Indeed. Everyone in DT represented some kind of generic, stereotypical high school character trope. While Ethan grew out of his (Kind of), Kira and Connor did not. They were vapid. They were ditzy. They were not good characters.

I must admit I kinda like Connor's douchebag attitude, it made him an unconventional hero without just going for goofball which is what a lot of Japanese Toku seems to default to when they already have a stoic hero. That aside though the fact that he actually needed a character arc to realise that being a Ranger was more important than Football was ridiculously dumb.

Ethan was an absolutely awful character as well, I would have found him insulting as well if it wasn't for Kira who is basically the black and white minstrel show version of an alternative person.

Well, what PR portrayal of teenagers in High School would you say is more realistic? The MMPR Goody-Goods or the more "Meh, they're okay. Not great but okay" Dino Thunder ones?

Ethan was the only character I liked, outside of maybe Trent (And it's been a while since I've seen DT. I might not like Trent as much as I think I do).
He was a computer nerd, but he wasn't the Billy "Push up glasses, avoid all confrontations, cower and can't fight whatsoever (Until in spandex)" kind of nerd. While you liked Connor's arrogant attitude, I liked Ethan's mix of both conventional "Nerd" characteristics while not being written like a 90's nerd so many other shows (Both during that time period and in general) currently write nerds.

Why are you not including Ninja Storm? Extreme! Aside, this is the closest Power Rangers has come to portraying convincing, actual human being, teenagers.

Trent was a pretty good character but completely underused. And I do admit, seeing Noah embody all of Billy's problems again, it does make you miss Ethan somewhat. He may be pretty flat and stereotypical but he had at least some semblance of consistency.
