I just finished Decade, and while I was kinda lukewarm during the first half, after I took a few weeks break and came back to it, I realized I was rather enjoying it quite a bit.

There are a lot of weaknesses to it, things that just happen that are never explained (or even mentioned, Decade Violent Emotion, for example, unless I missed something).

But overall, I liked it. In the end, I cared about the characters and what was happening to them. I also enjoyed that Kiva factored in so much. I always love seeing that suit. (Hey Bandai, where my SHFs Kiva, Saga and Kivala at?)

Despite liking them, I still think both Decade's and Diend's designs are dumb. :)

I will forever maintain that episode one of Hibiki is the weirdest episode I have ever seen in a toku show.

You've never seen the Shaider Christmas episode, have you?

I haven't seen Shaider period.

I've only seen a couple episodes, but the Christmas one is balls crazy.

Den-O Episodes 21/22: I really don't like Yuuta. The Zeronoos suit, Deneb, the freaking Bull Drill Helicopter steam train, are all awesome. I just hate the guy that uses it all. He's being a jerk, for no really explained reason, to everyone, even Hana, who tried to save him. Please, someone, tell me he gets better, as he's the only character I dislike. I even like Miura and Oozaki compared to this guy.

Yuuto is arguably the best character in Den-O, so yeah, he gets better and you should come to like him.

Learned something tonight that proves a suspicion I've had for awhile. I've been watching Black RX lately and I kept having the nagging suspicion that the monster designer for this show must have worked on Metalder, too. The designs just looked so similar, especially when you factor in that both shows had four divisions of kaijin. Well tonight I stumbled across the answer: yes, Metalder and Black RX had the same creature designer. Te real kicker, though? It was Keita Amemiya, the creator of Garo.

Yuuto is one of the few things I actually enjoyed in Den-O. Which was a great help to watch to the end because I HATE Ryotaro.

That's a real interesting tidbit to know. I'll be sure to look at that when I watch Metalder.

Decade Episode 3

mmmmhhmmhm....BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Oh my god, is that Wolf Grongi the ultimate darkness? It looks so fucking stupid!

This episode was pretty good. The end of the Kuuga arc and Tsukasa learning a bit more about what's going on.

Is it just me or does this show feel like Kingdom Hearts with the whole world travelling system? Super condensed version of the plot from the source material mixed with hi-jinks of the new characters and them teaming up for 1 world (besides Onodera).

Episode 4

I've never seen Kiva so this is all new to me.

Is that guy who destroyed the violin young Wataru's dad?

But I have to say the best part of the episode was the Decade vs Kaixa fight at the end of the episode. And I think it's actually voiced by Kusaka himself!

I am only on episode 14 of Hibiki and I got to say that this series has been pretty awesome so far:D.

is it me but do the Oni remind anyone of the Makai Knights from Garo?

Black RX Episode 9: Gedorian is one of the generals I am liking more. Though he would have had a better chance if he actually fought with his monster rather than run away during the fight. Kotaro is so silly and so much fun in this show and learning with the Cactus. The Cactus monster was funny, I'm Immortal, no you're immortal till you get impaled by badass lightsaber. Right now Kotaro is RX the Impaler, lol. I also love how he chopped off the vine and used it against the monster. I like that Rideron can talk as well and has digging capabilities is awesome too. Wish Acrobatter got more use rather than just helping Black RX jump up for the attack.

A little, yeah.

Black RX Episode 10: I enjoyed the whole attacking Kotaro's weakness plot of attacking the family he's living with, and making clones of them. The monster was totally disgusting though ick, I'm glad Gatezone sends the monster next episode I like the robots lol. Kotaro is a lot of fun when he is with his family and I like that a lot. Though it must have been fun for the actors to attack Kotaro like that lol. Once again the Revolcane is the Ultimate sword of destruction and I love it lol.


Well if the Oni in Hibiki are like Makai Knights that makes me more excited for Hibiki. Which possibly might be my next series after Black RX.

Give it a couple of more episode and you'll come to feel for Yuuto.

The sub for Stronger 36 just dropped tonight. It's a good episode that brings in the last major Delza generals and sees the return of Amazon and X Rider. Keisuke fights a lot like he did in the Showa vs. Heisei movie, while Daisuke has possibly the most epic disrobing in Kamen Rider history. He's never as brutal in other appearances, but I still always feel sorry for anyone who has to fight Amazon in these team-up episodes. :lol

Decade episode 5

Where the hell is IXA? Didn't he play an important part in the Kiva?

