SHODO XX-5 will release in October, orders open on 6/20

It's crazy to me that they are just giving up on the paint for the belt, arguably the most iconic part of a rider's suit. I hope the line can at least complete the Heisei main riders. Shodo figures are really nice for the scale, but there's just too much compromise.

Gaim got all that paint on the helmet and got damn near nothing on the body.

I painted my King Ohger Yudo with more interesting colourschemes. I love the suits, but I don't like the solid-colour deco.

Also I intentionally left Hachi Ohger's helmet blank because, honestly, I really dislike how he was the only one with deco on his visor. (he's also the only one whose actual visor is the negative space of the insect rather than the insect itself) Tonbo Ohger's visor was the easiest since his was the only one with all the black accurately separated except for the dragonfly's head, and after that was Papillon Ohger's because she was just missing the tiny little black bit on the mouth. Kuwagata was a bit frustrating because the beetle legs on his cheeks aren't super sharply sculpted, but the real annoying one was Kamikiri. Painting yellow on black is never easy, despite how deep the channels on her visor were. It still kind of looks a little messy.

Also painted Ohkuwagata Ohger, but I didn't change his deco too much. Just painted his gloves and made minor changes to his cape and belt. Also my dupe Kuwagata Ohger came with the modified sword, so I guess he has two now. :D

Wonder when we'll get the next wave with Spider Kumonos and the upgrade for red and grey.

Nice painting and that incorporated white makes them look like a classic Sentai team. I have a 50/50 like/dislike with the white gloves or boots are incorporated into a design that's mostly one main color.

I personally would liked if they incorporated more of the darker shades of each ranger's color for the king-ohger designs such as the koryuger's two-tone colors

Also new from Sentai candy toy: Yu-do KingOhger Limited Color Edition. A reissue of sorts, this PB set has the figures now nearly fully painted

The blog mentions reissuing Yu-do sets at retail is not always feasible, and in particular the KingOhger set has sold out and is hard to find. The intent of this PB set is to make it available again as "the definitive version"
