Well he doesn't have to collect the stones. It could be that whoever is sponsoring Paleo just makes them and gives him new stones and gadgets to test out every now and then
Really the story could just be about Paleo stopping the monster of the week and figuring out what their plan is |
The 4 stones are already in his possession once he becomes a rider. The omni stone is created later on. For the extinction stone, he could recieve it from the Extinct.
We're not going to add any more dinosaurs. He will have six forms and then maybe a stand alone "movie exclusive" form with a new set of four power ups. |
how about for how he gets the extinction stone, there's a member of the extinct who sympathizes with humanity, and only wants to live alongside them, but he sacrifices himself and gives his power to Paleo?

I think it's fine if he has all 4 at the beginning.

It just feels rushed and gives the main Rider too many options and too many doo-dads to play with without actually having earned any of them. |
Quick little vote then:
Paleo starting off with 4 base ambers - 2 Paleo staring with Thero then obtaining the rest later - 1 |
I personally don't care. But how about I offer a middle ground?

I dunno, if it's in a meteorite then it kinda implies that the extinct are aliens and not a species from the past. I think him getting the power directly from a specific member of the extinct would definitely work better.
I mean, extinct form IS supposed to be a form closer to the Extinct than dinosaurs. |
What if the amber that contained the meteor fragment was mixed with dinosaur and extinct blood....and bones...and preserved organs :D

Simply, it could just be the DNA of one of the Extinct generals. Perhaps one of the scientists in the Paleo development team wishes to study the DNA of their enemies for the sake of SCIENCE! Ray won't do it for him knowing it could be dangerous, so the scientist either consults one of the secondary Riders to do it for him or makes a nefarious deal with the Exinct somehow.
The thing is, by the time the final form is even in question, one or more secondary riders might be in play here. If the final form is really integral to the story (which I think it should be) it might be beneficial to decide who all the characters involved in the plot at that point are before fleshing out all the specifics. I think we're all in agreement that the final form should be something close to the extinct themselves in some way. So, we should design the generals, decide what the form does and looks like, then come up with the "hows" and "whys" later when we discuss the actual story events in further detail. |
Are you guy's going to be working on the main rider's bike somewhere down the line?
|
The best I can think of at this moment is that aside from the ridiculous physical strength of the form...it could have the ability to erode things by releasing the energy in its body by roaring , turning them to dust

Thero Class-"Episode" 1-Base form Quadro Class-"Episode" 6-Tank form Aerial Class-"Episode" 9-Agile form Aqua Class- "Episode" 17-Gunner form/Upgrade to counter the Secondary Rider Omni Class-"Episode" 23-Super form Extinction Class-"Episode" 32-Final form |
Exactly what I was thinking.
|
I'm fine with him getting the amber later on, but let's make the situation like this: He first receives the Paleo gear with the thero amber by the museum. A little later, they create his quad amber. Then they create his aero amber, then aqua, then omni, and the extinction amber by attempting to create the perfect counter for The Extinct.
|
I dunno. the idea of the museum making the form which ultimately is making him a monster kinda makes the museum seem either evil or irresponsible.
I dunno. it could just be me. |
Why not make that the point? This final form is all about questioning the boundaries between good and evil to begin with.
|
because WHY would they make a thing that's supposed to fight extinct make ANOTHER Extinct?
|
For SCIENCE! Or maybe because there's some corruption within the staff. Perhaps somebody made a deal with the Extinct. Or maybe some other reason entirely. There's plenty of potential explanations.
|
We've already decided on a museum making his rider gear. The museum is where Ray's parents work. The museum has good intentions, even when creating the extinction amber because they try to take away the corruption in the Extinct DNA for Paleo to have a counter for the Extinct, but when he tries it, it gets corrupted again and his final form becomes unstable.
|
What if the extinction stone already existed early in the story? We could make it that the museum made it out of the DNA of the extinct he defeat as the story went on , continuing to experiment witj it. but upon testing it, they found the stone to be unstable and deadly that they refrained from giving it to Ray until it becomes safe for use. or until the situation called for it.
We could also make Omni form one of their attempts at making a safer version of extinction form but due to not having enough extinct DNA in it, it wasn't as strong |
we could have it to where some of his amber stones get destroyed, so he HAS to use it.
I think that would make more sense than having him use it with the museum's consent and then backfiring. |
I like the idea of temporarily losing access to some of his forms. That's something I loved about OOO; that Eiji had to work with what he was given and didn't always have everything available to him.
|
plus, it would keep the museum sort of responsible because they made it but forgiven easier because they never wanted Ray to use it in the first place once they knew the risks.

When are we going to be done with this Extinct thing as start discussing the designs for the generals? |
Or. Lets say that during a battle with some uber general, his ambers get broken. The people take fragments of his primary ambers and make Omni.

What if the Extinction Amber is a bit larger and looks like a falling meteor. When it's inserted into the driver, the jaws bite down on its tail, but the mouth doesn't actually close over the stone. (As in, the mouth remains open with the Meteor visible between its jaws.) The magnifying glass that selects the power ups before could be some kind of limiter that increases the power level the further it goes. There could also be some kind of button interaction on the stone itself, perhaps. Maybe I could sketch something up to illustrate... The thought process is that (if these were actual toys) the Extinction Amber would be large enough to offer its own lights and sounds alongside the driver, unlike a standard stone. Beyond that, this form could have it's own unique weapon too, maybe. |
I didn't say he lost them permanently. They could fix the ambers, but while they were fixing the four primary, they made the Omni to hold him over.

why not instead of a meteor shape it can be an arrowhead, so that way the points can serated in a way to where it fits between the teeth?