So Wataru's father was also the evil guy. Wait? Didn't he say to kill him? But that does explain the restraint he has when plot development happens between Wataru and Onodera.

You may have noticed I haven't talked about Final Form Ride yet. Well, I think its fucking stupid. From an in-show standpoint, yes it creates some badass finishers, but it makes fruit armor look tame by comparison. The toy gimmick it was based on was dumb. "Hey, you know all of those dumb morphing figures from the 80s and 90s that turned into random other things? Yeah, let's do that in 2009."

That Kaixa fight was still badass.

I also don't like the laughing pressure point thing. it just seems like a really contrived way of forcing comedy into the show. Watching Tsukasa laugh awkwardly when Natsumi thumb stabs him in the shoulder is painful to watch. I like his humor better when he's Decade and cracking whips.

Episode 6

I was not expecting this. I was expecting Ryuki's world to be more like ace attorney, where dudes dressed up in suits and did ridiculously comical things while making claims. But no, its the Riders fighting while saying generic stuff like "She's innocent!" That's better, I guess?

I swear Ren looks like a Japanese James McCovoy. Also a slight tanget, in terms of alternate Universe versions of any of the main characters, I want the characters to look similar. Onodera looks like Godai. Tatsumi looks like Shinji. Ren? He looks more like the guy from Foundation X then Ren. I understand live action is different then comics or animation and its harder to find dudes who look similar enough to past Riders all for one season but jeez, they could have tried better.

I always love when Tsukasa pulls out the Kamen Ride for the Rider he obtained the Card for in the previous world. Kiva vs Knight was badass.

Episode 7

Abyss was the real threat? Well damn, sure saw that coming lol.

I find it weird how this Decade two parter used the prospect of time travel in a Rider War better then the in the actual figgin' show. Time Vent was just used for an original idea for a recap episode but this just made it awesome. (And no, the implication of Kanzaki Shiro throwing out timelines until he got the result he wanted of Yui getting a new life does not count. That's inferences from the fact that there's two AU stories and the fact that he has time vent, its never been shown in anything that he's completely thrown out a timeline only to get another bad result.)

Abyss was an awesome design and totally fits in with the rest of the Ryuki Riders. Wish he got used more.

I was also disappointed that Zolda wasn't even referenced that much in this whole Battle Lawyer thing. An entire storyline based around him in this world would have been awesome. But a nod from Tsukasa saying "Isn't this Zolda's thing?" would have been nice too.

The final attack Ride for this two parter was also pretty cool as Decade did the Dragon Rider kick that Ryuki usually does with Dragredder.

One thing I can say about this episode was that it was at least better then Dragon Knight lol.

Episode 8

....Did I just walk into a Kabuto episode? With the chefs and Board being more looming like Zect? This concept sounds like a better fit for Kabuto world. I would laugh my ass off seeing Tendou getting demoted to being a chef and watching the dick fight between Tsukasa and Tendou. Maybe even a cooking competition?

Obviously, I am going to be more critical of these two episodes because Blade is my favorite series. But there were some good parts.

This world showed that maybe if Board was still around, maybe it wouldn't be the best thing. The series sort of hinted at corruption and manipulation within Board itself, with Tenouji and whatnot.

But this ranking system screams full on bullshit and corruption. And you see Kendate wanting to protect people despite BOARD pushing him down. Its a very interesting change.

It's also hilarious that the Riders have to get approval to transform. What is this Metroid: Other M?

Episode 9

And a Hibiki Rider showed up. And just bombed the place and ran.

Again, I like the twist with the whole corruption angle, but it was disappointing seeing Abyss from the last arc getting defeated really easily.

And Diend.

The fight where Tsukasa used Ryuki in this episode makes me love crossover stuff like this. Using each Riders' abilities to their strengths.

Episode 10

This is completely different. I think the only similarities are that there's a group named Clover, they use the Faiz suit and that Takumi turns into the Wolf Orphenoch.

ANKH! I didn't know you were an Oprhenoch!

Diend is badass. His summons are pretty rad too, adds infinite amount of combat possibilities.

