Just watched episode two of the first series. I love the horror-esque elements of it. The only thing I don't like so far is that it's extremely slow paced, but that comes with just about any tv show from the 70s.

Anyways onto what I'm watching: Hibiki Episode 27: Hibiki's Kurenai form is kick ass; now with having Super Speed he was just all over the place beating the crap out of this summer Makamou. Zanki's fight scene was kick ass, he still has the moves even if he isn't an Oni anymore. I am intrigued with what was going on to both Zanki and Ibuki how they were both paralyzed and couldn't move after what the White Puppet and whoever Ibuki ran into did. Tsumotu is interesting, it would make sense that his parents wouldn't want him to get hurt I feel bad if that's what he wanted to do but glad he still gets a chance to save lives as a Life Guard though so that's still helpful. I enjoyed his talk with Asumu and just enjoying that they are going into about Asumu being Hibiki's disciple because it's kind of apparent now lol. I loved Hibiki's talk with Zanki about that, and his impression of Zanki too that was hilarious. Enjoyed seeing more of Midori and her helping Hibiki fix the Disc Animals and that there is a lot more to their technology and weapons they use to fight the Makamou. I love that there is a mix of technology and mysticism to how they fight and the types of Riders they are. Todoroki and Hibiki battle against the main Cat Makamou was awesome I loved that Todoroki got the attack in against it on it's back and how they basically kicked ass and took names, just honestly an awesome battle here. I can't wait for more and also the movie looks like a lot of fun I don't know if it's another Alternate Reality movie but this one looks like a lot of fun. |

Hibiki Episode 28: Well the beginning was a little jarring with Asumu being depressed and damaged already and not seeing what happened but the flashbacks to something that we didn't see already was interesting. Hibiki and Ibuki taking out a random Makamou in the beginning was awesome, random interesting fight scene sure. Also that his Drum stick broke was intriguing with how powerful they are becoming. Seeing what looks like the Masters of the Makamou and Puppets were interesting, it's intriguing to see what there goals are and this new power up to the Makamou, Douji and Hime. Poor Eiki, I feel bad for these other Oni that show up just to get their asses kicked. I like that Midori was kind of hinting that Kasumi has a crush on Ibuki or something like that because I'm like totally shipping Kasumi/Ibuki lol. I am enjoying the trip with Asumu and Hibiki I hope this leads to more helping Asumu because he definitely feels depressed. I hope Todoroki and Ibuki can defeat the Douji and Hime because they looked like they were struggling with them with their new power-up. I think the change in Hibiki is coming up soon I am worried but curious about how it changes.

It's not THAT bad. Yes, I was hella pissed the first time, but I still think that if you watch a thing, you should finish it too. And honestly, the end doesn't make the rest of the show worse. Actually, the episodes before the change feel even better after it. |
So GreenLace and I have slowly but surely been making our way through OOO and I must say, at 17 episodes in, we both are thoroughly enjoying it. This series sure has a fairly interesting theme, much in the same way that W had, in that it taps into the weakness of humans through the Greeed's creation of Yummys from human desire.
Eiji is a great rider with a lot of potential (especially if my speculation on what his greed is is correct) and of the Greeeds, Gamel has landed a firm spot in being my favorite. I'm not sure how but some how they managed to make his relationship with Mezool both creepy and adorable at the same time which made episode 16 the hardest to sit through. Oh, and before anyone asks my personal favorite form is Tajador and I believe Lace's is Sagozo... though I might be wrong about that. Anywho, so far this series has been pretty fun and I'm looking forward to see where it goes... I'M STILL NOT COUNTING! |

Hibiki Episode 29: So much to like in this episode. Todoroki and Ibuki regrouping to kick the Hime's ass was pretty awesome and then fighting with Eiki to take out the Douji was also pretty great with them working together. Too bad they couldn't take out the giant Spider but they weakened it for Hibiki to take care of it. Felt like Monster Hunter there honestly lol. I really enjoyed the interactions between Hibiki and Asumu and how Hibiki helped Asumu get past his problems with blaming himself as well. I definitely feel a transition period is happening here with Asumu. I thought it was fun with Asumu's mother visiting the people from the Restaurant. Well Let's see how the story goes with Hibiki after the production change. I'm excited and scared.

Hibiki Episode 30: Well the first change I noticed was the lack of Asumu explaining the Oni and him changing in the beginning, that didn't really bother me at all. Kiriya is interesting, he reminds me of Junior Kabuto or Tsurugi's introduction in Kabuto. A guy who comes in and is good at everything yeah pretty much like Tsurugi's intro. He's a different friend for Asumu so it definitely changes the dynamic, I also find him fun so this is interesting right now. Hibiki doesn't shameless self promote at all lol, that line about the Seven warriors and a movie that just came out wasn't about the Hibiki movie at all *sarcasm* lol. Hibiki working in the shop was fun, this is definitely not his strong suit, he was so ready to go fight the new Makamou. I enjoyed the motorcycle action with Ibuki that was cool. The villains are intriguing and that we actually have the Makamou Masterminds make it more interesting to me. Well will see how this goes because I can't wait for more. Hibiki Episode 31: Well Kiriya is getting more intriguing and grating at the same time, hello Kusaka 2.0 we'll see if you get anywhere near he was. Though I am intrigued with what his connection or obsession to Hibiki is. I will say I don't like Ibuki getting chumped by the Makamou but still Hibiki was kick ass against it. I guess we're reaching the part where only the Main Rider can defeat enemies in the show. Did they forget the Agito approach? where everyone got power ups and were able to fight the monsters even when they got increased? I guess so. Anyways I enjoyed Asumu's story about learning what happened between his mother and father and trying to see his father. I think it was good to learn more about his history and see there really isn't that much bad blood between his parents. I hope Ibuki bounces back in these episodes too. Also I miss Todoroki and Zanki but they are back and it looks like it's getting close to Hibiki's ultimate form time too. Hibiki is fun like always but man he is not meant to work at the restaurant lol that is his weak point. I can't wait for more. |

