Awe, I'm sad that I missed out on the pre-orders. Guess I'll wait for AmiAmi to open them up again. Getting a second ShiShi Voyager doesn't sound too bad as then you can display them all in combined mode at the same time. I really wonder if the final combination at the end of the series will use every single zord or not though. Still waiting for the first set though. haha.

:| about getting a second Shishi Voyager.
Also, even though I've owned Tousai Zyuoh for months, I only JUST realized that you can disconnect/reconnect the shoulder parts of the trailer to raise them and give the arms more clearance. That's what I get for discarding the instructions. |
If it makes you feel better, I didn't realise that for ages either :lol
|
I hoped for a second shishi voyager in this set as I like to have a robot form to use when buying a set. Having to look for a shishi on his only would have been rather annoying.
For what I can understand, it seems that the sticker for this shishi voyager set will be "different". I can't say what but the japanese text talk about the shishi voyager sticker so I can only wonder what they will do different there... Perhaps to have a slight difference with the first set ? Hey all! It looks like the full box (2 full sets) of the second wave of Mini-pla for Kyuranger has come back up for pre-order. The single set is still showing as closed. I have placed a pre-order for the full box and will be looking to offload the extra set if anyone is interested. Send me a PM if you want the extra set.
|
Beautiful work, kun2522! Might be your best Zyuohger job, yet!
It looks like the single sets of Kyuranger series 2 already sold out, since AmiAmi raised the price on it. |
I didn't see this clarified so I guess I will.
The different sticker for the second Shishi is the KyuTama. The first one had the cockpit design like the KyuTama that comes with the DX mecha. The new one has the special attack design like the one that comes with the Seiza Blaster. Looks like that's the only real difference though. |
Oh nice, may as well keep the box then!

Saw somebody run LEDs through Kyurenoh and it looks quite awesome:

That's... Wow. I wonder how practical that is to implement. The paint job is OMGBECKY good. I really need to learn to paint. The interior glow is one of the coolest things about Sentai mecha. Most just glow at the eyes, but Kyurenoh presents a unique opportunity to extend that effect, and it looks glorious.
|
Umf. I hope I can paint mine that well when it arrives.

What I did receive today though was the first set of KyurenOh! I think I'm gonna wait till the weather here warms up first and then paint them metallic. Haha. The LED mod looks really good but I don't know if it's something I can do. |
The preorder for the 6 pack for Vol 2 is open again on Amiami. Get it while you can!

It's back up again. I literally just ordered one.

So, I've never used the site (or any of the others like it) before. How long is it likely for AmiAmi to take to get more Kyurenoh miniplas?

Generally after the first preorder, they'll reopen preorder's once or twice. After that they'll take new orders when it's in stock. Occasionally they might restock one more time, but after that you're out of luck. If you miss the first window, as most (myself included) do, you'll want to use something like Figinstock to track when they come back in. That, or just keep an eye on this thread for someone to mention when orders are open/back open. |

AmiAmi has vol 1 Kyurenoh back up if anyone still needs it. |

I'm debating cancelling my preorder for super minipla Daizyujin. I want it, but looking at GaoGaiGar, it's Master Grade price for High Grade size and complexity. The zords lack articulation, and the T. Rex's mouth can't even open. For $55 I could get an actual Master Grade that's far more intricate despite the transformation with better parts seperation.
I wish I could see more detailed pics of the unpainted, unstickered model before release. |

I have GaoGaiGar on the way and if I'm not suitably impressed, I'll just flip Daizyujin for whatever I paid for as soon as it arrives. |
I just preordered daizyujin and forgot about it but now that I think about it, I got the Legacy one which transforms and combines as well as the SRC which is super articulated so I don't have a real need for the super minipla one. It definitely is expensive for what is but I'm still excited for it probably because MMPR and that it's a model kit. I also ordered it at AmiAmi which I don't think cancels easily. Haha.

