This actually was from the Ultimate universe FF4. Their powers came from Reed trying to open a portal to Earth 616, and the machine failing miserably.

Yeah, I recalled reading that and being confused as to why they weren't in space and who that mole guy was.

But at least in that one Reed was a well known and respected scientist! Not an extra on Clerks!

Ultimate Reed isn't exactly a good example of being in character to be honest.

So, the unofficial word is that Krysten Ritter has been selected as Jessica Jones (where is my Jessica Drew!) in the Netflix series. Apparently she tested quite well with Mike Colter, who is going to be Luke Cage. I've never read the comic, but I am a big Ritter fan so I'm glad to see her moving on since Mission Control got canned.

I've never cared much for Jessica Jones, but I'm on board if Krysten Ritter is in it.

Its about time that Marvel somehow gets the rights back. This shows that Sony will probably not make a good Spidey movie anytime soon. They have absolutely zero idea what to do with the character and Marvel presented them the ideal solution to their preoblem and they didnt took it.

I honestly can't believe Sony didn't jump at the chance to distribute Marvel made Spidey films. That just seems like an easy way to line their pockets.

Especially since Marvel proofed with Guardians that they are now able to legally print money :lol

Why Sony didnt take the chance with this deal is beyond me.

Stubborn pride is about the only thing I can think of. The only upside to this is that they won't be shoehorning the Sony Spidey into the MCU. At least if it happens now, it will likely be a Marvel Studios built version of the character.

One thing I hope for a MCU Spidey is that they keep him away from the avengers like they are doing with Guardians and are about to be doing with Daredevil.
