I'm a fan of the actress that plays her so I nearly reached levels of punch fist through monitor.
|
I never really saw Kaito as someone who was a villain at all. Anti-hero yes, but not a villain. He never really fought anybody weaker than him unless challenged and one can see that his "the strong should protect the weak" and "I must become the strongest" mentalities both coincide with each other. I mean, he had taken a lot of crap from people who were stronger than him and I can see how he'd be like "no one should have to deal with what I did." and just strove to become the strongest and tell the other strong people to get their act together. To me, Kaito is similar to Kouta, he just took a path that was harder.

Kaitos answer to this is that a world that needs prtoecting through lies doesnt need protection at all. If Yggdrasil thinks humanity is not strong enough to pretect itself against the incoming invasion it doesnt deserve to be saved and that this war thats coming is the perfect opportunity the decide who is truly strong and who is weak. |

Also, Yoko was awesome. Shouldn't have died. We'll never get female Riders as a recurring thing if the shows insist on killing all of them. |

and I can see why Kaito believing that a city that protects it's people through lies is a bad thing, considering Kouta also said he'd destroy a rule to protect people. I just don't think overlord baron should also speak for the character of kaito that told Kouta "become Strong Kouta Kazuraba" before Kouta managed the courage to use Kiwami. they both want the weak to be protected in the end. and if the mentality induced by helheim's fruit also speaks for others, am I allowed to say Hase always wanted to attack Rat? |

He wasnt talking about the City though he was talking about the WORLD. He wanted the entire planet to be overrun by Helheim so every last human on the planet had to fight for their own survival so that the strong can survive and the weak will perish. Their is no honorable mindset here. He was obsessed with strength to the point that he would sacrifice humanity for it. This is even supported by the very last scene he has in the show. When we see him as a ghost he talks with Mai and tells her that humanity was always too wek to survive and will soon do the same mistakes again and just wage war against each other causing nothing but pain and suffering. To this Mai replies that even if that happens humanity will just move on step by step learning from their mistakes and Kaito admits once again that she is strong because she can see the potential in humanity he never could because for Kaito their was only one way to save humanity and that was to destroy them so he could rebuild earth as a world only populated by those strong enough. |
The fruit didn't do anything to Kaito's mental state. All it did was give him the power to do what he wanted to do in the first place.
|
I still don't think Kaito actually wanted to purge the world. Vangelus said it best, it took his beliefs and made them super tunnel visioned. I can see Kaito as someone who hates the idea of the strong make the rules, but he feels he has to follow them in order to force a new set of rules to be introduced.
and I do know that you have to overcome the fruit's power in order to become an overlord, that doesn't mean it isn't changing you. I'm just saying, yes, Kaito was a villain near the end. but I like to think of him as a tragic anti-hero as well. I know he's not a hero, because he IS an anti-hero. |
I don't really know what to say other than that you're choosing to believe what you want then. You don't think he wanted to purge the world yet that was quite LITERALLY his entire plan and the show reminded the audience that pretty much every time he was onscreen
|
Yeah, Kaito pretty much said straight up to Kouta during the final battle that he planned on performing the Kamen Rider-equivalent of the Flood.
I see Kaito towards the end of the show as an Anti-Villain, if anything. |
;-; I just wanted to have a good time talking about Kaito and I feel really attacked right now.
jk jk. but I still like to think Kaito's mentality was warped by the fruit in some way. he kept his sentience but it still did a number on his mind in some way. he's still the character I don't want to agree with but I also can't really say he's wrong. |

Drive 1.
It was alright. I hope they explain The DriveDriver later. The humor was..ok I guess, it felt similar to Wizard's humor. |
Kuuga 18 & 19
Pretty powerful episodes IMO, the scenes with Godai in the hospital looked terrifyingly realistic. Of course you know he won't just die in the early half of the show, but damn these scenes had me thinking he actually would for a few minutes. Pretty cool to see white Kuuga again too, even though it's just his weakest and basically a protection form, rather than a fighting one. The human disguise of the monster was also pretty funny, I like it when they look colorful and silly. |
Hibiki Episode 11: Well Hibiki is definitely a Slice of Life anime merged with Musical/Elemental Demons who kick monster butt. Asumu still has issues from stopping the kids theft which is interesting though I feel he is hiding from his issues instead of facing them, I love that he got taken to Tachibana's when he didn't want to. I like that he found one of the hiding spots in it, I can't wait to see what he finds. I liked Ibuki's training scene the disk animals look great dodging his attacks they definitely feel upgraded; same with the villains who Hibiki's attacks aren't working against, and the Makamou seem to be gaining more of presence in the show rather than being random monsters. The mysterious villain empowering them is intriguing. Hibiki is so much fun, I love the Happy-Go-Lucky Main Riders they are so much fun. I can't wait to see how Hibiki deals with this threat. I also enjoyed the parallels of Asumu and Hibiki both falling at the end, I love when Kamen Rider does that.

Just finished Wizard and it's movies. I enjoyed it. And I think Den-O is next for my Rider watch. But I have a sentai to watch first.

