The only reason DiEnd was burnt was because Libra burned him to make him seem like the culprit. He was unconscious for the entire final battle, and woke up feeling sour towards Tsukasa because of his plan.

Anyway, I voted for Super Hero Taisen because of my explanation.

Well, not exactly. The movie, while attracting low scores from critics, found much warmer and positive reviews from fans. Additionally, there's nothing noting that the film at any point almost brought down the franchise.
Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it was almost the end for a series.