I missed the pre-orders for vol.2 but when I went to check, I saw that they still had vol.1 available. That's left me hopeful that they'll have extra vol.2 and I can just order a set after it comes out. I'm loving the detail on this set, but dang some of the decals are accent parts are small. Also I was pondering that with Sprukits on the shelves and past performance of Gundam models, I wonder if Bandai has considered releasing minipla sets branded under the current Power Rangers season. |
As someone who owns GaoGaiGar, here's my opinion on it.
It's ok. Like, really, it's ok. Complexity wise, it's definitely HG, not RG. But otherwise it's quite faithful to the design. The Galion is honestly quite nice. The head's actually pre-painted, which was a plus. Same for GaoGaiGar's helmet. The transformation is pretty simple, but it is there, and is faithful to the show. The robot mode is pretty nice, standard posability for an HG gundam of its size. DrillGao? It's a drill tank. The drills spin. That's it. Looks nice. SleathGao? Largely a single hunk of plastic. The bottoms of the wings can come off, though not sure why. Has a nice stand though. It's a jet. That's it. They can attach to Galeon by themselves. Stealth on the back, Drill on the hands. Stand can plug into the bottom of GaiGar to help. Pretty neat. Honestly, LinerGao isn't great. Since the shoulder parts are just pegged into the center, they can pop out. And they will when transforming. Otherwise? It's a train. That's it. The combined GaoGaiGar does look nice. Drill and Stealth transform relatively easy, though I've never gotten the mane bits around LinerGao without them popping off. They go right back on, so no big deal. Liner is a massive pain to transform right, and I'm still not sure if I did it right You've got some accessories. Larger hands for both GaiGar and GaoGaiGar, pop on and off relatively easy. As well as the combined hands for that special move whose name I've forgotten. The Dividing Driver is hard to get on the arm, but it does stay on well afterwards. It's faithful to the show transformation, and besides LinerGao it is fun to transform. Not bad posability wise, though nothing amazing. Probably not transforming mine back any time soon though If you like GaoGaiGar's design, then I'd recommend it. If not, then I wouldn't. |
While I'm at it, don't get Walker Gallia. It's terrible. Because of the lower half's transformation, the waist joint keeps rocking back. Some parts don't fit together well, and the two halves don't really lock together. Seriously, buy something else.
May post stuff on Ideon later. |
Just ordered Kyuren-Oh and pre-ordered the next Minipla set.
I've watched several youtube reviews in the last couple hours and I'm convinced: Kyuren-oh'll be my first official mini-pla. I'm super excited- it looks super awesome- and I gotta say: original design....it is, I actually watched the gattai sequence on youtube and it's a pretty neat mecha. ^_^ If I can make one critique thing: The cockpits are totally exposed- there's nothing protecting the rangers. Considering their occupation and where they're fighting, I would think protecting the cockpit would be a top priority- but based on what I saw: Nope. LOL I can't wait for my Minipla Kyuren-oh to show up though man, it's a really impressive product. |
I received my set this week (separate small boxes not the big box).
I mounted shishi voyager this morning. It is really great. I thought that the panel inside the kyutama would roll. But if the sphere itself rolls, the panel stays as it. I inverted the stickers so I will see the zodiacal sign instead of the pilot (coc kpit seems to be a forbidden word ???) view. As seen in the bandai blog, the only difference with the second set is the sticker for the shishi kyutama and a part to fix the other voyager has another colour. |

The partsforming is eh. I know it's a minipla thing but I was hoping the "Super" would streamline things. The pre-painted face is nice, though. Whatevs, I'll keep mine. I just wish the T. Rex's mouth opened and the tiger's legs bent. |
I'm not surprised with the triceratops and saber tooth tiger. It's difficult to pull off ankle joints when the parts count on the individual models are so low.
|
I just figured it'd be a telescoping balljoint rather than a swing-down peg on a seperate joint.
Though I was actually talking about the T. Rex head having to be removed and placed in the chest upside down. |