Drive 2:
Ok, there's some interesting set up here. I hope they follow through with it. Blade 2: It's Khalice! and he's an angry dude...I wonder what his deal is. |

And nah, he's not that angry. More like scared, I guess. |
Hibiki Episode 12: Learning about Hibiki's past and more about the Oni's from Midori and Asumu's conversation was intriguing and a lot of fun. Learning that Hibiki wanted to be able to help more and couldn't when he was younger leading to him becoming what he is now is great to learn because it tells us more about his past and how he now able to help when he couldn't before. I am also happy that the story helped Asumu ease his own worries about not helping before too that he his able to get past his own issues learning from Hibiki's issues. Well I liked that Ibuki and Akira helped out the shop when the others got stuck downstairs, just makes me like them more that they are helpful when the others have trouble. Hibiki is fantastic, I love him studying his enemies that he couldn't beat before hand and learned that he just had to avoid them till their powered up form ran out, I like seeing a hero train to learn his enemies weaknesses and to get stronger, I think it's a great tactic. Also seeing the training helped immensely leading to his victory against them and then defeating the giant monster was awesome. Can't wait for more.
Hibiki Episode 13: I feel bad for Asumu having appendicitis during the beginning of High School just sounds rough, I wouldn't want to have that. This new Douji that became berserk is intriguing, I remember it from Battride War. That it is eating the Makamou is different, I mean for what purpose to you want it attacking it's own kind just to become more powerful, I guess it's a good risk if it takes down the Oni for the Mysterious Guy with the Staff. Ibuki kicked ass this episode, I love how he fights with his roundhouse kicks, and a lot of jump kicking was pretty cool. I like how the people back at Tachibana's feel bad for Akira and that she can't go to high school all the time because of her patrol, I feel bad that she doesn't get all the experiences from high school too but she is doing something really good for the people and something beyond herself so that's cool. Danki was pretty cool for his 2 second appearance, I hope he shows up more. Hibiki asking Asumu for help for Akira was pretty nice of him that he looks out for the others of the group is awesome. I am worried for Ibuki and can't wait to see what happens next. Hibiki Episode 14: Well it was great to see the first look of Todoroki and Zanki this episode, I remember them from videos I've seen and Decade, and well especially this being the fourth time I'm seeing the actor who plays Zanki in something. Can't wait to see more of them but they both seem like cool characters. I still feel bad for Asumu and having surgery sucks but I'm sure he'll be better in no time. Hibiki and Ibuki teaming up was quite awesome, I love how they are friends/co-workers rather than being rivals as the worked together quite well against the berserk Douji. Loved the teamwork that it took to defeat it between Hibiki, Ibuki, and Akira. I'm glad Hinaka mentioned that Asumu should be Hibiki's disciple because he should and I loved Hibiki's reaction to it too. I also loved Hibiki's reaction to him being in the hospital showing that he cares about Asumu. Well I can't wait to see Todoroki and Zanki in action in the next episode. =) Hibiki Episode 15: It was a lot of fun seeing Hibiki, Ibuki, and Akira hang out, just seeing them not hunting the Makamou humanizes them more. Showed a lot from Ibuki this episode even when not saying much but his teaching style helping Akira, and also teaching her to be patient and not rush in to becoming an Oni I really like. I thought it was fun that Hibiki wants a motorcycle and doesn't know how to drive but was driving Ibuki's motorcycle earlier. Zanki and Todayama are interesting characters, I could see why Zanki wants to retire you can see the trouble he's having physically being an Oni, but the guitar and the lightning is completely awesome. Todayama is interesting that he was nervous about taking over and I can see why it's a lot of responsibility to go from Student to Master. I can't wait to see more of them. |
Drive 3:
It was ok. Hey! It's Machine Chaser! Also, why did they assume it was the same Roidmude until they saw the number, and the different colored strings? Like, they look totally different. I also wonder how Proto-Drive became Machine Chaser, yes that plot point got spoiled for me :/ |

Lonely Soldier. That is all. |
Hibiki Episode 16: I have a ton of affinity now for Todayama/Todoroki because I can relate to the nervousness of graduating and now having all this pressure on you and how you have to find your own way in life not just use what you were taught, the messages the send in just this part with Zanki and Todoroki are a great example for kids. I like Zanki's teachings to help Todayama grow and train himself to find his own way. I also like learning more about Ibuki that he was young when he became an Oni and that he didn't make many friends in high school because of that, it makes me feel sad for him but I think he has good friends right now with the others and Akira. I also like that he wants Akira to enjoy her life and go to high school to have the experiences he missed out on which I like a lot about his teaching style. I really enjoyed Asumu and Hibiki's talk as well that was a lot of fun, learning how much Asumu helps Hibiki like Hibiki helps Asumu that's definitely a positive relationship and that Asumu has a polarizing figure/positive role model in his life has helped him become better in his life is great. Hibiki is a great hero right now and I am loving this show.

Started up Faiz.
Well, for the 4th time. But I promise, I'll finish it this time! ...I hope. So, stuff happened. I can honestly say I have no idea what is going on. |

Actually enjoyed Faiz pretty well right up until literally the last episode. Episode 50 ruined the first 49 entirely for me.

First 10 episodes of Faiz down.
So, Takumi is a rather boring protagonist. He's kind of a dick, but is more often than not just a set dressing. It really feels like he's just standing around until an Orphenoch appears. This kind of feels like Mari's story while he's just her glorified bodyguard. We also got Yuuji and Yuka not doing much, either (Side note: I know they wanted to make them tragic, so to speak, but I think they played things up too far with Yuka. Yuji's family and ex were complete assholes, but Yuka...How the hell does bullying go that far in school? Also, her family were unlikeably malicious). They do a little here and there, but it seems like they're going a long way to start their story arcs. There's also Kaidou, who briefly got to be the 3rd Faiz. Nothing much notable about him, though. Tragic past, yeah, but it kind of stopped being important out of nowhere. Also, brief glimpse at Kaixa. I'm not really getting into Faiz right now. Dull protagonists, a nonexistent antagonist (I'm sure the new president of Smart Brain is, but at the moment, the villainous actions have just been MOTWs with the same order of "Get the belt."), and no story (The closest we have so far is Yuji's arc). |
