Guess who showed up this morning, and was built in 3 and a half hours, and broke a bit because I was tired from getting up so early, and had to wait a few hours while I sorted out some business that frankly none of you really need to know...?

Ooohh, very nice!

It was a blast to assemble, but there's two little issues that in no way detratc overall, but had me noticing:
The feet on mine don't bend "straight." I think there's something wrong in there, but whatevs. Also, the visor. Looks AMAZING, so glad I painted the inside pice instead of using the stickers, but shit, could the bottom sprue have gone ANYWHERE else? There's a little white spot where it was clipped, and it's bit distracting. Luckily the rest was awesome, though my own stupidity assembled one kneed BACKWARDS and broke the leg, but not only was the damage non structural, it was totally hidden by the leg panels. The likeness is dead on, and the detail is amazing, like the Accel Driver. It even has the moving... brake? Not brake, it's something else... clutch? Last time I rode a motorcycle was in Boston... in a dream I had. It moves, it's great. The sword opens and witches memories. The bike mode is actually really solid and cool that they kept it. The bugphone is okay, just solid. Nothing to really care about. But Accel? Amazing. |

Also, in case you'e curious why he's not really gripping the handlebars in bike mode, it's because I forgot to put the extended ones on.

Well it definitely has me sold on getting the Figurise. May not be a big model buff but damn is that thing great looking.

Just be warned: these are not toys. They are models, meant almost exclusively for display. You need to use discretion when posing, as some areas may require delicate movement. Mine's right knee is VERY tight on the lower joint, for reasons I've yet to discover. Like, immobile tight. The polycaps mean these kits will almost never become loose. But, well, they'll never loosen up.

I LOVE the little Figurise Gadget Memories. I think in all cases, I assembled those first, and put a lot of effort into using a toothpick to get the stickers to go into all the little crevasses, and added some silver paint where appropriate to the Stagphone, just to get them to be as detailed as possible.
Honestly, those were big selling points for me. But I always was in love with the entire Memory gimmick, watching TJ Omega's reviews of all the DX Memory toy is what finally pushed me into watching Kamen Rider. And sadly, I don't own any of of the DX W gear anymore, and I never owned any of the Gadget Memories, except FrogPod, which is the second most lame one there is. I still really want to pick up the StagPhone and BatShot someday. *sigh* |
I think I'm just spoiled by the SIC ones. The Figurerise Memory Gadgets are just immobile, non-transformable pieces. The stickers are nice, but I will likley go and just paint the bugphone. (I never knew what the blue phone was called. I know ALL their names, but not it)
They're nice, don't get me wrong, but, I mean, considerign the model kits themselves have such borderline genuis construction and so many features and stuff, the phone's inability to even close seems... lax. |
