I think I have it figured out. The majority of the build will be the Guntank. The turret hands will be replaced with the clamp arms from the ball twin set. The two cannons will be replaced with a crane gantry on one side and the other side covered up. I'll have to replace the thrusters on the back, maybe scratchbuild around them. I think that should cover it.

Although...considering the Quanta's leg desing...I might have to go with the Sparrow front waist piece.

I'm also not sure that the proportions will look like that, as I fear the Quanta's head may be too small on the HG.

I tried fitting the G-bouncer's arms onto the Strike Freedom's Torso, it seems as if the peg is too short. It fits, but for the sake of stability, you might need to lengthen that post. Another thing I noticed was the gap in the rear of Strike Freedom's waist from the movable waist armor gimmick they incorporated.

On a side note, the G-Bouncer is one smexy looking MS design. Makes me wish there were a third generation of Wolf's personal MS. Stupid need for character growth of the protagonist.

It should be fine if he thickens the peg with super glue and paint.

So...I would need putty or something to fill in the gap?

Well...could I just use an alternative torso, and glue the DRAGOONs on? I don't know what my options would be...perhaps I could customize the AGE-2's torso (take out the A) but there is the spoiler to worry about...

P.S. I also really appreciate you ripping apart your Gunpla to help me.

EDIT: I have Styrene Rods Kiryu, perhaps those could work for lengthening them.

Ok...and yeah it does. I would use the Quanta's torso, but it uses a ball joint connection for the arms, so it wouldn't work. GAH! This is so hard! At least I've got a month to figure it out.

I just measured the length of the posts, Strike Freedoms are approximately 0.5 cm in length and G-Bouncer's are 0.75 cm in length.

Thinking about it, the diameter of some of the sprue trees hit the sweet spot for polycap inner diameter; and being made of the same material doesn't hurt either.

Hm...but the gap kind of bothers me. Do you have any suggestions for an alternate torso that has a similar pointiness to it as the Strike Freedom's? I think I could X-acto off those pegs, and glue it onto another torso.

I think when the MG round comes around later this year or whenever we decide to do it,I'm just building it.I'm not gonna risk any custom jobs on an MG just yet.lol

My build for the MG stage is either going to be the Unicorn with the MS cage or the Banshee,mostly cause I want to get all the MS with psycho frames in them.

Indeed, because doing a straight OOB build is too easy. I want to see more people getting into customizing their stuff.

You could try your hand at adapting the lower torso bits of the G-Bouncer to the dark upper portion of the Strike Freedom's. Otherwise the kit would have to be from 00 and on to not worry about the connection. have you thought about Gundam X's torso? It has a similar style connection to the waist, however the shoulder connection is the same style used in the 00 kits.

Then its a matter of covering the gap in the shoulder armor and fixing the gray panel in place.

Thanks again for the help. :) but that seems a bit too complicated for me. I could try that lower torso trick. Is it hard to do? I mean worst case scenario, I go with a torso section from an Age kit. Maybe I could buy styrene sheets to fill in the gap in Strike Freedom's torso.

The lower portion of the age kit's torso should fit, the designs are less bulky.

That's why I'm going the "Custom paint job" route.I'm still new to customizing and I know I dont want to try out too much on a MG just yet.lol

Most definitely. I would try test fitting the 00q's inner torso when you get it.

Put it on the 00 Gundam, and use pla plate to make it look more like samurai armour. Then give it a similar colour scheme to the Musha Gundam.

I'm also in the process of saving up for the onslaught of games coming out this summer plus convention season so I don't know if I'll have the time to do it…if anything, I might just do the G-Xiophs idea after all so..we'll see when I finally get the Valvrave in hand.

There is no way to enter with an already snapped kit? I tend to snap kits even if i don't plan on working on them for awhile just to make room. The only thing i have left are RG's and a HGUC Sinanju that aren't snapped, and i really don't want to enter anything too complicated.

And my kits are officially on their way! You all get to know what I'm doing, it's important and you should love it :lol

Guess that also means I can confirm what I'm building. Since I'm boring, and also don't have much experience with these anyway, I'll be doing the new Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second L kit.

I'm close to painting,but the weather isn't cooperating at all.90 some degrees outside and humid as all get out.Once I do start the painting I'll post some pics.

Yknow,You think youre doing good on a paint job,then that one color gives you troubles.What does it mean when little bumps show up on the plastic if I'm using spray paint.Ive had no trouble with the flat black or flat white,just the blue.Is it because its not a flat color?

Then is it ok if I kind of break the rule, and use the front waist skirt from my busted up HG Savior?
