Again I am not saying you shouldn't be exciting for the possibilities. Plus I will admit a lot of this critical thought is due to my worldview. That said I think being skeptical of corporate maneuvers is a good trait. |
May be now Hasbro & Shout can put out a 5th Megaset of
Samurai Super Samurai Megafore Super Megaforce Dino Charge Dino Super Charge Ninja Steel Ninja Super Steel. |
Will Hasbro work with Bandai of Japan when it comes to toys for shared development/engineering? Or will they develop everything on their own so as to not damage the relationship with Takara

Hasbro's licensing deal with Disney is up for renewal in a couple years. There's a real possibility they lose both Marvel and Star Wars. With the Transformers movie no longer raking in the cash, and the rest of the "Hasbro Universe" DOA, Power Rangers is something Hasbro needs to succeed, possibly even survive. There's also the "nowhere to go but up" aspect. Bandai America has been doing a lousy job. Even a mediocre Hasbro effort would be an improvement. |
Power Rangers is still co-license with Toei. Hasbro may not have full control over everything with PR. I remember Disney never did neither back in the 2000's.

Well, that's just Prime
Get it? |

That said, I imagine Hasbro will do their own engineering. This...may not be a good thing. Hasbro has a track record of not doing Transformers designs well when Takara isn't there to lend their expertise. Brian Chapman is the Head of Design. Depending on who they hire to work on engineering underneath him (John Warden is the Transformers senior design manager, BTW), I'm slightly afraid we may end up with a few dumpster fires before we get things properly made. |
