I am a noob when it comes to kamen rider. I just really got into it and only watched OOO which i love and i am half way through fourze which is pretty good. I really liked the first episode of Wizard. The bike coming out of the portal was just epic in my opinion. I love Wizards costume the jacket is awesome. My favorite part was the fights were just amazing to watch. I am really looking forward to seeing this show progress. I to may get the driver for this series i just thought the way it worked was really cool if a little to noisy.

As far as the show itself, like everyone else, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The only other show I enjoyed as much as this was Fourze.

Btw, why does Over-Time constantly feel the need to translate the word "Henshin" ?

Because "Henshin" isn't English.

You must remember that every series is somebody's first.
It's like watching an anime that leaves stuff like "Aniki-chan" untranslated. Just because some people know what it means, it doesn't mean everyone does.

You know, I think I need to give the episode another watch. As someone who got in to Kamen Rider with Fourze, and who's since seen W, Decade, and the first chunk of OOO (working my way through it) I'm not feeling it like everyone else here seems to be.

I mean, it's one of those things where there's a ton of concepts I like, but I'm not sure if I like the show yet or not. I'm hoping this isn't gonna end up like Decade for me, which I felt had a lot of neat concepts/designs but found kind of tedious to watch until they added Diend to the cast.

It's an .mkv file. If you're on a PC, get Media Player Classic and the CCCP codec pack. If you use a Mac, get MPlayerX. If it's still defaulting to Movie Maker then right click and select a different program to open it with.

ok ok...finally got through this...very cool concept. Looks like he got his powers through some ritual where a lot of phantoms broke loose and he kept his...one thing that made me crack up, the Avatars...when summoned, they assemble like model kits lol, even all the pieces on a plactic sheet. There was a lot of action crammed into that one episode though, from a minion fight, phantom fight, and the fight from the inside the girl...
Really am looking forward to the Figuarts, hoping for a lot of effect parts lol. Great first episode.

This is why i am looking forward to the rest of the season. Compared to what i have seen being OOO and Fourze its nice to see a rider show up and hand out whole sale whoopass. I am really looking forward to the next episode. I hope a good story accompanies the awesome action.

I still find the driver's design with the hand an eyesore though. Hope it doesn't bother me as much in the future. Also the henshin music when he is about to henshin, anyone can make out what it's rapping? I didn't watch the English sub so I'm not sure what it translate to in English. Sounds to me like "whatever do you want to henshin?" :D

Wow, this makes me think Nanoha going melee. Also, Signum!!!!

With the henshin device...the only thing I don't like is that the belt buckle with the hand is still shown when he is in normal stuff...just looks...off...
I DO like how he sets it to his left for form changes, and to the right for powers. Neat little detail...

Just watched the first episode and I really enjoyed it! I like how Wizard was created from the same event which created the Phantoms, reminds me very strongly how Hongo was an incomplete Shocker creation. I like the big hand device, and the opening hand on the WizSwordGun or whatever it is called. The concept of the Phantoms destroying the hope of the Gates to spread their ranks is cool.

Overall I dug it and will be watching it going forward. It's Showtime!

Hotaru does look like a more bad ass Wataru...and it doesn't help that their names end with "Taru" at the end.

Haruto really does come off like a sort of end of the series Wataru. A real badass. I think I've put my finger on why this episode was so good. It has a nice, dark, early Heisei feel with the character death that we see mention of to create the phantoms. Rider series have been missing significant deaths of suplimental characters since Kabuto. The deaths in Den-O were (mostly) reversed by time travel, Decade had some but not enough, and W OOO & Fourze were very light. It's nice to see a degree of realism come back into play. Anytime you're dealing with evil monsters there's gotta be collateral damage of some degree.

I like the PlaMonsters more than I thought, though I still think their transformation are the most useless of all the helper guys so far.

At first I thought that was some promotional photo, and then freaked out when I saw the wrist hinge. :eek:

Speaking of Haruto and Wataru, why is it that they pull of those fabulous red jeans so well?

Weren't people turned into medals during OOO? *Shrug*
That, and the Uva/giant monster thing at the end, turned entire portions of the town into medals.

It wasn't blatant on screen deaths, but, uh...You really couldn't avoid the obvious implications of death though that...

Don't forget the masses of people who got disintergrated by the Ptera Yummies or the mothers and children that were stored in Mezool's egg things. We NEVER saw those people returning after OOO beat them.

Like I said they just generally felt lighter on deaths. It just felt like they intentionally detached that aspect from W onward. They made it more distant, more vague, so that it could appeal to kids more. I like that Wizards' villains are more sinister and that aspect of death is a little more real.

The henshin is great! But that belt needs a serious redesign, especially the "hand buckle."

Yeah, that just dawned on me today and I was laughing and laughing. As I tell my three year old: Please IS the magic word! :lol

Well, since I can't find the Fourze threads...I'll also post my thoughts on the last 3 episodes of Fourze

So Kengo is something called a "Core Child" ok? And when they killed him off I thought to myself "oh man! They pukked an Ankh!" But then they revived him so, yeah. All the fight scenes were cool, interesting how Meteor finished off Leo by using his normal Meteor switch rather than Storm, since Storm does have it's own rider kick limit break. Also, interesting how Gamou revived Kengo, and I don't know how I feel about them playing the Rider Girls during the "graduation ceremony" overall I thought it was a great ending to a great series

Now onto Wizard!

I want a doughnut now...also I like the standby noise. Did anyone else think that the gunsword has a similar silhouette to the Medajalibur is sword mode? Overall I like Haruto, I understand that it's the first episode, so it won't be as good as Fourze's final episode since it's going to be all exposition. Interesting how he starts off with his powers right off the bat. I'm getting a bit of a Decade vibe from this show (mostly because he lives in a house with a girl and her grandfather) getting a good look at the details of the suit...I really like it, bring on the Figuart! I wonder if the girl, I forget her name, will become a Kamen Rider since Haruto gave her a ring, and she too came back from almost turning into a Phantom, but maybe not since Wizard saved her. Overall, very cool! Looking forward to next week's episode!

I know she won't, because he killed the phantom inside her...Wizard apparently was able to beat his phantom, hence he can control the power. Be is basically a Vizard from Bleach

Well I'm still going to watch a few more episodes before I make up my mind about it. please.

Monster designs are super awesome so far. I like the idea of gates and all that. KR wizard look badass. please.

The little robots are out of place but at least are useful like OOO rather than pointless like fourze's bots. please.

But the pacing was painful even compared to other KRs and I'm not so sure how much i like the main characters. please.

And 'please' it's not a bad ass line. Having a main hero slicing through the demon of all hell yelling "Pardon me, but would you mind excusing me" does not invoke cool.
It's silly and got annoying really fast, so can we stop using it....please.

Kickback, I admit defeat. Even that doofy Shabadoobie I'm getting into. I love how he just leaps his bike through the factory like a boss, slingshots that bullet around her head like a boss, and then Henshin's right there in the middle of a swirling inferno. Like a freaking boss. Sent that Phantom's head through brick like a boss. I love that Garuda, can't want to see toys of him. Loving it. Loving all of it.
He's just smartass enough, just cool enough, and just boos enough, to make him awesome. I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series.

I liked it. I like the design and the monsters. I don;t think the gimmick is better than OOO but i like it more than Fourze's. Can't want for Episode 2

So I watched Nihon's version to compare to Over-Time's, and I hate to say it, but I actually liked Nihon's better. The translations were pretty much the same, but the graphics and video quality just seemed to be better.

Hmm, that would be different from their usual encodes. Over-Time usually has better looking video. I'll download TV-Nihon's to compare.
