Gooby, please.
------------- I have yet to see it as I don't get Nick. :( But, I'll post a hypothesis to the aforementioned when I do. |
It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be, based on the previews for it + some of the reviews on here.
I did find the monster growing from their original fighting place awkward... but I don't think I would have noticed/remembered if people hadn't pointed it out on here. I was more concerned about the people who were freed from the giant concrete block without having pieces hurt them. When Noah is morphed, his suit is also a different color between America and Japan footage... but that also has to do with the film quality. All in all, it was a good episode. They also did a really good job of meshing the American and Japanese footage while fighting under the bridge. It was believeable that the lady Noah talked to / saved was the same lady as the one from the japanese footage when she is laying under the bridge. |
Other than that horrible bit of editing before the monster grew I have no complaints about the episode itself. I'm seriously finding it hard to care about Troy, but since I really like the other four its not becoming an issue that's severely affecting my enjoyment of the show yet.

Just saw it. Pretty decent episode, though I think Ep. 2 was better executed.
Andrew's ADR is still pretty meh. It's much better than Samurai's beginning though, and Samurai's ADR did pick up toward the end of the show. I was under the impression that morphing gave the user an enhanced strength, speed, agility, etc. I was somewhat surprised about the whole "Snake Axe" issue while Noah was morphed, and Emma's lack of being able to just leap onto the cargo box. Another gripe I had was modifying the Snake Axe itself. Why? How? Aren't these weapons magical? Granted by Gosei? Wouldn't they be relatively light as is? Or is it technological? If so, then perhaps Noah modified the programming on the card. Lastly, the monster blowing up and cutting back to the assembled Blaster (forgot the name) after Noah took the Axe and freed the civilians... I don't know. It's not logical. If the Rangers were standing there without the assembled blaster and Noah was holding the Axe, maybe. Not trying to nitpick here but it definitely doesn't make any sense. Also, I haven't seen much of Goseiger, but what I have seen, Hyde was something of a badass. I wonder how much footage was taken from Goseiger, because I don't see Hyde not being able to lift up the Snake Axe and Agri's Axe pinning Hyde to the ground... it's just seems too comical for Hyde. EDIT: I wanted to add that I like the double entendre the episode provided. Nice work Saban and Co. |
i thought the was a great episode :)
The way Noah got the sea brothers powers made me think of how the Gokaigers get their Ultimate powers, so this is too me is a great set up for season 2 when they're piloting the Gokai Galleon. Remember folks this is a kids show. You can pick on it all day but in the end you can either sit back and enjoy it or you change the channel. ;) |

Yeah, so far? This show is... Better than Samurai... But...
Honestly? It is falling a wee bit short. I just got done watching RPM, and honestly? That was a great show, but... I find myself comparing it to Megaforce. Honestly? It doesn't hold up at all. The editing is choppy and lackluster, which is almost a nod to MMPR, but even MMPR did it right... I hope this show gets better, because we are only three episodes in... But... The first episode sucked me in, the next two just plain sucked. ;( 2/10 |
