Not one but two more retail releases for a currently airing Toku show! How generous.
Both Bushido and Luminous will go up for pre-order April 3rd. https://tamashiiweb.com/item/15780/?wovn=en https://tamashiiweb.com/item/15779/?wovn=en https://i.imgur.com/hq4JaSk.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/Fd94l98.jpeg The tradeoff seems to be that accessories are pretty shit. Luminous gets - nothing really. The sword she never uses (wow) and the gun doesn't have the plush charms. For a "weapons expert" the figure sure lacks in that department. Cost saving measure or working off of outdated material? Your guess is as good as mine. |
Bummer that Luminous only comes with the sword and gun. With how many side arms/gadgets the Gavans have in this series it would have been nice if she came with the drill or something.

These were probably in production long before they were given any info or heads up about additional weapons and accessories that would be part of their arsenal.
I agree and hate bare-bone releases or figures missing key accessories that help define the character but I'd rather they get all of the Gavan characters announced and released asap while the show is airing and has some interest I think having them all retail is smart and the right decision especially with how hard it's been securing preorders of other figuarts. Although imo the price is giving Pre-Bandai pricing |
But they clearly knew enough about the show that they included a second, badge-less saber with Bushido. And even if they hadn’t planned which ones would get used by which Gavan in the show, the side weapons themselves would’ve been designed alongside the Gavarion Trigger so they could’ve included some anyway.

Well we all know this song and dance anyway; it'll be packed in with some upgrade or other character later down the line.
If the line gets that far. |

I agree and foresee a potential character release including those accessories although I don't understand why they just won't do more accessory or effect sets instead of potentially tying them to a whole figure release.
Both the Geats DGP head set and the Seihou Gaim arms set is what we need more of imo |

Figma really outdid themselves with that one. (the included dormant Guyver Unit 1 is also peak). So, yeah, solid choice! Now I'm patiently waiting for Guyver Gigantic. |
