But seriously, of all the things it could've been... trains ain't so bad. It's new as a team motif and isn't animals. That's all I could ask for. Looking forward to seeing what it has to offer.

I have never seen a train in real life, but yeah trainspotting sounds quite boring. :P

But as with most sentai shows the mechs will have little function besides fighting the MOTW (unless they pull a Den-O) so the existence or non-existance of trains will probably have little effect on the plot.

You've never seen a train?! To be fair, trains were never something I really used until I went to uni. When I was younger, I was all about buses, but as I got older I realised there is basically no benefit to a bus if you can get a train instead.

And yeah, I know the mech stuff is pointless and tacked on and exists entirely to sell toys, but trains is the first bit of information we're given on this show which would imply it's more central to the series than just the shape the mechs will take.

Anyways you are kinda right on that, so far all we know it's that it's Train Sentai Trainger, so it may be more important to the show, in which case good! I'm tired of Mechs being an afterthought.

Maybe this'll mean they'll finally update the mech stuff and make it look decent. I mean the Kyoryuger stuff is a massive step up effectwise, but I think the only time the mech stuff in sentai has been genuinely good was in Go-Busters and even that had those hideous, gratuitous stacked combined mechs that stopped the suit actor being able to move. And it hasn't come on nearly as far as the henshin hero stuff has.

It's just a shame it's trains.

Yes Ace is a treat, Go-BusterOh starts as a glorified finisher attack but in general the combined forms aren't used that much, at least so far (I'm on 30 something).

It used to, but that was quite a longtime ago, my father saw one when he was young.

I think some are still used in coal transport though. There may also be some defunct ones in old towns.

I don't see how Kyoryujin, Pteraidenoh, Pliesioh and Bragigas have "no actual effort put into them", or any less then your standard Sentai mecha. Hell, Kyoryujin has way more electronics then any Sentai toy ever.

...Unless you mean the BOA Megazords. Because yeah, they're absolutely shit.

Yes. Kyoryujin, who's transformation is "Turn the legs, attach arms." Such amazing levels of effort.
He wasn't talking about the toys' electronics. He was talking about how embarrassingly simple the combination is. Plesuoh is currently the only one that seems to have any level of effort.

Kyoryujin doesn't really have huge amounts steps less then your average Sentai mecha, really. Nearly every Sentai mecha involves 2-3 steps of the main mecha and then 1 step on the limbs before they attach.The size of Gabutyra's torso and how it doesn't change in transformation is simply to accommodate the electronics, so the effort put into the electronics makes up for it; you can't have both. It's not a matter of putting no effort in, it's prioritising the music/battery of the entire toyline and therefore putting the effort there over a slightly more complex transformation.
