Had anyone chosen DHL as the shipping option when ordering from mandarake? I made my first order last week and the status was "with delivery courier " for half the day but it wasn't delivered so now I'm confused as to what that means. I thought it meant that it was on a dhl truck unless they ran out of time today? Sure hope it'll be delivered soon.
Edit: Nvm, I guess I just had to be patient, didn't expect them to deliver so late into the evening. >.< |
Anyone Use Amazon.co.jp?
(Mods: Please move this thread if it is in the wrong subforum)
Does anyone out there use or have access to use Amazon.co.jp? I do not read or speak Japanese, and I am pretty sure they will not ship to the US, so I am unable to work with their website. Here's the deal: I am looking for someone who can order something from that site and ship it to me here in the United States There is a video game listed on their site which I want to order. It's a copy of the Game Boy Advance game Taiketsu! Ultra Hero. I'd pay for the cost of the item and the shipping to you, and then the shipping to me. The item appeas to be available used for 680 yen. If anyone out there can help me, please post or PM and let me know. Thanks in advance! |
As far as I can remember, Amazon.co.jp only ships books, CDs and DVDs internationally. However, I know there are a multitude of good middleman services out there who would be willing to help you out. One that I've heard great things about, but haven't personally used, is YokattaWeb. Good luck getting your game, however you do.
|
Very interesting, Brainchild. I was not aware of these guys. I will have to send them an email and see if they can help me out. The game itself is like I said, not too pricey so hopefully the whole deal won't be too bad.
Thanks! |
I did not know this either. I mean, I have always ordered from Amazon Japan, but it always has been just DVDs/BDs.
|
No as I can't really read the kanji. Plus, not sure if my American account would work.
|
There should be a button on the amazon.jp pages that translates much of it to english:

If their Amazon service is anything like their service is for Tamashii web exclusives, I can't recommend Yokatta highly enough. They were my go-to guys for exclusives for Sentai Tamashii came along :D

I'm going to see if I can translate the page and order it; if not, that Middleman service looks promising. Thanks folks!
|
I was able to translate it earlier. It's pretty weird though when going through the different categories for searching due to how they layered everything out. Plus, not everything is translated. But eh, it's pretty cool to have it there just in case you don't want to go via other sites I suppose.

If not, at least I can point the middleman to the page, so that has to help. |
I can order from Amazon Japan
|
What's the shipping usually like on the site? Is it about what the American one usually has? Also, do they sell Sentai series as whole sets or by volumes? I couldn't really tell when I was messing around earlier.
|
I tried ordering a book from there and the shipping was like $35...
|
I found a game importer which may be a better option than dealing with a middleman. But I appreciate everyone's help!

Would checking Mandarake each day be my best bet on getting a decently priced goseiger mecha. (Specifically Gosei Great, Gosei Ground, Gosei Wonder, Mystic Brothers, Gosei Ultimate, or Datas Hyper?) Or would Amazon / Ebay be my best bet at this point?
Edit: I do also have an Amazon Gift Card that I want to try to maximize too. |
That's not a bad idea. Mandarake has great deals. I've never dealt with them, but I'm sure some people can vouch for them.
If you don't find anything by searching in English, open Google Translate in a new tab and translate what you want into Japanese before searching. I found a bunch of Kamen Rider belts that way despite not seeing any when I just searched in English. |

They're shipping them to me right now though, so I'll know in a week or so how their services / shipping is. I haven't really seen anything but the brother headers on their site so far... but I'm going to keep looking. I'll prolly get the landic headers + gosei great on Amazon with my gift card. Thanks for the advice =] |
What exactly is Mandrake? Is it like Ebay or something?

Usually the stuff on there will have damaged boxes or someone broke the tape seal on it. They indicate in the name of the product what condition it is in. Both of the header brothers sets that I bought had damaged boxes, which I figure would possibly happen in transport anyways. I'll let y'all know how they come out when I recieve them. If your order is less than 5,000 yen before shipping costs, they charge you 500 extra yen for handling. >.> Which I had to do because my total was pretty low. Also, if they ship from different stores, they will ship in different boxes and have their own shipping and handling costs from what I've heard earlier in this thread. I haven't figured out the auction part of it yet though. It appears to only take place at a certain time. I've never dealt with them before yesterday though. This is my first time buying the sentai version of the power rangers zords. |
Yeah the "damage" claims on Mandarake items can be hard to gauge from the descriptions. I've bought "damaged" items with really terrifiying descriptions and it'll end up being a shallow crease on the cardboard. IE better than you'd find on the shelf at a TRU.
I really only stay away from ones labeled "item stained" because I have no idea what the #$%^ that means nor do I want to find out. |
Another (rare) thing to avoid on Mandarake, as I've heard from friends, is the damage marker "nicotine desperation" (or something similar). Generally, anything that's listed to smell like cigarette smoke will absolutely reek to a non-smoker.
|
Good to know. All I ever came across was Damaged Box Open and Damaged Box Sealed. I really like the idea of the site. I'm interested in seeing how much they price Gosei Great, Gosei Ground, Gosei Wonder, and Gosei Ultimate for.

Mandarake has GokaiPink for sale in the Nakano store for 6000 yen-
http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-828056.html |
if I had 6000 yen...
|
alot of the gokai girls are between 6000-9000 yen lol.sometimes you can get them cheaper but its all luck
|
Goddammit. I was watching a Super Best Double Driver on Mandarake for days that sat at 3000 yen and it just sold out. What are the chances of it showing up at that price again? Probably not good. :(
|
3000? damn, if i would have seen that I would have snapped it up in a second.
|
I didn't have the money. :(
|
for that kind of a deal you mug school kids and take their lunch money. Pay them back when you can.
|
:lol But seriously I'll never see that kind of deal again, will I?
|
I wouldn't imagine so. it sells for like $120 on eBay doesn't it? the cheapest I think I'd seen it on Mandarake before was 8000, with shipping your close to $100, so 3000 was a flat out steal.
|
The original belt with just the four memories is still there for 2800, but, well, I want all six memories. It's not useful to me unless I have all six, and the role play stuff is expensive.
|
That's a good price for the regular driver though. But, without Metal and Trigger, it's certainly less fun.
|
Is 7000 a fair price for the Super Best?
I mean, I don't have that kind of money either, but I'm curious. |
