So for a while I was thinking which sentai team to collect, after much.deliberation it ended up being a choice between shinkenger and kyoryuger.
After messing around with shinkenred and.kingu, I chose to go with kyoryuger. Partly because their increasing price is scaring me a wee bit, but they just look absolutely stunning together in their signature poses. Partnered with some effect parts I have it'll be well brave innit. |
So amongst the Figuarts I cracked open last night were Gaim, Baron, and Zangetsu.
I love the metalic paint thesed on them, they pop under the right amount of lighting. The bonuses work fantastically well in an Ikea detolf shelf too. In order of rank, I'd say I like Zangetsu, Baron, and Gaim in that order. I love the metalic red they used on Baron and Zangetsu's design has always been my favrioute from the show. |

I like paying upfront for pre-orders then having the payment be done when the figure is ship out which is why I don't pre-order on AmiAmi. I feel like I won't have the money when the figure comes out, so I rather pay it right off the bat to get it done and over with. I do the same at Gamestop by paying the whole pre-order for a game then paying for it on the last minute. |
I like doing normal orders via amiami and the like, it's nice to have some space to manage your finances, with exclusives though gotta pay half upfront since I use okinawa a lot.

What's the difference between a middleman site that sells exclusives and a toy site that sells exclusives? |
I just create a account on Nippon Yasan. What's the best shipping choice because I plan to buy Kamen Rider Gaim Orange Arms next week with my next pay check. Economic seems the cheapest, but there's no tracking number.

Continuing through my Figuarts backlog, I've gotten around to opening my Dekarangers.
Is it just me or are the D-Knuckles a lot tighter on the girls than they are the guy's holsters? Also broke out the Hurricangers too, Hurricane Yellow and Blue's wrist feels almost as scary as Kyoryured's. |

so what are the chances that when kiva comes out and starts up that line again that the ones that were released get re-released? cause if they decide to release ixa's bike he would need to come out again. I would love if they released the powered ixer, but if they ever did it would be twe. I mean it would be a cool way to display ixa. how would they release kiva's bike for that matter? I know it would probably be a normal release, but would its upgrade parts come with it, separate, or a different bike entirely? also kivala must get made, and possibly a special castle doran stand.
|
Ahahaha... releasing the bike of a secondary rider from an old show that was seldom used... Oh man, good one!
But seriously, I love Kiva quite a bit, but you should keep your expectations realistic. |

I'm just excited at the prospect of a Kiva with compound eyes. Also one without chrome because I'm looking at my SH Kiva and the flaking is heartbreaking. |

Is Wizard Water Style any better then Flame Style? A Ebay seller is selling him around $25 used in good condition. I do feel like picking him up just to complete my collection.

Someone else mentioned some proportion issues with the Wizard mold in general, but that's a design issue rather than QC, which is what most of the completes regarding Flame Style (that I see, anyways) are based on. |
Got my Ryugen today. He is pretty nice, but I'm not really satisfied with the guy. The paint, especially on the details, is pretty lacking. Nothing extreme, but you notice it. The right joint that connects the hand to the lower arm was put in the wrong way, I was pretty shocked for a moment when I pulled the joint out alongside with the hand. But after I figured it out, I switched the joint around and pushed it in the right way, seems to fit for now.
Still a very nice figure, but the weakest FiguArt I've gotten so far. EDIT: Just noticed another thing when I couldn’t stand hip um right, his left leg wasn’t pushed in all the way. |
I'm still surprise Ryugen hasn't sold out on most websites. Gaim, Baron and Zangetsu sold out fast on their first week. Makes me wonder if the Shin Zangetsu SHF will be popular or not? The Mitchy hate is strong in the fandom right now.

Makes you wonder if preorders would have sold out like the others had it been put up before he turned sour in the show eh?

Fingers crossed that Micchy's unpopularity will aid me in getting a Zangetsu Shin...

Well my neighbors were doing construction work next door which cause most of my figuarts to fall down inside the glass shelve of mine. All of them were okay expect for Den-O sword form. The eye on his left side of his head is broken and won't come back on. Unless I can find away to glue it back on, I may have to buy a new one. I got him last year on Toy Arena and I notice he went up in prices this year.
What's the best glue to use to glue back pieces on figuarts? I don't know what to do if I can't fix him. He's a $40 figure, so throwing him out will be wrong. No one will buy him on eBay, so I might have to give him away to Good Will if I have no choice. |
I posted this on ranger board, so I am going to pose this idea here as well...
Ok, so I have this crazy idea and maybe it has been done before, but I am going to pitch it anyway. At the tamashii website, you can take a survey that asks about your purchase. You get to list what figuarts you have bought in the line, how you feel about the accessory count, how you feel about price point, and what you want to see come out in the line in the future (you can mention up to three figures/sets). They have two links up for the two most recent sentai releases. So why don't we band together as a fandom, pick two releases that we would all want to buy (allow everyone to pick a random one) and flood tamashii nations/bandai will data on the surveys they put up. The website is in japanese, but if you have google chrome, it will easily translate it and you can quickly take the survey (which takes about five minutes to complete). If we can come to a general consensus as a fandom on two releases, I think this idea could work. tamashii(dot)jp/anke/ (I am not sure if we can post hotlines on the board) |

But I did like what they ended up doing with the Rider, so I don't really regret it now. |

But I absolutely love the idea of Shin-Zangetsu being this dark form where whoever seems to be wearing it at the time has become a corrupted and twisted version of themselves. |
Zangetsu Jimba Melon Arms please.

I apologise if this has already been discussed and I missed it, but did anyone else notice Gridon has different wrist joints to the rest of Gaim Figuarts?

But I'd probably prefer them to the obnoxiously thin and tiny wrists the rest have. |
Gridon's wrist peg is better than the normal Gaim releases because of its thickness. It never felt to me that the peg would snap off during hand swaps. It feels sturdy.
|
While I agree that thickness = better, I never really felt that the Gaim pegs were as fragile as the usual wrist pegs Figuarts use. In fact I'd rate them as sturdier than normal despite the size.
The problem before was there was next to no support between the two balls, but with the Gaim figures they added that wide base that surrounds them. |

Kyoryu Red is as a prime example. |

The connection between the peg holes on Kyoryu Red's wrists and the actual ball joint were too tight, so put too much pressure on either side without being careful and they rip right off. Gridon's don't feel that way. The hands pop off without too much force and I don't feel like the ball joint is straining in the process. I agree that the wrist joints on the other Gaim releases have felt pretty good and not as cautious as other releases (Though my Zangetsu's left wrist joint was shoddy and tends to pop apart when swapping certain hands), I'm just saying Gridon's feel more-so. |
Yeah, I think they're using the thicker joint for exclusives. Odd choice, but whatever. I don't have Gridon in hand, but I haven't been scared that my current Gaim figures' joints would break.
