Hey, ordered myself a Complete Set of AI10 and a full box of Book1 since the Complete Set was sold out on Amiami. St least I'll have a spare Saber body.

You know what's bizarre? I just realized that SODO is the only action figure line right now that paints/details the annual transformation trinkets themselves. That's kind of nuts, to me.

Any ideas for my Aims bike repaint? I'm thinking of painting the yellow, white and add some gunmetal, blue and orange details.

Hey, so I stickered up the SODO OOO movie form set. They're pretty nice, probably not worth what I payed for them, but I'm happy to have them.

They look great! Nice job on the chest stickers, which (if they're anything like the non-movie sets) were probably a giant pain to line up right.

Second, disagree! For a show with so many Riders, to have the second wave be entirely dudes from the first wave... bummer. Bummer! Would honestly never have expected that that the second wave wouldn't include Bravo OR Duke OR Knuckle OR Marika. I mean, what we're getting are cool suits (Kachidoki looks AMAZING), but I'd've preferred a few other characters first. Really really hope this doesn't mean that the other Riders are going to end up as Premium releases.

I too wish we got some of the other riders from Gaim. This was clearly an easy set as they are the same bodies as Gaim wave 2.

Still, Kachidoki is one of the best suit designs of all time and the SODO looks amazing!

Confession: I still haven't watched Gaim. By "solid wave" I mean "The figures are cool looking and include a good amount of accessories". I do hope Gaim will be the first Chronicle series to get more than two retail waves, it'd be great to get more Riders represented in So-Do that anyone could buy

I mean, they are good looking figures! But in Build terms, this'd be like if Wave 1 was RabbitTank and Cross-Z, and Wave 2 was RabbitTank Sparkling and Cross-Z Charge. Those are good suits! But you need to do Grease and Rogue first.

Note: The build SODO line did in fact do Sparkling and Charge before Grease and Rogue

That's only because those suits showed up before those characters had a chance to make a proper appearance, iirc

Ooh, was not expecting a second wave of Gaim Sodo figures but then again I'm not familiar with the release patterns of the Sodo line. Still not sure if I really want to get into the line though since I'm pretty happy with where my Gaim SHF collection is at. lol.

Gaim Kachidoki Arms looks absolutely marvelous. We're honestly SUPER lucky to be able to have this available at retail. The amount of PVC that went into it means it was not a cheap thing for them to do. Also, I just realized all of these figures come with curved weapons...which means we get new hands just to properly hold them, even the DJ Gun in Gun mode and Taiken mode. All of these guys have 4 pairs of additional hands...that's kind of nuts. Honestly, the only thing missing is some way to store all those hands lol
I definitely didn't expect wave 2 of this line to look this way but I'm glad. It really feels like they just wanted to show off those new hands lol with 3 Sonic Arrow users and the DJ Gun, which has a super curvy handle.

Apparently next week, we're getting news on even more SO-DO, SHODO, and SO-DO Chronicle. Nice.

Ah, yeah, I get what you mean. You feel it's more important to have representation of more characters than it is to have the main characters upgrades. I guess it depends on whether you're a fan of Gaim's side riders, or mainly like the main 4

Sort of? Gaim's a show like Ryuki, where a lot of the entertainment is in the large cast of Riders. Drilling down into only three characters (that are in both waves)... it's just a weird thing to do for a Chronicle line which may only have two or three non-Premium releases.

But, like you and Chasing have pointed out, these figures look great! Kachidoki looks like an art piece, and the other three figures are great representations of those suits. I'm not mad at the quality at all! It's more just a disappointment, considering we don't know how few sets this line will have. If I thought they were going to do five or six, yeah, I'd be confident every main character would get a look in. As is, I feel like some are going to go untouched.

This got kind of buried by the Gaim SO-DO discussion, so bumping in case anyone has some advice.

I think the reason no one responded is because Mandarake is really your best bet. You can buy these boxes individually in Japan, but with their price point there's really no point in selling it secondhand outside of Mandarake.

That’s... a very surprising wave; I expected most of these eventually, and figured one Gaim upgrade and/or Zangetsu Shin would be wave 2; but didn’t quite expect it to be all of them! Very weird; Baron Melon especially feels like a premium bandai thing.

But, well, sure; that’s not bad! Gets all upgrades but Kiwami and Emo Ryugen out the way nice and quick. Wondering how we’re gonna get the alternate arms (Pine, Strawberry, Mango, Kiwi) if at all though...

If it’s any consolation to those disappointed, I think Gaim will be the first CHRONICLE line to get a third retail wave for one particular reason: Kiwami.

Aside from W (which had just one retail wave, fewer figures per wave and was their first time at this with less budget), all CHRONICLE lines so far have included the final form, and in fact all major forms of the main rider — Den-O, OOO and Kuuga have all done this without fail. And maybe this is the one time they won’t, but then it would be odd to me to not include Kiwami in this wave over, uh. Jimber. There’s also the fact that CHRONICLE has seen a lot of popularity and a large increase in budget — look at all the improvements in this line and how much paint they’ve been able to do. This blog even boasted of a new dedicated web page and tv ads!!

So, yeah, think we’re getting a wave 3 for the first time! Place your bets on who; I’m thinking Kiwami, Emo Ryugen, Duke and Gridon.

Talking of an increased budget... if there’s CHRONICLE news next week, going by how quickly new CHRONICLE lines happen one after the other, I think we’ve got a new line reveal next month. I’m thinking possibly Kiva, Wizard or Fourze, based on what SHODO isn’t currently covering.

Only other option I know is yahoo auction but it require a middleman to buy there. That make the choice really expensive as you will pay shipping inside japan and shipping to your country as well as a fee for using the middleman.

Given Lord Baron is a kaijin, he screams premium bandai release to me. Could be very, very wrong though!

Know what? Decided to go ahead and work a lot of this out, because Gaim has a lot of bases to cover.

Wave 3: Kiwami, Duke, Gridon, Kurokage (w/ Shin parts)
PBandai1: Bravo, Knuckle, Marika, Sigurd
PBandai2: Lord Baron, Ryugen Yomi, Pine, Ichigo, Mango, Kiwi
PBandai3: Bujin Gaim, Kamuro, Mars, Jam
Lottery: Gaim Yami

My logic for this is that they’d want to get all 11 in-series riders out as soon as possible (while still accounting for upgrades), and wouldn’t want to go beyond one premium bandai wave for them. The four in that first premium wave have always been p-bandai ordeals, while I think they’d want to have Kurokage at retail for armybuilding.
Following that I think they’d want to wrap up the in-series suits — so Yomi, the popular Lord Baron, and then the rest of the four boxes each go to one auxiliary Arms each. I don’t think they’d get release any other way, and having less bodies would likely mean more budget for Lord Baron.
Thirdly, the movie set and the lottery. I think lottery could go to any of Gaim Yami, Bujin Gaim or Jam but I feel the latter two have more appeal, plus they’d each allow more rep than just the soccer movie.

If Chronicle Gaim is very VERY popular even beyond a movie set, I could see a fourth of Zangetsu Kachidoki, Fifteen, Duke Dragon Energy andddd... *throws a dart at the Kouta form board* Gaim Fresh. That would 100% wrap up EVERYTHING that isn’t either legend rider or vcin (or suika because, c’mon), though these are all much more minor and from ancillary media. Still, I mean, we got Eternal Red Flare...

For Suika while it might mean nothing on the SHODO survey there is a specific option for Gaim/Suika Arms as something you want to see in SHODO-X and they have asked how much you would pay for "large machine, mecha monsters, etc." I wouldn't rule anything out yet for now.

If anyone wants a more show-accurate Rampage Vulcan, it's very easy to do. Just clip the wings in half, however you'd like. I personally used the same hobby nippers that I use for gunpla. Then, get 2 of those weapon joints(the one that comes with Thouser, Shining Assault Hopper, Metal Cluster Hopper, etc) together, and use em as joints that now connect Rampage Vulcan and his wing. What I love about this is that his left arm is now finally free and not hindered at all, like it was before. You can even replicate his first finisher this way, although the wing is nowhere near big enough.

Even though it isn't show-accurate, I want to get 2 more of those joints and use them to attach the other wing as well lol
