Welcome to the site Kamijou Touma.
|
Hello Kamijou Touma, welcome to TN! I hope you enjoy your time here! :)
|
Never knew we had this thread so I will be a bit late on my introduction
Hello! I am a D&D nerd, a fan of kamen rider and super sentai, adorable baby animals and warmahordes. No matter how cranky I seem, I am actually quite a pleasant person when dealing with things I like, even if I am a bit overly critical. The only way to make me actually angry is if you mangle the english language every time you make a post. If your english is terrible, I won't speak to you. |
Hello. I made an account a while ago on TFW, under the same name of CopperPuppet, around the same time I started collecting Transformers, and saw this site around and started lurking. Figured as Zi-O gets closer, might be a good time to make an account.
I'm Ashley, and I've been a bit of a fan of shows and movies with practical effects for a while. I grew up watching a lot of Power Rangers, I still have some fond memories of Time Force, I think I even had a Halloween costume of one of those Rangers. While I'm not as big of a PR fan now, a few years ago I got into Kamen Rider, and as of right now I have seen most Heisei Riders, and dabbled in Showa a tiny bit. My favorite Rider is OOO, and I've collected some small figures of Double in a few forms, Drive, and Ichigo. I have looked into Super Sentai a bit, and while I enjoyed Go-Busters quite a bit, I can't say I'm a huge fan overall of Sentai so far. Some time in the future, I plan to maybe get around to exploring some of the less... big... Toku shows, for fun. |
Welcome CopperPuppet!
Maybe you'll enjoy some Sentai in the future, I didn’t like at first either, but some shows were really entertaining, Lupinranger VS Patoranger is currently airing and pretty fun to watch. Ultraman is always worth checking out, they have put out some great stuff over the last few years. |
Welcome to TN, CopperPuppet! I hope you enjoy your time here! :)
|
Thank you!
I've actually been thinking of checking out Lupin v Pato, since the setup alone seems fairly unique and interesting enough to check out, even if Sentai hasn't clicked for me. Also looks like Lolita gas good taste in Riders. |

Welcome to our chaotic corner of the Toku universe!! Keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times. Try not to scream in pain at the horrible sights you'll see. Enjoy your time here! And above all else, HAVE FUUUUN!!!!

Welcome Rubens Lima, you grew up watching some really good stuff! :)
And don't be too bothered about your English, we have lots of people here who aren't native speakers, and mistakes happen even to those who are ;) |

I remember my childhood , great tokusatsu era on tv . In Brazil, Jaspion is the greatest and most famous japanese tokusatsu hero ever. Because of his fame, many other series came after like Changeman, Flashman, maskman, google five, Jiban , Jiraya, Spielvan, uchuu keiji trilogy, cybercop, Lion man, Poitrine, Machine man , metalder, spectreman, kamen rider black and rx , winspector and solbrain. Most part on the legendary channel called Tv Manchete(don' t exist anymore) .it was a Tokusatsu and anime home in the 80's and 90's. |
Ah. I guess Ill join in too with a introduction.
I got invited here by Reggie. I didn't really get into toku until last year, my brother was really into Power Rangers when we were young but I got into Kamen Rider with W and Ex-aid. I'm also a amateur voice actor - not professional but I'm getting my feet wet with it. Nice to meet y'all. |

Flex of TheBacklog here, long time lurker on the site but I've joined today in order to chat with the community and post stuff for my channel. Looking forwards to discussing Sentai/Ranger/Rider related stuff while on this site.
|
Hello there! I joined this site yesterday and I guess it's time to introduce myself here. I lurked around here plenty of times before and decided to join now. I've gotten into toku 2 years ago and visited other toku forums, but I'd like to be a part iof the discussions here. I'm mostly familiar with Kamen rider and Super sentai series, but I'm in the process of checking out other toku series as well. Also, nice to meet y'all!

