I got two things in the mail recently, the SHF Upgrade torso and head for Ultraman Tiga SS, and my grail, Ultraman Titas.

If anyone is curious about the SHF Upgrade Tiga torso, this thing is kind of nuts. You have to use the innards of the abdomen from the regular figure and force on the new soft plastic torso. The way the replacement head sat on the neck looked a little too short for my liking, but I just slapped my original tiga head on there and now the figure has a graceful long neck. Just like a beautiful giraffe!

I noticed some paint slop on the torso I got, but also I had to manhandle this thing to get all the parts attached. It?s like the old saying, when you point the finger at someone else, you have three fingers pointing back at you. Maybe I caused all this mess!

Is it worth it? Uh... well, I can touch the figure without it feeling all sticky and disgusting, so yeah!

Just got some HK import blu-rays. Supercop has US releases but I prefer this edition.

I love the Police Story saga of films!

What are the differences between the US and that version?

I'm not that familiar but from what I can tell, the older Supercop blu-ray is lower PQ and dub-only, while the upcoming blu-ray uses the same master as this, except is also available as a UHD disc. I mostly bought this version over the upcoming US release because I thought it was cooler :lol

That brings my collection to the first 3 films. Are the others worth watching?

Haha no. Supercop 2 is interesting as a side story, but Jackie is barely in it.

I watched the dub of supercop earlier this year. That thing is awful.

One really petty and nitpicky complaint that I believe displays how little value the english dub guys placed on this movie: They had a guy playing a video game I think on sega saturn and there was a bunch of loud punching noises like he was playing a fighting game, but they showed the tv later and it said ?tetris? on the screen. Some absolute freak just came in and messed with the sounds for no reason!

The first half of Police Story 1, with all the explosions and stunt actors placed in mortal danger, is some of the greatest filmmaking of all time. And that ending mall fight is incredible too. I have to rewatch the Supercop movie with the original language before I can comment on it being good or not.

Speaking of Police Story 1, Jackie Chan himself prefers the Japanese release even to the original. There's a slightly different set up and more jokes.

Yeah, I've heard that, but I feel like Michelle Yeoh is cool enough to lead. I guess people who didn't already know she was the lead could be disappointed, though.

Oof, that sounds bad. I haven't seen it yet (only the first two, but I liked them enough to buy this as well) but I've heard Supercop is actually one of the best in the series so hopefully you'll get to see it in the original language sometime.

I didn't even know there was a Japanese version. It doesn't seem to be included in the Criterion as far as I can tell...or is it?
