Well, this episode was everything I wanted and then some. I don't really feel there is a need to say more. This show is on my top tier of favorites.

Masamune humming one of insert songs is a cute little gag. It's also probably the clearest version of that song you can hear right now.

Them using Hyper Muteki's invincibility feature is cool and that one shot of Brave fighting Cronus while time was frozen just looked awesome.

So the bulk of this episode deals with Parad finally appreciating the value of life and by the end of this episode he's now a hero/anti-hero, depending on how next week episode goes. The scene where he breaks down about how scared he was from his near death experience was really good. The problem however is just merely the fact that I don't care about Parad. Out of all the villains we had, he's probably my least favourite due to how weird and kinda inconsistent his characterization has been. It's hard to explain what exactly I mean but I was just never able to really grasp what Parad's motivations are or what his end goal even is, which is something I can say about the Bugsters in general really.

I mean this episode tries to blantanly spell out what Parad wants, from wanting to be like Emu to wanting to have exiciting battles with him. The show however has kinda contradicted these statements by the fact that we've seen him trying to further the Bugsters goals, whatever they maybe by doing things like hijacking Kamen Rider Chronicle. This isn't like say Heart from Drive who considered Shinnosuke to be his worthy rival but is still dedicated to the endgoal of the Roidmudes. Parad is absolutely obsessed with Emu to the point that I feel he shouldn't even care what the Bugsters are trying to do unless it furthers what he wants with Emu. I guess that was the point of him taking over Kamen Rider Chronicle but that certaintly wasn't communicated well enough. Heck the whole thing about him supposedly not caring about life before is also not really true since we've seen him value the lives of the Bugsters like when Burgmon died. Then again we've also seen the opposite when he casually decides to kill Revol and was going to do the same to Poppy after she became good again. Perphaps I'm just being an idiot and not understanding any of it but it just seems to me like the show didn't entirely knew what to do with Parad.

All that ranting aside, Emu and Parad teaming up against Masmune was really cool. I also liked that the Mighty Brothers gashat is getting used to some extent and hopefully is used some more in the future.

Then Masamune hits the literal reset button and fades Hyper Muteki out of existence. How the heck did it happen? Tune in next week.

The Bugsters are pissed off NPCs from video games who were tired of being killed by humans over and over again for their entertainment so now they want to reverse their situation and make a game out of destroying humans.

Parad (up until now) agreed with this, but he also wanted to establish himself as enough of a threat so that Emu will fight him seriously, hence why he takes over Kamen Rider Chronicle. He probably took the primary Bugster goal much less seriously than Graphite does, though. Parad's just in it for the fun.

Parad's thing has always been about playing by the rules. He didn't actually care about Bugsters or Humans being killed off (especially not Bugsters, since they can be revived), so long as both parties were willing participants. However, Kuroto killed Burgmon in coldblood for seemingly no reason other than pettiness. Revol was fair game since Revol attacked him first.

Poppy was also fair game since she was a Rider, and was inevitably going to fight other Bugsters.

Of course, things changed drastically when Cronus came along and established firmly that it's no longer a game for the Bugsters anymore.

Is the reason for their sentience be because they took on the appearance and personalities of video game villains?
