I live in an apartment, so I'm going to move again sooner or later. As such, I keep my boxes store in my closet because I'm going to need t pack the figures up eventually. The biggest pain is going to be putting every figure away though. But I would rather do that than take a chance and someone getting broken.
Of course, the only boxes I would get rid of after I move would be the Figuart Zero ones. There are just too many accessories in the regualr Figuart boxes to just get rid of them. |
I keep all of my boxes for import toys, even stuff as trivial as sofubis, since my import collection isn't quite that big yet.
|
I keep them, just so I can repackage them for transport or if I ever intend to sell them.
And it would feel pretty bad to rip these sweet boxes apart. They may not be the real deal, but I'm amazed how much detail and work they put into these. Makes sense of course, packaging is the first and sometimes only thing customers see, but its still pretty cool to see all the little details and amazing artwork they put on some of these boxes. Some packaging is so good, I use it for display alongside the figure and it works out pretty nice. |
I keep most of my boxes. I keep too many boxes.
Super Sentai DX mecha? No brainer on keeping the boxes because they add to the value. With figmas & SHF figures, also a no brainer since the boxes are small and help store accessories. Modern Transformers? That's where it gets tough. I was keeping most of my Voyager & larger boxes, but there is so much dead space in them. Just recently I purged my Voyager-class boxes. Similar with modern (Samurai and onwards) Power Rangers Zord boxes. So much wasted space, so I started tossing them. |
Whatever boxes I get I keep, I've got Ranger Key packaging in with other random shit in a big box, I've got Figuart boxes in a big box. Also Megazord boxes stuffed in my closet.

I keep Figuart boxes really only for the off-chance that I might want to sell any of them. Gundam boxes, on the other hand, have absolutely incredible box art, and I keep them for that reason. Anything else with cool box art (the Lion Mechazord, for example) I also keep.

For SHF's I keep all of them for parts storage. For domestic toys I'm far less likely to keep the boxes but on occasion i do.
|
Given the Figuarts boxes as well as Figma are designed to be storage spots for your figures if need be, I keep them and storage my figures when I need to inside.
|
For japanese toy boxes I'll store them in my closest. I've got a mountain of Figuarts/D-Arts boxes in there (which would be easier if there weren't non-uniform sized boxes). Everything else I'll hold onto in case I have a problem and need to make a return for a week or two and then throw it out. I have been trying to convince myself to throw out DX role play toy boxes though since they take up so much space.
|
I keep pretty much all the mecha and roleplay boxes from I get from Japan. Anything like the gaim lockseed boxes gets recycled.
