Gaim has been a great series, in fact it was the one that finally got me into Kamen Rider. I'd been aware of Kamen Rider for several years but never had much interest, but the fruit armor finally brought me in! I saw pictures of Arms Change everywhere and was completely baffled by armored men dropping giant fruit on their heads that unfold into armor. I bought AC Ryugen out of curiosity and thought it was really fun, and next thing I knew I was buying more of them, watching the show, and catching up on previous Kamen Rider seasons I thought looked interesting, and I've been hooked since!
Basically, all of that is to say, thanks to Gaim for introducing me to the awesome world of Kamen Rider! |
Gaim's the first one I've seen live as it happened, so it'll always be special to me in that regard. I kinda felt connected and involved me with the characters then I have when I watch past series. I guess it's because with those I'm watching the episodes marathon style, so I can immediately learn what happens next. With Gaim I've had to wait week after week to find out what happens after the last episode ends, and it builds your eagerness and connection to the characters IMO.
Point is simply Gaim is special in that it's my first series I watch as it airs and has made me care for the character quite a bit. |
Damn it, I have to go to Twitter to take part? Argh... Fine.
Much like Winston and ShyGuy, Gaim was actually my "first" Rider series. Funnily enough it found me right at a point in time where I was much like Kouta early on- more or less just drifting between being a kid and being an adult. I think watching his journey has helped me steel my own resolve in a huge way. |

I learned about Kamen Rider through the grapevine. I watched Masked Rider in the 90s intently, but I was none the wiser.
I happened upon Wizard towards the end of its run, when Gaim was announced. Suddenly, Gaim was my gateway drug to Kamen Rider. Suddenly, FRUIT WARRIORS GALORE. LOCKSEED ADDICTION. FRUIT-ARMORED PIRATE ASSASSINS. (Thanks, DenO) I can't get enough of Gaim. It will always have a special place in my heart, mostly because Kachidoki is a BAMF. |

Like a few others here Gaim for me was my first rider series that I watched weekly, and again like others I thought the whole fruit motif was a bit lamed eventually over time with more and more promo the Orange Samurai grew on me, and then came the 1st episode and I was really just blown away of how it settled in as the first episode. Gaim is also the first rider series where I bought their belt from as well as buying the Gaim Figuart right when he was released. So yup thank you Gaim you were awesome and I hope however you come back for future crossovers they do you justice"hopefully".
