I have to say, all of the Inhumanity stuff has my interest piqued. I have dug the Inhumans since I was introduced to them on the Marvel Action Hour FF cartoon, and I am curious to see how this all plays out. |
Yeah they said something about that but that wont happen anytime soon I´m afraid.
I cant wait for the Inhuman stuff. I hope Fractions promise of a sci-fi take on Game of Thrones is true with that one :lol |

Read Superior Spider-Man 17 & 18 and oh boy its really not that good. The first Issue of the crossover was pretty darn okay it set up the Spidey 2099 Universe pretty well (something I know nothing about) the first thing though that bothered me about it was the slang thy used. It is a neat idea but man they overuse it like hell. The rest of the Issue was standard crossover fodder and thats always cool.
The next issue is were it went downhill for me...so you are telling me that he is from the future and doesnt know anything about the period in time were Spidey went completely bonkers and build his own private army? Seriously? Also the dialogue was so damn corny and felt mostly like an 80s cartoon crossover ala The Flintstones meet the Jacksons. Also Slott must really think peoples attention spans are minimal cause they remind us far too often that Spidey 2099 has to save his own great grandfather. The good thing I can say about this crossover so far is....the art is pretty. |
To be fair, the 2099 books used a lot of slang in them back in the day. Superior Spider-Man doesn't really interest me; he is the weak link in Mighty Avengers as far as I am concerned from a character standpoint.
Picked up Daredevil #33 today, to complete the Legion of Monsters story. Also, on a whim, grabbed Infinity #1. Thought I'd give it a try. |
I miss the 2099 books. Spider-Man though was my favorite 2099 design.. Always sad that none of that era got their own animated series.

You guys were right. Daredevil is awesome!

Just read the first few issues (1-4) of Scarlet Spider, and you guys were completely right, it's great!
It's a nice contrast with Venom too, since Flash really wants to be a hero while Kaine is mostly rolling with it. |

http://www.newsarama.com/19676-dared...g-secrets.html Looks like the new #1 is due to a major change in the life of Matt Murdock. On an unrelated note, I ended up picking up Infinity #1 last week, just to give it a shot. I really enjoyed it, so I picked up #2-5 yesterday. Read #2 this morning, really enjoying this epic story. Very cool so far! I had not read a Marvel "event" since Annihilation Conquest, so I was very pleasantly surprised by this one. |
I've started the 2008 Guardians of the Galaxy series. The story is awesome. The art is awesome. The writing is awesome. The characters are awesome. Rocket Raccoon exceeds awesome. It's pretty %&$#ing awesome.

Forget my problems with Marvel's treatment towards Spider-Man. Now we're getting word from the man himself!

I finished the fifth volume of Mark Waid's Daredevil. I forgave it for reminding me about The Superior Spider-Man after the whole "Thank Gof for Stilt-Man" bit, but the best part of the volume was "Punching Cancer." Those eight pages were some of the strongest pieces of literature that I have ever read.
|
The whole cancer bit made me really tear up having three family members dying because of it. This was easily one of if not the best story I read in comics for the past five years or so.

I wrote this poem about Spider-Man. I think I missed the point I was trying to get across.
Doctor Flow’s Tribute To A Fallen Hero June 5th, 1962: The world mocked for the first time a timid teenager; The world marveled for the first time the awesome might of a spectacular man. All with the flip of a page In an amazing fantasy. 6, 4, 5 Years Was the age when I considered that humans Didn’t have to be bound by human limits. 8 Legs Skittering about your hand. 2 Fangs Plunging into your flesh. Red and blue, Swinging across a Silver-screen, spinning silk from spinnerets supplanted In an anatomically incorrect location, The wrists. Crawling up and down, Left and right, On brick and plaster. Danger could never catch up to you, Spectacled science-geek. But tragedy dogged you. Wealth, fame, Rocketed up your head; One mistake, And uncle dead. One mistake, Someone dead. Trend: set. Begin. 698, An octopus crawled Into a spider’s brain With a gold sphere. Broken, He left you to waste away in his Diseased and dying body. 699, No assembly pursued. One mistake. You search, Sifting through tentacled memories. Sinister sigma Escape. Death chases. 700, The octopus Sorts out your life. You fight One final time. Flashes of time, Flurries of fists, A leap from Stark Avenging. One final time. And you fail. December 26, 2012, An amazing arachnid, A marvelous man, Died in New York. My childhood followed. |

Red the first volume of Avengers Arena and I really really liked it. It might be six issues worth of setup for the main plot but it was really enjoyable.

Since there was a topic about how you like your Spider-Man I'd thought I'd share my views on this matter.
Costume: Honestly nearly any costume works for me. Since red and black are two of my favorite colors the Alex Ross and a red and version of the Classic suit will work for me. No underarm webs. EVER. Webs: The mechanical shooters for me. When I think organic I think of whiny Tobey. I do not like whiny Tobey. Powers: Enhanced classics plus the cling with his whole body and night vision from the Other storyline. Claws, fangs and stingers should stay out. Those work for Kaine better than Pete. Origin: Anything works. Comics are weird enough that anything will work if you put enough time into it. Secret ID: Peter Parker. Otto's kinda screwing up and I didn't get to know Ben Relily well enough to attach enough fond memories for me. |

So I got a free Marvel Comics Calendar at my local comics store and on some of the holiday there are little clip arts of heroes that match the holiday in question: Sue Storm and Reed Richards for Mother's Day and Father's Day respectively, Deadpool for April Fool's Day, Banshee for St. Patrick's Day, Captain America for various exclusively-American holidays because Captain America.
And for the First Night of Hanukkah, there's a presumably teenage hero wearing gold bracelets and gold headband and he's lighting a Menorah with his electrical superpowers. What's his name and team affiliation if applicable? |
I love Scarlet Spider. Scarlet Spider is awesome. Everyone should read Scarlet Spider. Scarlet Spider #12 is the best Christmas comic in human history. I love Scarlet Spider. Why did you cancel Scarlet Spider, Marvel? I love Scarlet Spider.
… Have I ever mentioned just how much I love Christopher Yost's Scarlet Spider? Because I love Christopher Yost's Scarlet Spider. |
You mean the cancelled one?

Lucasfilm and Marvel Join Forces to Publish Star Wars Comics
Wow, losing Star Wars must be pretty big for Dark Horse. I'm excited to see what Marvel can do with it, especially since they did such a good job in the old days. |
