I have to agree with you here as well.

MPR wants things to be a certain way but everytime we offer opinions or helpful advice he just shoots us down.XW1 summarized the point of this topic beautifully but time and time again MPR ignores us and our thoughts on his topics.

To be honest I'm getting sick of his obsession with having a male Pink Ranger. He has said nothing on why he want this so badly. If he would just take the time to give us some justification as to WHY the world needs a male Pink then perhaps maybe this could see light as something needed.

As of right now it's just another topic about something that will never happen, apart from ToQ and Gokai Changes. It's either going to just be in fan fics or remain a dream, but topic after topic about this one thing has gotten old fast.

The reason I would like a male Pink Ranger is for children to learn that pink is not just for girls. Here in Arizona, I see a lot of men who wear pink shirts, and none of them that I have met are gay. As long as he isn't gay, it would teach children a good message that it is perfectly fine for a man to wear pink.

Yes, I know that in the series they said Timmy wears pink because his parents wanted a girl, but the true reason is that Butch Hartman's blue marker ran out of ink, thus he decided to use pink instead. Plus, in the live action movies where Timmy was portrayed by Drake Bell, Timmy still wore pink, and those were not women's clothes.

So you want equality for the color pink, but only if it is to YOUR specific requirement. That is not equality, that is simply putting that specific section of people down. If you feel so confident that Power Rangers having a male pink ranger would promote a good message than it shouldn't matter what their character is like correct? I mean you've fixated on the color so much you have not even presented how you think the character should be written. The argument can be made that if it was a gay character it would bring about an "Oh of course" response, but if he's presented and written as a strong character than doesn't it get the same results? Common sense dictates that it would.

However you do not use common sense. As I have stated with others multiple times, these topics are basically your soapbox where you can spew your opinion. If any of us disagree or challenge that opinion you simply wave the possible discussion off or tell us that we're wrong because it isn't what you specifically want. You claim to want equality but constantly state that only a specific type of character can utilize what you claim needs to be showcased to show equality. It doesn't really matter if Nickelodeon has a character that wears pink, or if another network has a character wearing pink. The color does not dictate the personality or how they are written, nor does it ensue that they will be a good character from a written standpoint, acting standpoint, or fan reaction standpoint. Your logic is just plain and simply absurd.

I'm not sure why you're so fixated on sexuality when it comes to color and characters. Perhaps you're not sure of your own sexuality and your personal preferences to specific colors, so you think up these ideas as a way to dictate how something may be as a way to distract yourself or get out any ill will towards these thoughts. However in the end it doesn't really matter what your reasoning is, the fact of the matter is that you are creating topics as a way to preach your own ideology. Anybody who does not conform or meet your exact thoughts or qualifications do not matter or exist. They are not good for a forum based around discussion if you never acknowledge and discuss, you ignore and go about promoting your own thought process. These topics are all basically the same and if you limited it in the beginning to just one "What Colors Would You Like to See in Power Rangers" topic than really there wouldn't be a problem, though I suspect even there you'd put down other members' opinions. In the end I don't think this is truly about color, no, for your topics always have this overhead question of sexuality in them which is, frankly, unneeded. We may be at a place in time where we're seeing more sexuality hinted at in shows, but that doesn't mean we need it in every show or to be at the forefront of every debate. And considering you're being rather negative in how it has to be executed it just leads to nothing more than a person showing just how insecure they are with that topic, and possibly with themselves.

I ask this for all of the members on the forum who have grown very sour of your little "discussions;" please stop creating them. They lead to nothing and offer nothing. Please, once more, just stop.

Yeah, I think the shadow of "angry parents" is going to become less and less of a hurdle as time goes on.

I mean, just a few channels over on CN you have one series in which a main character has gay parents, and another in which one of the main characters is a gay relationship. Times are changing, and the attitudes previously preventing things like this from making it to television are changing as well. CN is mostly an outlier so far, of course, but it definitely shows that a network can do this without exploding or having to worry about angry parents...

Oh yeah, that's right...I've forgotten that Flash has a character that's in a homosexual relationship, and they aren't afraid to remind people either.

I would honestly not care. It's not that big of a deal what color or preference people have.

To be fair, no matter how amazing said character could be written, that's like if Gaim had an African Rider who's lockseed was a Watermelon. There are too many negative images and words tied with the combo for it to be a good idea.

Not agreeing with MPR, but the "Oh of course" response is likely as far as most people will get when they view a gay ranger + pink. Common sense is surprisingly not as common as we make it out to be.
