Rewatched the first movie last night. I know it was the Nineties, but damn. That CG was horrible. Ooze's Mechs look alright, right up until he merges with them then it becomes the same level of wtf has Ninja Megazord. And the Ninjazords have the same problem! They look good. Then they combine and stop.

And seriously... they defeated Ooze with a knee to the mecha nuts? ... Really?

That pushed him into the SUN!!! But yeah, it was kinda sucky. The design of the megazord could have been better as well. I still prefer this way how they got the Ninja powers, rather than Ninjor. Even if the series had one of the best PR scenes ever: the megazords falling to pieces. Even if it was sad when I watched it (especially as it happened because of Rito the Skeleton) it is an epic scene to watch.

Jeez, that CG was terrible. I hated that derp head they had because they couldn't figure out how to render the Ninja Megazord's original head.

In the Sega Game Gear version of MMPR:TM, they actually rectify both of these issues, believe it or not.

Like the original MMPR from the GG, it is a one-on-one fighting game which hsa both a Story Mode and Versus Mode. In Story Mode, you generally play the first round against an army of Putties and then the stage's boss. Defeat him, and then he grows giant and you fight him in the Megazord.

The first half of the game is based on Season 2 of MMPR and follows this pattern.

The second half of the game is based on the Movie and deviates a little bit. The first stage is back-to-back Ranger fights against an army of Ooze Men. The second stage is a battle against Hornitron. Next comes a battle against the Ivan-Ectomorph merged form. Then you fight the Ivan-Ectomorph again, this time on the Moon with crazy outer space physics. Beat him there, and you go into the cinematic of Ooze's final defeat.

First off the sprite of the Ninja Megafalconzord is based on the actual robot from the TV series, not the CG model from the movie. So it has the proper face and all that, plus it has appropriate special moves. It's Super Move, for instance, is the flying double punch finisher that it used on the show.

Secondly, in the cinematic, Ooze is still defeated by being knocked into the path of a comet, but instead of being a groin shot, he is knocked into it's path by the big flying spin kick that the NMFZ used on the show.

Yes, but they both destroy Ivan Ooze bots of horrible CGI. Plus one orbits around the other. I know my astronomy.

I miss those old Genesis Power Ranger games, so damn much.

Honestly? The 8 bit Game Gear versions are superior, at least in the case of the original MMPR. Not sure about MMPR:TM as I have never played it.

The GG versions, despite being Fighters, still get a Brawler aspect by having you fight a ton of Putties with very small life bars in the first round (generally). So it's like a 2D Brawler in that sense.

All I played were those first SNES and Genesis ones. The Zeo racing game, MMPR The Fighting Game for both systems, and The Movie for Genesis. Which is still one of the best MMPR games. They did Zord battles right. Not like that Rhythm game the Anniversary game made them out to be.

sentai tell me about it thats why i loved time force and light speed rescue due to there zord fight where like the MMPR the movie game zord fights like side scroller for ranger and then a fighting game for the zords and due to this convo on pr Games you guys made me want to start thread

I honestly don't think I've played those. The last game I played was that Zeo racing game for the SNES, then the Anniversary game. And that put me off of MMPR games for a while.

Just watched the last two episodes of Super Samurai. (I'm home with my younger boy today as he is under the weather.) I really enjoyed it as a send off to Samurai which seems like it has been on forever at this point. Nice original footage and I liked the Rangers continuing to use strategy to defeat their foes, including specific attack patterns and combat tricks. And of course it was neat to see Skull again.

Samurai is over... let's bring on Mega Force!

I've been trying to watch all the series on Netflix over the last few months. I just started Wild Force last week.

Changing this thread to encompass all American toku series rather than just Power Rangers.

Why you ask? Because I've decided to destroy my childhood one episode at a time and rewatch Saban's Masked Rider.

Thoughts on the first 2 episodes
- Edenoi looks like a pretty boring planet to rule over, no wonder Dregon has his sights set on Earth
- I'd completely forgotten the Leawood school set was Angel Grove High
- Dex can somehow magically bring superpowered vehicles into existance, but completely sucks at fighting monsters.
- The maggots look pretty cool, its just a shame they are an utter joke.
- And the usual Furbus sucks etc etc.

All in all a successful watch I think :lol

i enjoyed masked rider as a kid but now i cant hel but lol it also this serise was the reason i continue watching decade after the shinkenger cross over

Been watching SPD among the other shows I've been watching on Netflix. It's actually better than I remember.

I really love SPD. I'm surprised the general consensus is so polarizing on it.