Hibiki Episode 32: Ah now we meet the next intriguing person, Kogure. He's something else I kind of like him and not like him at the same time. He seems like he's overly critical when the fault was his own not the Oni. Hell even making them unable to transform is a risk that they shouldn't be taking against the Makamou; hell if Midori didn't study it he could have depowered all the heroes left. Well I don't mind when they all get their butts kicked lol, it shows these guys are really powerful and need more than just the Kurenai form or base forms. I enjoyed Todoroki, him wanting to prove himself to Kogure was great that he has been training and that there is more to him than just what there is on the surface. Hibiki is fun as usual and being calm and finding Kogure an interesting person. Ibuki is not getting much but I hope that changes later. Kiriya is becoming more of an asshole but I guess he's supposed to be Asumu's frenemy right now. Asumu is starting to see right through him so I'm starting to enjoy that more. The new Hime and Douji seem really fun and I am intrigued that they got the Armed Saber too, this might mean even more powerful villains. Since we saw the Makamou Masterminds; I have enjoyed them much more than before.

does anyone have a link on to watch the kamen rider 4 dvd special sub
|
I recently finished Fourze (okay), and I was going to watch Kyoryuger next, but I chose to watch Wizard instead. This year I'm planning to watch some Showa tokusatsu, specifically Stronger and Liveman. Then I'm going to branch out, start watching some other toku shows, like Garo (looks awesome, but can't find the subs), Space Testujin Kyoudain (the Fourze movie interested me), and Kaiketsu Zubat (it's tokugami's favorite toku, so it must be pretty good.).

So GreenLace and I just watched the 1000th episode special of OOO and I just have one question... Can someone please tell me who all the guest stars were? I recognized a few but can't pin them down where from. :lol

So episodes 20-21 of Agito have been really good. Really I can't think of a bad episode yet, the quality has been spot on the entire series.
The show is starting to make me sympathize with Houjou even though he's still a prick. And Aki's warning about Shoichi's past coupled with the reveal of the real Shoichi have got me grinding all the gears trying to piece together what happened on that ferry. Edit: The guitar riff that kicks in when Gills is fighting is just perfect. |
The Gaiden for Zangetsu and Baron is out, for those interested. Link to both are on Toku-Central's page on Facebook.
Also, buying the DVD apparently gives you a code to a site that let's you vote which Rider get's the next Gaiden treatment. Kinda want one for either OOO or Blade. Faiz has enough going on with his recent appearances, so as much as I like him, I'd reserve my vote if I had access to the site. |

I would super want a Gaiden series for Ryuki but then that is my personal bias. If it were for Gaim, I would like to see more of Bravo. |

Ryugen, Gridon, Kurokage, Bravo, Knuckle, Jam, Duke, Sigurd or Malika |

Saw episode 5 of Ryuki earlier. Does anyone know when Ren becomes nicer to Shinji? Because I'm starting to really not like Ren.

Not with Subs but I have watched the Gaim Gaiden with Takatora.
Christ I have missed this show a lot, especially Takatora and Ryouma. |
Edit: Wrong thread

Agito is 47 episodes of the same damn questions repeated over an over, then the absolute rock-stupidest explanation ever that seriously sounds like they ran out of time and just picked the laziest, cheapest explanation ever. It's insulting. Also Soichi is the worst rider ever. He's a total blank slate and does not react in any way close to a normal human being to anything that happens to him or anyone else. He's a sociopath at best, but the show treats him like a hero. |

I would not go that far with the description of Shouichi, I like him but I will say he isn't the best overall rider, Shotaro is still the best overall rider in my opinion with Shinji being my personal favourite. |
Up to episode 27 now, Aki's death was pretty sudden when I think about it. She gets a huge boost to her powers by the real Shoichi and then dies not 3 episodes later. I find it tragically ironic that what prompted her spree was thinking that Ryo had died, only for her actual death to occur fueling his own feeling and creating a grudge between him and Agito.
I'm curious about how she really felt about Ryo though. She wanted to use him just like she wanted to use Shoichi but the attack on him seemed to trigger some genuine emotion out of her. I don't think it was love but maybe something close to kinship since she seemed to feel sympathy for his situation. I love that Shoichi is constantly just rubbing salt into Hikawa's wounds every time they talk about the G3-X suit. Speaking of which, the V1/G3-X plotline was pretty underused IMHO. I was halfway expecting V1 to be the equivalent of Birth from OOO's and just show up to steal the spotlight but Hikawa's rampage killed that. More development for Ozawa. She's being shown as the type of person who can excel far too high for a particular task but rather than tailoring her work for the user, she makes something that is too unwieldy. It's also interesting that her initial response to realizing this is to ask her old professor to continue work on his project rather than fixing her own. And big reveal Shoichi got his memories back. |
