Well, going down, it's just romanization to straight up translation.

And yes, I want a Sentai title to end in "-man" again.

Let's go a full on sci-fi theme. There are lots of sentai with sci-fi elements in terms of weapons, but everything else is, for lack of a better word, grounded.

I want something like In Space. Space ships and travel, phasers and energy swords, stuff like that.

Yes. I want a Star Wars/Trek Sentai. It'll be freaking awesome.

I kind of imagine that being something like Gurren Laggen.

Only if it doesn't get as ridiculously stupid at the end.

Japanese "Oni and Yokai" demons, that are usually villains in Japanese media, or the Western "Bat-winged Hell-spawn" demons that are usually villains in Western media?

Yeah, that probably wouldn't work since paper-thin villain archetypes aren't heroes. Especially in kids media.

To be fair, I'd hardly call that a giant drill.
In fact, it's a relatively tiny drill.

And technically, its original Sentai, Megaranger, was technology and videogame themed, not space. Their mecha just happened to be spacecraft.

Passing that off as a space show is like trying to call an Earth themed show a space show.

And nah. It just seems kind of doofy, since chainsaws aren't sharpened at the point. A chainsaw spinning like a drill goes from a dangerous tool to a really sharp club.

Maybe a Zodiac Sentai could work. But only with an Abaranger/Gekiranger sized team.

The season would have a four member team. Each member represents a sign from one of three groupings. So if Toei chose "cardinal," the team would be Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Accesory mecha would be from another grouping, say, "fixed," so Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. The mid-season upgrades would then be the remaining "mutable," Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. And the sixth ranger would be Ophiuchus.
