I think the Melon Energy Lockseed is somehow reacting to Micchy's insanity. He's become unhinged, he's not holding anything back, he's out of control, and the power is flourishing.

I'm sure it will be explained at some point, as they've already hinted at something happening with Kouta because of his Lockseed.

Eh, probably in the middle. As good as the actor is, his laugh comes off as rather silly.

Though I can agree with Mitchi's insanity fueling his power to some extent, it's completely different from Kouta's case. Has it ever been stated that the Energy Lockseeds were artificial or what not? I mean the suits look like they're based on being not-natural, but Kiwami Arms has Energy Fruit Armor Parts. And Kiwami Arms was taken from the seed of the Forbidden Fruit, so what exactly are Energy Lockseeds then?

They do give off the impression of looking more "artificial", but I think they are as artificial as the 1st gen lockseeds are, only difference being they probably require more care and effort into harvesting since they carry much more power. Think 1st gen lockseeds as those rechargable batteries you used to put in your portable game system and energy lockseeds as lithium-ion batteries.

I guess not, but the Kiwami Arms henshin would've included the Energy Arms either way since, you know, toys.

Regardless, only the immature fruit changes people (into Invess). There have been no instances of the Lockseeds changing people minus Kiwami, so having that being the reason for Mitchi's power boost would be really contrived.

I feel the problem with power levels fluctuating according to plot is because there aren't enough powerful entities in the character lineup to serve as gatekeepers to the final boss. Kiwami is obviously powerful enough to down any Overlord, even the supposedly stronger Gurinsha. That means aside from a godlike Roshuo, if the Queen doesn't do any fighting herself, the story is left to using existing villainous folk to provide obstacles for the hero. Which is why Micchy has to move up the power scale and occupy such a role... Unless all the Overlords get a humongous power boost, or the writers come up with something else more ingenious.

Anyway... I think the pacing of the show had better speed up. Things seem to be slowing down and we don't seem to be moving towards resolving major plot threads.

If there's no episode cut, then we have about 10 more to go. I hope they don't push the last lap into just 3 or 4 episodes. Urobutcher, I'm you have better pacing skill than that!

Honestly didn't expect Mitcchi to go full on MacBeth. I mean it's not like Takatora is BanQuo or anything right now. Nope.

My theory: Both Mitcchi and Kouta are becoming this worlds versions of Overlords. Mitcchi now has nothing to really hold him back so he's going straight down to Sour Grapes land. With Takatora out of the picture and our theory about how Melon is actually evil fruit, it makes some sense that Mitcchi just took a major step towards the dark fruit side.

I think what you said explains why this episode took a chunk of time to show Mitchy cast out the image of his brother. The writers are trying to cradle the transformation of Mitchy from one extreme to another throughout the entire show. Today's episode was really the crowning cherry of insanity. He can only go deeper.

Also, while he has tons of plot armour and steroids in this ep, I think we can attribute his immense power boost to his utter insanity. Having no mercy does increase one's aggression in a fight, and that includes the ability to take hits.

You know what, that actually makes a lot of sense. I guess this is why Urobuchi is calling Zangetsu the Ouja of the series.
