I just watched Gamespot's interview with Sega about Sonic Boom...the slowing down bothers me a bit, but it looks like an alright game. The 3DS version...those Rival races...more of that please. that looked fun!

Which game was it first time you guys played as sonic??
My first encounter with Sonic was a demo version of Sonic Advenutre DX which got the first level and others!! I then asked my dad to buy the real game, and I got it and played it with joy. And that has been my favorite sonic game of all time. I have beaten the game 4 times and I never got bored:) I really love Sonic, but it is such a shame that the games have gotten bad in my opinion in the years... well generations is a exception:D |

It might not be 100% awful, but it certainly isn't good by any means. All of the Genesis levels for Classic Sonic are copied right from the original source and a lot of the newly designed levels are incredibly bland and disjointed, especially radical highway. They all suffer from spring overload and ridiculous amounts of bottomless pits in the later half of the game, as per usual with Dimps. Even worse is the use and incorporation of the homing attack for classic Sonic which is needed to progress at times. Given how both classic and modern are in 2D this comes off as even more redundant than it ever needed to be. It just drives home the fact that dimps simply doesn't know how to make levels that don't have homing attack chains, bottomless pits in some vain attempt at creating challenge, or multiple springs/boosts to reach areas as opposed to well done physics for Sonic's own momentum. I will however give them credit for Classic Sonic's control and even his momentum isn't bad, possibly even better than the console version. However that doesn't do much when the levels are just so boring and the designs do not allow you take full advantage of these positives. Quote:

I'll give you the homing attack, but I completely disagree with about the rest of it. The levels were great, didn't suffer from bottomless pit problems to the extent of the DS Colours and Sonic 4 and the difference between Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic's Rush style gameplay was clearly noticeable.
It was a MASSIVE step up from Colours and Rush Adventure and way better than the massive let down that was Sonic 4. |

Sonic might be returning to its adventure and exploration roots in the Genesis games and to a degree, the Adventure games. Quote:
