Just finished Hibiki (the series, I still need to watch the movie) and that's easily the weakest endgame of any Rider show I've seen. Some of the character arcs I have mixed feeling about but the actors did a great job which really helped.

Hibiki is probably the only series that heavily dropped in my personal ranking just because I was so angry at how it ended. Onore, Toshiki Inoue!
Speaking of the devil, I'm currently watching Agito 35 and, even though there was some weaker episodes in the 20s, I still like this show a lot. The story is interesting, the characters are great (I even came to like Gills, now that he's hanging out more with Shouichi) and the action looks good. Also, I LOVE the Unknown designs. Even though the rider suits are not my cup of tea, lol. The subs are a bit... weird though, but always good for a laugh. Despite GomenRider improving them, they still have tons of funny translation errors. My favorite one was when Shouchi talked to a lady called "Satou" and it was translated as sweety- that was just brilliant xD It's true that Satou means sugar, but... the situation and the honorific made it extremely clear that it was her name, not Shouchi trying to flirt. xDDD |

That's good, I'm glad because Agito was one of my favorite series I've watched. It keeps getting really good as the series continues and has 3 of my favorite Riders ever too. |

So with Gaim now over with, I though I'd return to Wizard, starting where I left off (ep.20-21). And I liked it. I've always enjoyed Wizard, even if it is very formulaic and uncreative. It's just plain fun to watch, and this arc was no exception. I liked the Rinko/Phoenix interaction, it made him feel less generic. It's a shame he kinda just reverted back to normal at the end, but it was still nice.

I'm going to watch Faiz and Blade again, cya.

Black RX Episode 23: Okay I hate the smugness of Maribaron, I mean sure this episode was a colossal fuck up by Bosgan but it was no where near the cataclysmic fuck up that Maribaron caused with killing the Princess. I have no idea why she is even still alive. So on my point she has no reason to be smug to Bosgan. Still this was an interesting episode with a kid changing senseis into Pigs with the weird Keyboard and matter changing device crisis made. Kotaro had a great scene with Joe and teaching Joe not to be so callous to the kid. Also great plan having Joe dress up like Kotaro with a pig head on, that was great ruse set by Joe and Kotaro. Great action in the fight too, I really like Black RX's fighting style and that it pretty much hasn't changed from Black except he's gotten a little more acrobatic than he was before.

You're a far stronger man than I for getting that far in. |

Watched the Accel movie with my siblings. God, Ryu just loves to punch things..... We're gonna hit up the Eternal movie before we head to OOO. They're so hyped to see anything KR-related, it's really enjoyable.
While I watch all the Neo-Heisei shows & movies in order with my siblings I watch the Heisei stuff on my own & I'm conflicted on what to do next. I saw Kuuga first & then Decade, so I'm wondering where to start now with 8 seasons to choose from. What are some thoughts & feelings you guys got from these 8 seasons? Maybe I can get a better idea of which to pickup. |

Also, it means you get to watch Agito next and Agito is freaking awesome. |

Now if I was to be biast and just say "Watch this because it's my favorite," I'd say watch Ryuki. Some other ones that you'd probably have some fun watching would be 555, Hibiki, Kabuto, and Den-O. If you're willing to dip into Showa, I think it would be unanimous to say that you should definitely watch Black. And if you want to try out the movies from the 90s, watch J. It's the best out of the three IMO. |

As far as Showa it's an era I'm obviously hesitant about getting into. I cringe just listening to older things like MMPR due to their age & I hate to judge them based on just that. But it's kinda hard not to, you know? It's not like when you try something new like a movie or game that comes out next year. Older things have to compete with us focusing on constant improvement & growth, especially in media. I don't think Black is a good start for Showa, despite it being another unanimously adored series. Only because I don't want my understanding of Showa to be held up to Black's standards. If I wanna watch 1971 KR then it'll pale in comparison to Black, I'm afraid. If anything, I'd most likely start there if I choose to dabble in Showa, but only after watching the 10 Heiseis. Thanks guys! Big help. |

Plus, the martial arts action is more brutal, visceral, and bone-crushing in the old shows. Showa Rider is surprisingly baller. |

Well, actually, I'd probably switch Den-O and 555, as Den-O might not be that good, but it at least has a conclusion. |
Just saw the first 4 episodes of Agito. What the actual hell??? So many character introductions, so many loose connections to be made, so much mystery.....
And I like it. I really like it. It makes you question so much that the only way to know & be 100% sure is to keep watching. I know it's only the tip of the iceberg but so far, so good. Also I dig how Hikawa is basically Ichijou if he was a Rider. Gotta keep watching. |

Too bad they **** up Agito's ending with some half assed off screen fight.

I have finished episode 8 of Agito. God, I just love how this story, not only introduced, but explores all of the characters. It really feels like everyone is important. That's something I've always wanted to capture in writing so I hope to use Agito as a reference model for it.
I do have issues with some inconsistencies, though. Like how Agito has to respond to each individual Unknown, except he doesn't. There's times when the police get to the victims with no Agito in site until the end of the episode, when the fights typically occur for the genre. And that's usually to a different target. I mean, if he really does get forced by the power to run to every Unknown out there that tries to commit murders then there'd be a smaller number of deaths since he'd actually be out preventing each one. That's my problem with the series so far, but other than that still very enjoyable. |

Black RX Episode 24: Interesting that Crisis has been at this for years trying to take over Earth but their spies are not that great but I like that a lot. Joe and Kotaro are awesome stopping Crisis and splitting up, finding out things about what's going on here. The Vampire-like alien was a pretty tough threat here good thing Kotaro saw an opening quickly and stopped him. I can't wait for the next episode Bosgan goes to get his hands dirty again and that looks fun.

Black RX Episode 25: Definitely got interesting with the Emperor being angry and wanting to get rid of Jak in 6 months, the Emperor is smart so far. I like the lengths Bosgan is willing to go, when he gets involved they are definitely better episodes. The fake wedding with Kotaro and Reiko was fun just to see Kotaro's reaction at the idea, and great plan for a bit with Joe being the disguised one. I hope we get a bigger fight with Bosgan next episode but Robo Rider was ready to pound his ass in, and for one of the big generals I think he needs to fight tougher. Black RX Episode 26: This got dark with Bosgan's plans to attack everyone who is connected to Kotaro and then isolate him from his family. I'm glad Joe, Shigeru, and Hitomi all helped him out when his eyes were wounded. Damn that monster was a cheap ass punk biting his eyes. Bosgan didn't plan for Bio Rider and he kicked the crap out of both the Monster and Bosgan, a pissed off Kotaro is not someone you want to mess with. I was going to cry for Joe but I'm glad he's barely alive I like him too much. Ah Shadow Moon returns next episode I am intrigued for what that brings. |
Kiva 1-12:
I like it! Otoya's suave love-machine antics are hilarious, Wataru's shyness is adorkable with that courage boost at the end of 12 being awesome, Kivat's really fun and his trivia segments are fun, and the music... Organs! Castle Doran's theme! The Feustle tunes! The Violins! I want to take up the Violin again!! And Nago... I love how much he wants to exterminate the Fangire race. I love his sense of justice. I love his buttons-as-trophies thing. I love Ixa's suit design. I want the Ixa Belt! (And the Kivat Belt, but I want Ixa first). |

But everything goes downhill at an ever accelerating pace. |

I'LL be the judge of that. |

The only thing that goes downhill in Kiva is the ability to time travel. Other than that, the show rocks all of the way through as Wataru has huge amounts of character development. The best since Agito and the best until Gaim.

Kiva is a great show if you like cool designs, great music, shoehorned-in toys, and moping in bathtubs but hate explanations.