Welcome FrostScarlet, make yourself at home :)

Hi
I just joined the site although I've been lurking on page for years now and finally bit the bullet to make an account. I've been a toku fan for years now. Started with Power rangers, then moved onto sentai and now I'm just a rider guy |
I'm really just here to get past the ten-post limit so I can post my extended Geed review on the Ultraman thread, but yeah, I grew up in the 90s on a steady diet of Toku. Outgrew them when I discovered girls and the outdoors.
Fell in love with Toku again a few years ago through Kamen Rider. It was a combination of the rewatching the Early Heisei Riders as a grownup (where I was surprised by how adult the storytelling was, despite being ostensibly a kids show), and the awesome SPIRITS manga, which reignited my love for the Showa Riders. I also recently got back into Ultraman through Geed. I watched Mebius a few years ago and loved it, too. I grew up on all the Showa Ultras and still love those shows too. Every time I hear the iconic Zetton WoooOOOooo sound I get a raging hard-on of nostalgia. Anyway. Nice to meet you all! |
Welcome Salaryman Zero, I'm glad to have you here :D
That Geed review? You certainly made a great first impression ;) |
Super late cause I didn't realize this thread was a thing lol, but yeah I'm trash at finishing shows, I've watched like one episode of almost all the Heisei riders but the only ones I've finished are Gaim, Build, and Fourze. Not much of a sentai guy, but lupat is definitely on my watchlist because that opening is great and I'm looking to increase the number of toku under my belt with ryukendo, legend heroes, and whatever else you cool cats can recommend.
So yeah hi again, and if you've got any extremely wholesome MHA memes they would be greatly appreciated. |
Welcome Duncuka :)
If I can't recommend anything enough it's Ultraman. It's a bit different from Kamen Rider or Sentai, it's more of a mix of Godzilla and the Twilight Zone to put it bluntly, giant monsters and aliens and their weird effects on humanity and the mysteries around them, but I'm constantly amazed by how good it is. They’re short shows too, around 25 episodes per series. So they can be easily finished if you like watching them. There are lots and lots of them but I think the best way to start is picking any of the modern shows (from Ginga on forward), they are all excellent IMO. Just be aware that continuity is a bit more of a factor than in other Toku shows as characters from past Ultraman shows are either referenced or play a big part themselves. Whatever you decide to watch, I hope you keep us posted and that you'll enjoy your stay. |
Hello, I'm Tomos (I'm terrible at coming up with a new username for every single website lol). I've been a fan for a very long time, I first learnt about Sentai in late 2003 but then got obsessed with old UK TV for 2 years because I've got Aspergers and I have a lot of obsessions but then in late 2005 I saw the first episode of Power Rangers SPD which made me rediscover the whole thing. I haven't been on a tokusatsu forum for a long time but I've been thinking I've joined a Eurovision forum so I might as well do the same with tokusatsu as well.
|
Welcome tomos, there's lots and lots of Toku shows to discover; I hope you enjoy your stay here and all the new shows you end up watching :)
|
Hello new torture subject, I have such sights to show you.
|
Well what happened in my case was a bit reverse for me. I'd seen Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel but my first full on with Toei was the Jungle Fury and RPM source shows and I saw Samurai's source show before Samurai started. This was due to a two year gap from RPM. Jetix was done with Power Rangers and I wanted to see what was next. So I saw what would become Samurai. And the next one after it. They started Samurai but I was already a fair way into what would become Mega Force Part 1. The Zord Cards thing drew me in having watched Dragon Knight on CW.
Then Shout Factory got into it and they released all 9 Saban Era I shows up to Time Ranger. (Have yet to get Go Go V) I own 8 of them. |
Hello new guy here. Not really good at introductions but nice to meet everyone anyway.
|
Heya!
|
Welcome GreatReader! I don't know if it's intentional or not, but your username is a perfect pun on "Great Leader". Which is to say, a certain image immediately came to my mind, it couldn’t possibly stay there, so I used my crude image manipulation abilities to give it form.
It's conveniently avatar sized, so if you want to use it, by all means, go for it! :lol https://i.imgur.com/SYk5CWR.png |
Welcome!
|
Nice to meet y'all! I'm over at TFW under the same name, figured I'd make an account here for as much as I love toku. I'm a huge fan of Godzilla especially, and I'm also into U*******, Kamen Rider, and Power Rangers/Super Sentai. Looking forward to my time here!
edit: yeah ok that's weird it keeps blocking/denying my posts if I spell out the name of the silver and red guy |
