Pat Striker, Magidragon, and on occasion Furaimaru all sell for rock bottom prices like that. Gao Lion can range anywhere from $30-60 and of course Machalcon is huge so his price is in that 60 range as well. But the average machines are very cheap.

You DO realize this is at a MUCH cheaper price point right? Because part of the reason some of us don't get the Japanese versions when they come out is that they are much more expensive right? I might get this one if I can get the funds together by the time it comes out, and then track down the rest of the Gokaiger mecha at a later date.

See that's the stereotype people inaccurately perpetuate. That the BOJ versions are vastly more expensive. But they certainly aren't by the "hundreds" of dollars lots of people like to exaggerate about. The US release of said BOJ toy is actually about the same price as it was when released in Japan, except the retail price here at around $80 equates to the Japanese price of $40-50 and shipping charges factored in. I bough this figure 3 years ago for 3000 yen plus shipping so about $55 in total.

So this figure runs you more now because US retailers charge more, there are more fees to factor in as a retailer. I think it's fantastic we're getting real sentai toys in the US again though. I know it'll never get back to the good old days of minor repaints of the real toys being released here, but I like to think the collector's market can keep these imported releases alive.

Even that's on the expensive for Gaolion; he circles 2000Y to 3000Y usually and I've even occasionally seen him for 1000Y if he's opened! You just have to be patient for those looking for the Gokaiger mech and you'll find some amazing deals. 1000Y-1500Y is the standard for Magidragon and Patstriker and 2000Y is average for Fuuraimaru. They're definitely pretty cheap and I think they're worthwhile, particularly Patstriker and Magidragon. Gokaioh's gimmick is my favorite ever. As for Gokaioh himself, after shipping he probably ends up at around the same cost as the imported version, so you might as well for this import.

The role play toys are another story, though. I'm trying to find a Gokai Gun for less then 5000Y with no luck so far.

I always see people talking about the lower prices of Sentai toys, but aside from quickies like Amiami, HLJ, CS Toys, Amazon, Ebay, or scouring Mandarake, I never see any decent guides or quick links of places, just discussion. Discussion is boring. I want to know where to enter my credit card number.

For the adult collectors, the lower prices are more accessible, and more easily if you know where to look. Supply, ease of access and patience are just as important as price and quality of product.

There's a reason I have a page on my blog dedicated to every nook and cranny you can find Power Rangers Super Megaforce, Megaforce and Legacy toys. If you ask me for a Legendary Megazord, I can give you millions of links online and item numbers for stores, but ask for an MMPR Green 5" figure, I can tell you Ebay and Amazon corner the secondary market and give you an idea of the chances of finding it at retail, not a "Oh wow, it'll probably be $20-30. Good luck finding it."

And if you ask us for information on import toys there are stickied threads in our marketplace for reliable sites to use. It's ridiculously easy to find what you're looking for when it comes to imports. I think most of the time people are simply not willing to make an effort to look and instead just assume it's too difficult or too expensive.

Go to Mandrake, go to Amazon Japan, Yahoo Japan. There are plenty of options to find this stuff cheaply/easily on the secondary market and this stuff pops up all the time on those sites. So again, the whole "Japanese toys are more/too expensive" thing really doesn't hold water a majority of the time. If people aren't willing to look around for a good price and would rather settle for what we're given in the US, that's fine. But saying those deals can't be found simply isn't true. Take that sweet & cheap Bragigas you got on Amazon for example.

That statement sums up my exact point. And seeing as these items are for collectors anyway, it really shouldn't be that difficult for one to understand how to find these things. Again the afformentioned sites may not stock each item 100% of the time but they are indispensable resources for finding such items. And other complimentary sites like FigInStock which alert you to specific search terms you set up with them aid in the search even more.

Quick links aren't a thing that can just be drummed up immediately for all Japanese imports. There isn't always a glut of those products floating about like on retail shelves in the US where they have to be clearanced every so often. It just isn't the same retail/business model. But it isn't difficult at all to search for these items either.

Though I've known they were there and used them, those threads are in one of the last subforums I'd check for them. My first thought is in the main toy subforum. :)

They used to be there, until we got so many other stuck threads in that section, now it's chaos :lol

So we thought the Marketplace was likely the best place for them from now on.

Might actually get this one if it isn't too overpriced here.