Episode 11

Eh. It wasn't that good of a two parter anyways.

Episode 12

I haven't seen Agito, but I know enough to know that Souichi is not Gills.

Damn man, Souichi looks fuckin' homeless. Real Souichi is gonna show up at some point to show this classes mofo what a real Agito can do.

God damn it Onodera. TURN INTO KUUGA IF YOU WANT YASHIRO TO PAY ANY ATTENTION TO YOU.

Episode 13

So wait, Souichi is Agito and Gills? Wha?

Welp, that arc resolved nothing. Yusuke is probably not gonna turn into Kuuga still.

Also, did Diend steal some of Decade's cards when he had his Ride booker? Because he summoned Blade during that one fight and Tsukasa didn't turn into the Rider from the previous two parter.

Finished Double Sunday (pretty good series) w/ my siblings & we started OOO yesterday. Also marathoning Decade on my own. Finished Episode 17, mixed bag at best is Decade.

Finally got back into Agito with 25-27. G3-X did some awesome stuff (gatling guns FTW!), Souichi got his memory back (and apparently isn't actually Souichi? Interesting...), but Gills getting his ass kicked was kinda disappointing.

Started watching Kuuga today. The first episode was kind weird, but let's see what the show has to offer. :)

I Love Kuuga. I've been slowly watching it for a second time over the last while, and while there are still parts about it that drag, I have a hard time caring about any of the characters beyond Godai and Ichigo, I think it's a really great show.

I dig the mystery of the bad guys and Kuuga's powers, and the way they both progressed. And I love Kuuga's design.

Stronger 37 was just released this afternoon; the antepenultimate episode of the series and of the original Showa era. It was a good one with some nice action and good moments from the guest stars: V3 and Riderman. The episode leaves off on a cliffhanger with Stronger and Shadow facing off for the last time. It looks like KITSubs is trying to get this wrapped up quickly, so ideally we won't have to wait long for the conclusion.

Black RX Episode 11: Gatezone has the balls to revive one of the most feared monsters of the Crisis Empire, who actually defeats Black RX the first time was pretty interesting. I loved how Acrobatter and Rideron were trying to protect Kotaro, I'm glad I really love those machines they are awesome. I'm glad the kid learned that he didn't need a new bike he was spoiled lol. The fighting was awesome this episode Black RX has some nice moves, I love his flip he does into the RX kick it is phenomenal to watch, and the Revolcane is so awesome too.

Yay more love for Kuuga! It's a very good series it takes about 5 or so episodes to really pick up, but Godai and Ichijou are really great characters and I enjoyed the supporting cast a lot. I hope you enjoy it Suzu! =)


Yeah Agito gets really interesting around there. It happens to the best of Riders but they come back and kick ass. =)

So I'm not triple posting I'll just add the next episode summary here.

Black RX Episode 12: Dream monsters are some of my favorites because they are a smart place to attack the heroes. Great to hear that there is people like Garu, rebels of Crisis out there, that definitely adds another layer here. I swear Kotaru must have a huge arrest warrant by now lol. I enjoyed the machine and how Kotaro helped Reiko change the dreamscape and help him with the fight. I swear Maribaron is being over used here with the villains. I want more Gatezone and the green guy lol.

Black RX Episode 13: More Crisis refugees, I am liking these people a lot. The plot with Shigeru and Kengo was actually really good with friends fighting with each other over a girl but still helping each other when they were fighting I enjoyed. The fighting was awesome especially with Acrobatter helping Black RX and RX just goes triple badass doing the RX Kick, into impaling with the Revolcane then knocking out two of the Crisis henchmen in one motion with an elbow then a punch. I also liked that Kotaro didn't force Shigeru to tell him what he knew so he could keep his promise.

Black RX Episode 14: So Maribaron commits the ultimate fuck up for a villain, by having one of her own incompetent henchmen accidentally kill the princess! Oh all the fucking things to do! Lol wow so now they try to replace good plan to make sure you don't get killed and that your boss doesn't get killed either. Kidnapping Hitomi though these jackasses are a whole different level. It was nice to see the family get involved to try and save her. I was shocked to see this is a two-parter, this definitely felt like it needed to be. Well into the Demon World we go next episode. =) It looks exciting.

Black RX Episode 15: Death Garon looks totally badass, like a weird combination of Shadow Moon and Super-1 with more monstrous elements, he was pretty cool. I absolutely loved the emotions from Kotaro as he thought he got Hitomi killed and then transformed into Robo Rider. I understand why he's called the Prince of Sorrow now. Totally just pummeled Death Garon and that was fun to see. Glad to see Hitomi is alive because I was getting sad. Also Maribaron is fucking stupid first she kills the Princess and then devises a ploy that just makes your enemy even more powerful, General Jak should punish her or destroy her after this mess.

Black RX Episode 16: The Black RX-athon continues. Joe the Haze is fucking badass, I mean he fights with Sais and has awesome moves I was waiting for him because he was mentioned in Decade. This whole connected arc with Hitomi is really great right now, and I love Robo Rider's design and I love that it has tears coming down from the eyes. Also I Acrobatter's transformation was awesome too. This is getting even more interesting with Shigeru being kidnapped too. I can't wait for Bio Rider next.

Black RX Episode 17: A fantastic end to this arc. Seeing Bio Rider come about was really cool. I am glad that they were able to change Hitomi and the other girls back from the Valley of Miracles. Bio Rider's blade and abilities are totally freaking cool, the Prince of Anger is awesome. Also seeing Acrobatter's transformation into Mach Jabber was cool too. General Jak was way too lenient of Maribaron she totally fucked up and if not for General Jak's creative thinking would have gotten them all killed. She must be lucky that General Jak must like her. I'm happy to see Joe the Haze be apart of this show now too, I think it's definitely gotten more interesting after this arc.

Agito 28: It seems Gaim isn't the only show that puts filler after a cliffhanger. Oh well, at least Gills was in it.

Decade episode 14

Uhhhhhh......

I've been corrupting a bunch of my friends to Kamen Rider, and I just realized how much of a trip this particular season (Gaim) is to go through. Seriously, who can even look at episode 1 again without either laughing or crying at the thought of how screwed up everything gets? I still love W and OOO more, but Gaim is almost equal to them in my mind. Thought to be fair, W was my first season I watched completely through.

But back to the friends bit, should I start a bunch of freshmen joining my college's club on Gaim, or should I ease them in with a different season? What are you guy's thoughts?

No, start with Gaim.

While it is a very hated series to old time fans I would say Decade is a good jumping off point mostly because it will give your friends a taste of the moves and powersets of the pre-Decade heisei riders.

Decade has a story with no real pay off, but Decade has some reallly great action that will hopefully get your friends to like the action of Kamen Rider so when the time comes to watch other Kamen Rider series your friends will come for the action and stay for the story.

Decade is also only 31 episodes

Funny you should mention Decade, I first knew of Kamen Riders through him because of the Shinkenger crossover (my first Japanese tokusatsu show). I might consider it, though they'll likely be more confused than anything else. Plus, I wouldn't want to give a friend Age of Apocalypse before he or she has seen a single bit of normal X-men. I love alternate realities, but they're better when you seen the thing they deviate from first.

Decade, OOO, Blade, Gaim, Agito, Kabuto, wouldn't be bad to start with. I started with Wizard, I saw the first episode and fell in love with it. Should probably continue with that series lol.

I agree. Sharpen your courage into a Blade, be the Trump Card. Round ZERO is starting now.

I'd say some of the best ones to start out with are:

Black - A great showcase of what Kamen Rider is about and the best of the Showa era

J - The best out of the 90s movies. A great little self contained rider story which is sure to keep y'all entertained

Agito - IMO the best KR series ever. A phenomenal story with great characters

Decade episode 15

Why are there two Den-os?

For that matter, when did Momo and company suddenly gain the ability to posses people that aren't Ryotaro? They can do it in the Decade crossover and the Chou Den-O movies, but in the show (as far as I've seen, at least) they can only control Ryotaro.

Decade episode 16

So that's the legendary grandmother Tendou's been ex-positing about? Huh. Pretty cool.

That guy with the eyepatch reminds me of Snake. SNAAAAAKE!!!!

That Thebee vs Faiz Accel fight was pretty crazy.

Agito episode 29. Yeah, like we needed another pointless filler episode. Oh well, at least this this one was kinda entertaining. I have trouble believing that Hikawa would forget the release code for the GP-05, however - it's just three-digit code, and there's only so many possible combos of 1,2, and 3.
