No. The way I see it is that it only needs to reach to qualifications.

1. It needs to fit the character it's matched to.

Modranger's Setting: An In Depth Analysis
 

So...I've been thinking about where exactly Modranger takes place. Ok, so it has been stated that it takes place in California. So there are a lot of places it could take place, as California is a large state. However, at one point it is mentioned how Reggie goes to School at Cal State Long Beach. Now that narrows it down quite a bit.

That eliminates all of Northern California.

As well as the entirety of the Inland Empire, and the mountain and desert regions.

Furthermore, the Modrangers must live near each other, and close to HQ. So taking those factors into account. I can safely assume that it takes place in Orange County, so that eliminates San Diego County and Imperial County, since it's even further south east. It also takes out most of Los Angeles County.

Now that we've got all of that narrowed down, let's look at cities in that area.

So, that leaves: Long Beach itself, Anaheim, Garden Grove, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Cypress, Buena Park, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Signal Hill, and Lakewood.

Now, a Downtown...I guess...Metro area, has been mentioned. The beach, and the coast have never been mentioned. Whether or not Jordan's shop is near a downtown area has yet to be seen. Now, there was an import shop in Huntington Beach (They moved to Irvine, because of a rent price hike). So I don't know if I can rule it out. However, it is on the other end of Orange County...so I'll probably need to rule it out. Same with Fountain Valley.

Now...Anaheim is about the same distance, so I can rule it out as well. Especially considering that Anaheim's downtown area is pretty much the Disneyland Resort area, and there would be absolutely no way in heck that monsters could attack, and the cops wouldn't get involved. Since there's no mention of police trying to fend off the monsters in the fanfic. Now, since Anaheim is ruled out, I can eliminate Buena Park, Cypress, and Stanton.
