Love how the red rangers dad name dropped some of the past power rangers. It's About Time A Power Ranger season started doing that again.

Was it just me or did the comedy relief actually seem kinda funny this time?

A pretty promising start.

I liked name-dropping the villains; if we're claiming all the shows share a continuity, let's acknowledge it.

I'm reserving judgment on the comic relief duo.

She will probably shift her colors to look more like Escape in the future! The way they built-up Roxy and Ravi is clearly to add some depth to the Go-Busters footage which had Blue and Escape duke it out more than once.

Pretty much accurate! Though given what actually happened to Blaze, it's difficult to view him solely as a solid jerk, as the "Cybervillain" version is fueled by Evox and amped-up to "jerk times ten"!

First episode does give off a degree of hope, though first episodes usually double-down on the potential before having subsequent entries level-off.

The music was still trying to echo Bulk and Skull, but by having them work in the same location, they could become integral to the plot, as opposed to some random bunch of students/friends who are shoved into the plot just to try and balance it out.

"Rita Repulsa, Sledge, Galvanax." It's not entirely clear if this is an alternate dimension or the "main dimension", but the majority of P.R. villains are public knowledge, as Mighty Morphin' constantly showed that Rita Repulsa was essentially "Public Enemy #1"! Odd how the Mayor didn't say Lord Zedd, but it's excusable since the franchise didn't start with Zedd, and Sledge and Galvanax are more recent.

Given the Mayor's reservations, it's clear they will follow the "theft of Enetron" from Go-Busters while also going further with the potential political ramifications of relying on something that somebody wants! Also, the Commander didn't want to show the Mayor the team's faces, suggesting right from the start that Devon will be keeping a secret from his father, a secret that could influence his father's decisions.

Perhaps they'll also explain in the future, though I'm not holding my breath, why one city is experimenting with Morph-X and how this city was "chosen", especially since the Mayor is opposed to the idea.

You also have to wonder what the Multiverse and the Veteran Rangers are thinking, such as: "Government is finally taping into the Morphin Grid without consulting us or thinking twice!" It's not the first time something like this has happened, where a government agency is creating its own Rangers, but it is the first time where humans are saying that the energy of the Grid can be used for more trivial matters.

The set-up is there and upfront! I go in this with hope that the franchise will restore itself and become a major player once again!

P.S.: Have they axed the binoculars and camera from Go-Busters or not? It's almost like the gear is being kept the same, but the spy aspect isn't! To be fair...it is only the first episode!

P.P.S.: Zoey and Devon weren't actually wearing Morphers, right? Does the power reside within, and the Morphers only regulate and access it when needed? Were the Morphers transported during the Infusion Sequence?

It's a bit weird as they are clearly still using the weapon modes but they may just try and pass them off as very strange-looking weapons.

I think it was kind of a special first morph, and they presumably will need the morphers from now on. The beast DNA does seem to be an inate power thing, I guess the morphers teleport the suits themselves?

Really nice way to kick off the Hasbro Era.

Maybe the morphers trigger the beast DNA. I noticed that they focused on the animal aspect instead of the technology aspect.

Outside of US, I can't figure out how to watch it?

Usually I watch Power Rangers at Kimcartoon although it full of ads. Other than that, I don't know.

I legit laughed at them too. They feel like Bulk and Skull but done right.
