I will say though, Kota is neither a coward nor lacking in motive. The only thing he has done that remotely resembled cowardice was wanting to quit after facing Zangetsu. And honestly, that is about as realistic a reaction as anybody can get. Yet, since we know there are tons of episodes left and that Kota isn't quitting anytime soon, can we honestly say he's just a coward?

A coward doesn't say, "If that's what it takes to protect you!" when told that he might have to fight to the bitter end.

A coward doesn't explicitly say that he'll use his armor to "protect people".

Heck even in the preview for Episode 4, he says "This is something only I can do! That's why I was given this power! That's why I won't run from it!"

It's true that Kota's motives for being a Rider is still in development, as compared to say, Wizard or Double at their debuts, he has only just become a Rider. His main motive now is to help out Team Gaim, NOT for money's sake. He even gave up his jobs to help the dance team in Yuya's absence. That's decently selfless.

Kota is not cowardly nor lacking in motive. He's earnest and selfless at heart, in the grand tradition of Riders at least since W. :thumb:
