I've always wondered if lights in toku helmets would make it hard for the suit actors to see.

There's usually "eyeholes" conveniently placed around the light-up areas. A good example would be the original Kamen Rider helmet, the eyeholes are underneath his large insect eyes. But yeah, it is interesting how they can see, whilst still eluding the audience.
