Grabbed the Phantom Ranger at half price in FP during an attempt at Christmas Shopping today! Had been considering him at full price a while back, so this was a lucky break. Almost enough to not get you down at how the PR section is down to nothing, although they did have Figure-rise Kuuga Pegasus in the Gundam section.

Does anyone know of any good places for toku stuff in the LA area? Maybe a market with candy toys or gashapon?

Go to Little Tokyo. There's an entire Gundam/Toku store at Anime Jungle, full of Ultraman, Godzilla, Kamen Rider, Sentai, etc.

There's also:
- a Kaiju...well, I'm not sure if it's a store or a figure museum, but it's pretty cool on 1st st.
- Marukai Market has an aisle full of candy toys - including Sho-do and minipla.

Throughout the city and the surrounding areas, there's a ton of other Japanese grocers which may or may not have candy toys (I've only been to LT Marukai, as it's close to work), and random anime shops that usually don't have toku stuff but you never know.

Oh! I have been meaning to check out the Urobuchi Thunderbolts show. I heard about it when it was first airing and was extremely interested, but I never watched it.

Also I have seen some stuff from that Kuuga manga. Looks wild! Inoue just goes feral in those manga/novel adaptations, haha.

It's excellent. Also mind-blowing to watch because of the puppetry, it's unlike anything I had seen up until then, although I realize it was a genre before.

There's a scene in the second to last episode of the first season that's up there in my favorite Toku moments of all time. It's amazing. Definitely recommended!

I certainly did not expect Ichijo kissing a convict who just bit off his tongue on the mouth in order to stop him from choking on it, among other things. "Wild" describes it pretty well. Especially since said convict was arrested for blowing up pretty ladies by stuffing fireworks into them.

It does hit some spot though, can't lie. When it goes Kuuga it rules.
