I don't want to be 'that guy,' but I believe XT is the previous Armor Hero series from 2011 or so. The current one airing is Armor Hero Lava. Also I have a review of the upgraded Mars Armor figure on Collectiondx is anyone is interested.

My god is this boring. Only thing the least bit enjoyable is the random name changes. Best one is them focusing on a making a sandwich and then try to pass it off as a burger.

After watching ep.1, all I can say is.. Toei doesn't have to bother about chinese competitors!!
Now, I'm going back to Gaim... |
Hooray!

The dub is ok. I might watch more.

The opening theme song is terrible but the show itself isn't that bad. The dub is a bit weird (I would prefer original language) but the voice actors are at least trying to put some effort into it.
My only real complaint so far is the reliance on green screen and pretty bad CGI. I'm going to keep watching. |
This feels like a 'The Asylum' version of Super Sentai. I'm not keen to watch more after episode one, that theme song is also really off putting.

I just wanted to jump in on this way late to point out that the "inspiration" isn't limited to basic ideas as the Armor Hero Atlas movie has a character who's basically a Kamen Rider Chalice / G4 hybrid (Armor Hero Techno), right down to the uni-visor and heart plate. The latest series (?), Armor Hero Captor, cribs the 'historical reference' vibe and the Genesis driver (well, sans the... SO-DA... mug and straw) from Gaim.
Not all of the designs are so blatant, some are really cool and they're all really well executed. I watched part of Atlas raw and thought it had some cool stuff going on, the filming was great and the fight scenes were well executed (better than the show, it seems?). I'm gonna try the dubs. Not crazy about dubs... |
