Zyuranger, from all I've heard, is a pretty mediocre show. The main reason it has any popularity is because of the American adaptation. Kind of like Kamen Rider Black RX.

Exactly. What killed it for me was that the first six episodes relied on 2-part story arcs (which consisted of the Zyurangers waking up to defend Earth once again, their struggle to acquire their legendary weapons, and Geki's quest to rescue his teammates and unlock the secret of the Guardian Beasts). Given the plot of each arc, Toei should've been able to do them in single episodes instead of dragging the audience over a cliffhanger and forcing them to wait for the next episode. I mean, sure, Super Sentai titles have multi-episode story arcs, but to do them consecutively at the beginning of the series?

Also, the Zyurangers are a somewhat serious team, while the Bandora Gang is all comedic. That somehow just doesn't mix well in a series. I think Ohranger had that same issue as well.

Sad to say, but as a Super Sentai fan, I actually found Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to be more fun to watch than Zyuranger.

With that all said, I think the reason why I stuck around for eight episodes was because of the ever-kawaii Reiko Chiba.

Are you serious? That is one of the best things about the early ZyuRanger episodes. It was when they started doing individual episodes that things got a little bland. THe show itself is great due ot DragonRanger and Kai, but it has way too many kid stories going on in it.

And not all of the villians were jokesters. Lamia and Grifforzer were serious while Bukubaku and Tatobas were goofy. Plus, Satan and Kai were serious.

How do you feel about DaiRanger then? The first 10 episodes were multiparters. Infact the majority of the series was as well.

The multi-part arcs in Dairanger weren't as consecutive as those in Zyuranger, and at least they were easier to follow. And they didn't give me a "WTF is going on?" moment like episode 5 of Zyuranger did when Geki was struggling to save his teammates and other innocent kids turned into trees when he was suddenly whisked away into a foreseeable future where his team was dead.

Another thing is that Dragon Ranger, Great Satan and Kai are supposedly awesome and all, but I'm not gonna sit through X number of filler episodes before getting to them. With all that said, can I simply skip several episodes before I jump into the Dragon Ranger arc?

Yes, you can. However, I definitely recommend watching episodes 9 and 10 since they start the season long story arc, and the episode with the snake and the golden apple is an excellent episode (I think it is 13). There is one character who does show up in the first DragonRanger episode that appears in episode 14 by the name of Gnome, but if you don't feel like watching it, you won't miss out on too much about him.

Just wondering, is Gingaman any good? All I've seen of them was Seijuu Sentai Gingaman vs. Megaranger, and that was more of Megaranger taking center stage.
