So. Convergence is a thing. It's pretty cool so far. I'll write some recaps/reviews for the issues so far. Hopefully, they'll be finished by the weekend.
|
Warner has been planning to release a special teaser trailer for "Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice" on April 20th.
True to form, a handheld copy leaked to the Internet within hours of their announcement. Its out there if people want to look for it. Having watched it myself I must say its awful. Everything I hated about "Man of Steel" regurgitated onscreen again in just under two minutes, accompanied by a really ugly Batman. |

I liked nan if steel I like trailer. It's also classes as teaser as well. Also bat suit we saw was one of many suits batman has in film this one was his robot Suit he wore in dark knight returns
|
Yeah I've seen the Teaser Trailer too, it looks awful. I especially hate how they ripped stuff right out of "The Dark Knight Returns" even though the story of the movie is completely different.
|
Eh, it was just about what I was expecting and I liked it well enough. 20 seconds with Affleck's Batman is enough to know I like him a billion times more than Bale.
|
|
That was dumb.
|
I liked it. I'm really excited, now.
Also, that Batman looks like Batman. |
This constant drive to be as dark as possible is going to hurt DC in the long run.
Seriously it wouldn't hurt to have something a little lighter? GotG did super well, perhaps trying to make something along that tone could be good for them. |
Watched the trailer for Batman vs Superman. Oh my god this movie looks absolutely terrible. Enough with the Superman/Jesus comparisons!!! BATMAN DOES NOT BLOW PEOPLE UP!!! Does Zack Snyder even read DC comic books? It seems like he has no idea how these characters' personalities are supposed to be. Also, DC is absolutely allergic to color. Why was the entire trailer dark, at night, and raining?

89: Blew up Ace Chemicals and all the goons inside Returns: Stuck a bomb on a bad guy's chest and pushed him down a hole where he blew up Begins: Blew up the League temple Dark Knight: Blew up drug dealers at the beginning with the Tumbler on remote Rises: Blew up goons in Tumblers with his aircraft He doesn't always kill them, but he blows up people all the time. The movie looks like right dog's dinner but let's criticize it for what should be criticized, yeah? (and flick off the crying out in all-caps while we do?) |

Cause the outrage over this movie being like MOS*which it's a sequel to* is ridiculous to me. |
Personally, I'm curious and excited to see how they're going to progress Superman's development in this universe with this movie.
And I want to see some superhero team-up action. Also, Ben Affleck as Batman. I have faith. And it seems like that faith is going to pay off. |

And that is why Returns sucks. Begins was before he took up the mantle of Batman. Plus, he never intentionally killed anyone. TDK - he didn't kill them though. Rises is a mess of a film. This though, he intentionally fired missiles on the dudes to blow them up. THAT IS NOT BATMAN!!! No matter what, this trailer highlighted the exact reasons why there should have been a second Superman movie BEFORE they brought in Batman. |
I don't get mix feeling with this. It's teaser trailer DC calling it a teaser trailer so it Warner brother what I saw the scene batman holding gun on a tower might not be gun and some batman Item. Also this batman is a heavily influence by the dark knight return so yea. Also I ant taken thing as bad until a proper non teaser shows up

It's the cramming of characters that's giving me the biggest worry, but the trailer didn't shed any light on how that's going to go down. |

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the teaser but thats mostly because it only shows things I pretty much already knew. Which isnt necessarily bad but just isnt eniugh to excite me. I do like though that they go with a completely styilized comicbook look for this film. |
Really curious how Wonder Woman and Aquaman will come into play with B v S.
|
And we also still have Lex Luthor figuring into this movie somehow. Ans Cyborg is also in it if I remember correctly.
|
I'm fully expecting at least one of these characters to suffer from Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rhino syndrome.
Hyped as hell in the promotion, barely part of the film at all. |

Read the first two Issues of Convergence amd its alright I guess. I dont have any attachement to the Earth-2 Characters so it falls flst for me on that regard and the story itself is not very interesting at the moment.

Missed out on 0 my Store hadnt any there.
Its not really that I think its confusing since the story is so incredibly basic. Its just that not much happens in these issues especially since the first one was oversized. There just wasnt enough content for the money I spent on it. |
Would have appreciated an actual physical villain for Supes and Bats to team up against once they got their standard hero-fight out of the way, but I guess we're just stuck with bullshit Batman-shilling and "we're sorry for MoS" for most of the movie, give or take a cameo from Diana or Victor.
You're disappointing me, DC. |
Yeah, it sucks that they have already made Superman fascist Batman's lap dog.
|
Guys.
We don't even know the plot of the movie. We just have a trailer. And I don't know about you, but when Man of Steel was new, and all we had were trailers, the movie we got was fairly different from what I was expecting. Before you start decrying the movie for making Superman a fascist or not having a physical villain for them to team up against, just remember: all we know is that Batman and Superman fight, Wonder Woman shows up, Cyborg cameos, everyone teams up, and that this movie leads directly into Justice League. They'll be friends eventually. |

Instead of giving us a direct Superman sequel, they immediately find a reason to put Batman on film again. People give them a hard time for showing Metropolis in ruins (because Clark's never done that before (fight at the end of JLU, vs Doomsday, anytime Brainiac feels like being a dick and domes the city, making it impossible to "take the fight elsewhere" without taking him down first), so they present the first trailer to the film as "shame on you Clark, now we're going to have Bruce spank you". We already have Injustice as a "Superman's a bad guy, play Batman twice in story to stop his tyranny" (yeah they have good universe Superman defeat Regime Supes, but did they really have to give both Batman a chapter to play in?). Show me a time they deliberately make Batman out to be the bad guy in one of his film trailers, and I'll be quiet. This just reeks of DC getting scared and relying on Batman to draw people in and asking for forgiveness for pissing so many people off with Man of Steel. But sure, I'm just bitching because I want a Superman film to suck, not because DC is literally giving in to negative feedback and appealing mainly to Batman fanboys (the ones who don't care whether he kills or not, because it still counts as a "win"). |

People are way too quick to cry the sky is falling these days. |

People think the film looks bad because shit in the trailer makes it look bad. There's no hidden agenda, people are sick of DC's entirely reactionary mentality to every movie. |

You're right, maybe the movie will turn out to be good. However, this trailer makes me not to even bother seeing the movie because my seeing this movie is telling DC I will go see their movies no matter how much they bastardize their characters. Not tjust that, but DC needs to earn my trust with their movies, which they do not have. One, because they have yet to do anyone outside of Batman right. And secondly, they are not screwing up their TV series because of the movies. The people behind Arrow and Flash can no longer use Waller or Deadshot because of this movieverse. What next, they cancel Flash because of the movie? |

You raise some points that I agree with. You raise some points that I don't. Just because DC doesn't want to use certain characters for their TV shows because of the movies doesn't mean that the TV shows are going to suffer for it. That's what's great about DC—they have an unbelievably wealthy and expansive plethora of characters available for them to use. So far, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has had only one real trailer actually worth talking about, and it provides very little insight as to what the movie is actually going to be about. Yes, it does leave an impression as to what it will be about, but it provides a very limited perspective that may very well be misleading. Saying that the trailer showed everything wrong with the film when this is the only trailer so far is not a fair judgment to make. |
