Dragon Shield Green Samurai Ranger…I smell SDCC Figuarts exclusive.

Really starting to wonder if the filming is for the close of the series or they're going to do the legend war as a special like clash of the red rangers.

This really throws into question the assumption the legend war would close this season and lead into next year. I really think the writers are going for a more original take on this.

I was wondering the same thing, because story-wise he lost those powers.

First off, my head exploded that Jason David Frank is in the old Green Ranger suit. Badass.

Second...why is he in the Green Ranger suit? The Dragonzord powers were destroyed by Lord Zedd in season 2. Why isn't he Zeo Ranger V or the Black Dino Thunder Ranger or even the White Ranger instead?

Third, how the hell are they going to explain Tommy being in the Green Ranger suit when he's been in four other suits before (well three, since TJ was the Red Turbo Ranger as well). The only way I could see how this would work (as well as the Zeo Rangers being the first team of Turbo Rangers and the second team of Turbo Rangers being the Space Rangers) is somehow the Universal Morphing Grid somehow creates "spiritual clones" of the multi-powered Rangers, which could work.

But hell, seeing Tommy in green again after so long, I'm willing to just let it be unexplained. :D

I'v been thinking the same thing. I think he's going to be given the green ranger key.

i like the idea of spirit rangers although hard to explain. and if we want to get technical, the restored green powers were left behind in the old west, begging the paradox were they left behind there for rita to somehow capture and use to enthrall tommy?

Can't we use the same explanation as Jason's restored Red Ranger powers being stolen from an evil ranger?

Or, perhaps Ninjor made him a new set?

Or SPD/Time Force pulled the morpher data from the archives and recreated them?

There's tons of possibilities.

But we are talkin Saban, we'll get the morph (probably stock footage) and the suit just appears for no explanation.

I already know we won't get an explanation, don't worry.
I'm just offering some possible explanations, is all.

Maybe we should all get together as a group and write an offical unoffical cannon to fill in all the plot holes, lol.

That'd be pretty fun.

The History of the MMPR Green Ranger Power from the show
Rita Repulsa had the 6th Power Coin, which was the Dragonzord coin. She bestowed it upon Tommy and with the Sword of Darkness, used it to control his mind. Once the sword was broken, the spell over Tommy was also broken, and he joined the other Power Rangers.

Rita devised a plan to use the Green Candle, which had the essence of the Green Ranger powers in it, to drain away Tommy's power. Jason was unable to stop the candle from burning, so the only way they could save the power was to transfer it and make it "inactive", thus Jason getting the dragon shield power up. The Green Candle extinguished itself but the powers remained.

When the Power Rangers handed over their power coins to save their parents, Zordon infused the Green Power coin with his own energy, revitalizing the power on a temporary basis. Lord Zedd arrived and created monster after monster to absorb the power. He eventually sealed it in a crystal and was going to use it to create his own Dark Rangers ... but Tommy broke the crystal, restoring a little of his power, which he used to save the other Power Rangers. At that point, the Green Ranger powers were gone.

However, Rita created the Wizard of Deception, who created a clone of Tommy and, with Rita's magic, was able to re-create the Green Power Coin. Thus, Green Ranger fought White Ranger while the others were trapped in the past. However the clone eventually realized he was fighting on the wrong side and joined forces with the others. Rather than stay in the present, he chose to stay in the past, and still had the Green Ranger powers. Thus, the Green Ranger power still exists, it was just "in the past".

Why there's silver on the Green Ranger helmet
During "Dino Thunder", Doug Sloan decided to have a throw-back Tommy episode where he had to fight the previous incarnations of himself. Doug explained on Ranger Board the suits - the Zeo suit was intact and fine. The White Ranger suit was a stunt suit, hence why the shoulders were falling off half the time ... it wasn't in the best of shape. The Green Ranger costume had to be completely re-created. The helmet was given a silver lining on it. During Gokaiger, TOEI either re-created or had stored the Green Ranger costume, so no worries. When TOEI sent over costumes for Super Megaforce, Saban probably took an inventory of what suits they had and what suits they'd need - seeing the Disney suit, they probably decided they didn't need the TOEI Green Ranger costume, and thus, Tommy wears the Disney suit.

where did she get the sixth coin? i say she acquired it from the clone somehow.... not sure what everyones problem is with the silver line, extra detail never hurts. case in point, when any one get so upset about any sort of (non brand specific) toy lacks paint apps or detail.

That's uncalled for because:

1) This isn't a Transformers site, and therefore not everyone may be a Transformers fan

and

2) Generalizing an opinion to "everyone" is stereotyping, and that ain't cool

The issues people have is that the silver line on the helmet and the silver morpher isn't the same costume that the Green Ranger is - there should be no silver line and a gold morpher. When a character is represented by a costume, it's kind of important that the costume be as close as possible to the original.

But it's their right to be upset because it's justified.

As long as there's extra paint, who cares if it's accurate.

Fury Diamond stated that there may be MORE cameos, but the 10 he listed were the only 10 that production contracted for an appearance. Probably means they have to do some promo'ing down the road as well.

Wow..This is pretty damn awesome, I must say...After all the long heated speculation I finally feel this is good news :D

This takes a lot of the negatives from the last couple weeks and makes it far from memory. I'm excited for this reunion, only because we now know that it's more than "guy receives key and looks up at camera". There's actual cast in Ranger costumes. And honestly that's more than I was expecting.

Rewatching Turbo has told me that there exists a team of Robot duplicates of the Turbo Rangers on Eltar.
So there's your Turbo Ranger explanation.
Can't say much for everyone else, though.

In the pictures we've seen, there hasn't been Red Turbo, Dino Thunder Black, or anyone from Zeo. Could be coincedence, could be on purpose.

But we do see a Pink Turbo and a Pink Space ranger, though.

The same way they explained all the Dead rangers present during the Legend war.

Can't wait! Green Samurai with the dragon armor is interesting. Considering he gave the shield to a past green ranger and not to one of the current Mega Force rangers. I wonder what other surprises are in store. Even though its never been removed (I think), I wonder if they'd have the White Ranger's vest on the Yellow Samurai.

You would have thought they could have got rid of the ugly silver stripe from the Dragon Ranger helmet.
