Shin Zangetsu is a near flawless design. Nothing about the original Zangetsu really popped for me, but with Shin, the new black accents and shoulder armor drew me to it
|
I honestly like both Zangetsu's design but Banana Baron and Lemon Duke are my favourites. Not too worried about getting Lemon Baron either which is a good thing for my wallet. Also, along with NY shipping Shin Zangetsu, Rose Attacker has also been shipped (with Gridon which I made in the same order).
With all these exclusives I've been pre-ordering because of Gaim I've gone from spending an average of about $25-30 on a Figuart to $50-60+. Also another reason why I am some what glad that Sentai releases have slowed down a bit for the foreseeable future because I need to take a break. Also just wound up paying about $73 for Gokai Pink. The low Canadian Dollar really doesn't help much either. Haha. |
NipponYasan has Shin Zangetsu in stock again, 7,800¥.

Managed to snag a Shin Zangetsu from NY. Happy I get to avoid those aftermarket prices.

I'm getting Shin Zangetsu because of how it's been used in the show, I really like how Micchy appropriated it from his brother. Plus it's a pretty sleek design, I like how his shoulder leads into the crest. Also those bubbles are such a really nice touch and I'm really surprised that they managed to pull it off on a figuarts scale.
Also congrats Asakura! Surprised they came back in stock, usually when they sell out on exclusives they gone and oh hey he's still in stock as well! Glad I managed to grab mine at a lower price though earlier. |
Looks like MMPR Green/Dragonranger and MMPR White/Kiba Ranger have gone up in prices now. Both are $80 on Amazon. I wanted to get them, but I never got the time too last year. It looks like they have no chance on being reissue anytime soon.

I would keep a very close eye on Amiami. They tend to get Dragon in bursts every now and again. |

Oh man, I don't like this talk of the MMPR team going up in price. I just finished up Kyoryuger and I really don't have the money to buy a whole other team D:
You'd think since they're released at retail thanks to bluefin that they wouldn't command the prices of exclusives :< |

I don't know if prices for White or the other non-Japanese retail releases will climb as high as some of the DBZ stuff once they sell out...but if you want to avoid that possibility, may be best to pick up White real soon and keep a close eye on stock of the others as well. |
Check out B&N. They have a ton of Whites, Reds, and Greens at my stores.
|
The only B&N around me is in Ellicott City, MD. That place had no figuarts other then S.H Figuarts Mario. I think I better pick up the rest of the MMPR/Zyuranger team before the year ends. Same with Legacy Dragon Zord before he goes up to over $100 by next year.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...uarts&_sacat=0 Seems like the only one that's hard to find are Green Ranger and White Ranger, with Armored Black still holding some value. This is probably due to JDF hype, but honestly I think the US versions are so wide spread you won't have a problem finding them for a nominal price. IF all you want is the main five, I don't think they'll be too expensive to get if you track down the US versions, they seem more wide spread compared to the Japanese market. |

Oooh okay, well that's good I guess concerning the MMPR guys, just got a bit worried because of Green's high prices, but I guess that is probably down to JDF hype.

Figuarts in general seem to be creeping up in price. Suddenly the DBZ ones are off the wall. Hell, Krillin and 18 have sky rocketed and 18 just came out last month.
Maybe I should just go to B&N and grab their greens and whites and sell them off for double the price. Of course, I would if I could even afford to do that. |
All this MMPR talk and I'm just sitting here like "Go up for pre-order already Black Beet."

Yes, because why bother with the concept helping fellow board members by just buying and selling them the figures at cost when you can just scalp them for double the price?

Meh. I'm not gonna lie, I have a full MISB set of the Inner Senshi Sailor Moon and Zyuranger Figuarts that I purchased and have now put in storage as I wait for them to be worth something. I'm not scalping because I'm not buying them in excess and I don't think there's anything wrong with doing that. People can be a bit too sensitive sometimes.

You bought them cause you wanted them and now you're keeping them mint in hopes that they become valuable. You're not taking advantage of other buyers by purchasing all the popular releases you can and then trying to turn them around for a much higher profit...so I don't really see the problem you have here... |

He was around $50 when it came out in the US on Amazon back in April or May, now he went up to $68.80 on Amazon and $69.99 on Toy Arena. Ryuki is now at $90.00 on Amazon. I was lucky enough to buy Ryuki at Otakon last year.

But regardless of price increase I'd still like to try and get them if possible. |
Just got payment request for Hibiki at Amiami!!
All paid up and ready to go :D |

With the holiday this weekend, Hibiki/Ryugen/Garren & some others, Shin Zangetsu and Genocider (woo!) should be arriving around the same time next week.
|
WOOO I'd like to join the club of getting payment requests for Hibiki! He's packaged together with Ryugen and UA Tiga, it's gonna be a proper Toku haul! I hope Micchy doesn't betray anyone midflight...
|
That's one nice thing about ordering from a place where you have to pay in advance. I totally forgot Hibiki was due out and I was pleasantly surprised to get the shipping notice from CDJapan.
