Also Hiroshi Fujioka makes an appearance in the Agito movie so that would probably excite you. |

Anyways continuing with what I'm watching: Hibiki Episode 18: I just love how noble Ibuki is, willing to fight to stall the Makamou without his weapon or anyway to kill it just to make sure it doesn't hurt anymore innocent people. I also love that he continued fighting after the stomach sprayed him with acid, and was able to defeat it. Hibiki was fun with his reactions to Asumu working at Tachibana's and saving Ibuki from the Makamou. I am intrigued with the Dark being walking past Akira and knocking her out, and if it did anything more to her or just walk by her. Asumu was also awesome with taking notes for Akira, and helping Hinaka out at Tachibana's. I really love the family aspect of everyone at Tachibana's this whole group is so much fun and amazing. I am really loving this series so far. |

Anyway. Good to know you're enjoying Hibiki. :D |

Anyways on to what I watched: W Episodes 5-8: I totally love Shotarou and Philip they are so much fun. Shotarou was definitely interesting how he pretended to be the girl's father as Kamen Rider because he couldn't break the girls heart, I love how Philip learned how to greet her and helped him out, that was fun. Nazca is pretty badass looking, I can't wait to see more of him. I also love that the cat could use the memories and transform that was awesome. I absolutely love the Philip episodes when he couldn't open the Heaven's Tornado book, and completely got obsessed with wanting to know what it was. The Cockroach Dopant was pretty cool that it almost got away with the Memories except for the Heaven's Tornado and the dance fighting that was kick ass, I wish the Gaim Riders fought like that more. I love how Philip can look up and pretty much learn how to do whatever he did pretty instantaneously. I hope to get back to more of this. Hibiki Episode 19: Also called Todoroki rocks out and kicks ass. He's a total blast I love him too, all three of the main riders right now are awesome right now. I like Asumu's job at Tachibana's and the fun of Todoroki and Hinaka together and how nervous he gets. The boss and Zanki looking over Todoroki's guitar scene was pretty fun too. I also love the Disc Animals playing the air guitar with Todoroki was hilarious too. Hibiki and the dog was cute too. I can't wait to see Todoroki kick more ass next episode too. Hibiki Episode 20: I love that this show gives focus episodes to some of the other Riders and not need to focus on Hibiki. Todoroki is so much fun and awesome, I love how he expresses his own spirit and his own way to be an Oni, doing his guitar solos after the fight to purify the battlefield is really cool. I am glad Zanki came back and will be his supporter I think that's perfect for him, and I really like the dynamic between the two of them as well. Hibiki was cool cutting off the crab's wing with his fire sword ability from his drum stick. I am glad the Boss trusts Asumu and that Asumu didn't get in trouble for breaking the tea cup; I'm glad he's very understandable. Between Hibiki, Ibuki, and Todoroki they all freaking rock! |
I've finished Hibiki a few days ago and... feel depressed for what they've done from episode 30 until the final.
Actually, people used to talk about how Inoue ruined the series... I thought it was too much, but believe me, from the cool Onis all that's left is a bunch of crying babies... from 30 on, it's like someone stole your corn flakes just before breakfast :< To add, the plot is totally twisted at some point, like summer makamou coming out of nowhere, people getting beaten over and over, etc. Finishing Hibiki, I'll start with Kuuga now, hope to see if it's good as they say ;p |

Kuuga is not bad. It has some good action and moments, but don't go into it expecting A LOT of suit action. It is more drama than super hero show. Thankfully, it has good characters to make up for it. It's just a shame that ending sucked ass.
|
So I decided to pick back into Den-O and well all I can say is that I love Deneb. He is just such a fun character, and the show itself is just so fun to watch, with a nice mystery in it. It feels nice watching a Toku since June of 2014.

Never watched Kamen Rider before, gonna start the original series later tonight. I doubt i'll end up watching the whole thing, but I want to at least see how it was done originally before I see where it went.
|
Just watched the first episode of V3 and I have to say I think it's one of the best Kamen Rider opening episodes I've seen. It was perfectly paced and really felt like a higher stakes sequel to the original series. Definitely looking forward to more.

Shin Kamen Rider Prologue: Man, that was dark. It wasn't as horrifying as I thought it was going to be, and it was good enough. The movie made me feel for Shin (Yes, that's his name), and I wanted things to go well for him. Then they didn't. Overall, the characters were better than ZO and J, and the action was about the same. But something just felt... off about it. Maybe it just wasn't that fun- even though watching a bad guy's spin be ripped out is so fun! This just makes me wish Shin had gotten his time to shine... I give him, and the movie, 6.9/10. A different take on the story of "guy gets his genes screwed with, fights evil".
So, that's my 90's movie marathon over (ignoring Kamen Rider World). Next up is probably the non-canon Kamen Rider: The First and The Next movies. |

The Next is where they turn the few things that were good about the First and completely run it into the ground. |

And don't worry guys, I'll be fine. I survived the middle of Wizard :D |

In all seriousness, though, if you go in with really low expectations you'll probably find some enjoyable moments. If nothing else, the suits are gorgeous and the action is usually good. |

It really depends on tastes I guess. But my statement says the same. I had more fun when I watched one or two episodes of SMF because I was at least somewhat entertained and didn't feel like I was being made fun of as a fan of a franchise- but maybe that's because it's been ages since I stopped caring for Power Rangers as a whole.
Well, but at least one time, I had a good laugh in The Next. Flying combatmen. It took me some minutes to calm myself and I could barely breath. But... I don't think I was supposed to react like that :lol |
Watched the first episode of the original series. Pretty decent, but definitely feels very standard (even though i've never watched any other KR before. Maybe it's because i've seen early Sentai, and it feels very similar but with less members.) Might not be the best place to get into it, but I want to see what aspects are staples of Kamen Rider before I dive into the later series. I made the mistake of getting into Sentai with Zyuranger, a series that did a few things differently than usual, so a lot of staples of the series felt weird at first in comparison.

Drive Episode 18-19: Learning about Gen was really interesting. I felt there were a couple past Kamen Rider references in these episodes with the Button being a slight nod to Nago from Kiva and as I know the name Tachibana has been used commonly in Kamen Rider just hearing him be called Tachibana-San reminded me a lot of when Blade would speak to Garren lol. I really liked Gou in these episodes with how he was focused on destroying the Roidmude he was still just being a hero with saving the guy who ended up being the Judge and also jumping in front of the blast to block it from hitting Shinnosuke. I also like how both Shinnosuke and Gou learned how to use Dead Heat, and Mach is kick ass in Dead Heat I like it a lot more on him. I also loved how him and Shinnosuke both stopped Gen and Tachibana at the end out too. Chaser stealing Mach's bike was interesting and I love how Mach didn't bring his bike next time. Yeah them being able to share bikes is definitely a detriment for the time being but it's also something very interesting to the series too.

The original Kamen Rider is really a different beast. It still does alot of things very differently that later shows do better. They were still figuring out how to do shows like that on a weekly schedule. Its certainly interesting to watch to see where it all started.

Just started watching Gaim last month but I am VERY slow finishing series.
|
Watched a few more episodes of V3 and I am REALLY digging this show. The characters are great and the stories a lot more engaging than the usual Showa era stuff. Seeing V3 getting his ass kicked in episode 3 and getting used to his powers was a pleasant surprise. If it keeps this up it could very easily become one of my all time favourites.

I wonder how V3 compares to Black. I liked Black but I felt like it dragged on in certain places.

So with Kento Handa coming back again for this year's spring Rider movie and the DVD special, I kinda want to go back and watch some Faiz again.
Please talk me out of it. |

V3 is definitely one of my favourites. Surprisingly nuanced look at the nature of revenge too, how blind stubbornness and exclusive focus on personal grievance does not help ultimately. I'm watching Blade at the moment, and I'm really enjoying it. They definitely don't make Riders like this anymore. |
