I finally saw The Wolverine - 10/10

Seriously, of the four films I've seen this year, all of which I've really enjoyed, this one takes it's place in second, right after Into Darkness. Loved it more than Origins (which I didn't hate at all), more than the original 3 X-Men films (all three of which I also very much appreciated).

I think they made a great film, and I hope to see more like it.

Picked up Ed Wood from the bargain bin a couple days ago.

This is probably my favorite Tim Burton film, a cheerfully dour retrospective on the founder of "So Bad Its Horrible" filmmaking. Martin Landau's performance as fallen star Bela Lugosi is beautiful; his Oscar was well-deserved.

I lost hope for that film series when they made the plot of the first movie revolve around a plot point in the book that was resolved in a paragraph. (I kid you not, Percy received all of the pearls at once when he fell off of a bridge and was greeted by a messenger of Poseidon. Gee, that sounds like a better plot than a complex and action-packed conspiracy meant to set up a larger conflict.)

I think in some was it was just as good but I don't know if I would call it better. They both have their little faults. I was expecting to not like The Wolverine but was very impressed.

I'd give it to him just for saying Boris Karloff is a cock sucker, but yes Landau deserved that Oscar. One of my favorite performances of all time.

Watched Equestria Girls. 7/10
Better than anticipated, should've had the friends drift apart naturally rather than rely on villainous interventions.

Watched X-Men First Class. 7/10

Kick-Ass 2 was actually pretty good. If you liked the first one, you will most likely enjoy this one, just do not expect it to be as good. If you hated the first one, you definitely will not like this. I never read the comic, so I do not know how accurate it was to it, but I have been told not so much. The movie is quite violent, but then, that was to be expected since the first one was as well. Plus, the dialog is hilarious. Lastly, there is a scene after the credits, which was kind of a dumb, but still seems like it would be important if they ever do the third book. Overall, is it the greatest thing ever? HELL NO!! However, with all of the garbage that has come out this summer, you could do much worse.
