I dig the tokkyuger suits...
I mean, it looks like they are really trying to set themselves apart and to me that's a good thing, they could have done many more things with the suits, but in their current status they are fine to me. The weapons and mech are just clunky, I mean that's one of the laziest mech designs ever and most of the weapons feel like old ones, I do love yellow's hammer though. What I find really interesting are the articulated ranger figures, seems like their number changes with their weapons. |

Also I know it is WAY too early to hate on this show, when all we have is a few design images, but that didn't stop people claiming Gaim was the greatest Kamen Rider show ever made, when all we had was a shot of Gaim's back to go on. Gaim lived up to the hype (mostly) but they were lucky in that regard. |

Like I knew I'd do eventually-
On closer inspection I think I can actually dig their suits a bit. Are they perfect by today's standards? No sir, not at all. Very simplistic yet somehow too busy in all the wrong places. If this show had been made in the early 80's it would fit the bill for sentai perfectly. They aren't perfect but I can totally take these suits as long as the additional hero or heroes introduced have something better going on. Tokkyu Oh looks like a hugely simplistic toy. But at the same time I understand Bandai/Toei are trying to appeal to hardcore train collectors. That being the case I can cut it some slack that they appear to be better as trains than a robot. On the flip side how do these trains appeal to hardcore collectors? The robot mode is 275 mm which is about 10.8 inches so it's not a very large robot, doesn't appear to be very wide necessarily either. Are these trains scaled to model trains and stuff? I'm trying to be positive, I want to be positive. The changer gimmick looks super fun and I hear there's going to be a boxed set of the Changer with Tokkyu Oh so I'd have to get that for sure. The personalized weapons are definitely Go-Onger recycles, as soon as I saw them I thought, highway buster? But I almost never buy RP's so that doesn't matter to me, unless they make the dick move of including some of the DX trains with the weapons. And dude's i'm calling it now, Power Rangers Conductor Force in Korea first, then it'll be Power Rangers Steam Stream in the US :lol |
Well I'm disappointed (that was the nicest way I could think of it)
The helmet details are nice, but the rest of the suits are too single-color for me. But I'm just here for the mecha, so that's where the real disappointment is. More arm swapping? Combination transformation is just put the cars side by side, twist a few parts, and fold the red train in half? Unlike Den-O, I'm not even bothering with being positive :P |

The mecha is better then I was expecting I mean comparing it to travelion I think its pretty good (it no grand liner but few mecha have topped that). It has potential especially if we end up with a multiple mecha combination, it could end up being a multiple mecha combination that avoids being a clusterfunk.

Okay its time for me, the man who was the most excited of this, to give his opinion.
I...LOVE THESE DESIGNS!!!!!!! at first i was abrasive, but then I sat there and thought, just how showa they are, i love after all the complicated suits we've gotten we are going back to something simple. the mecha, the design is a bit weird, but its unique, and this thing is going to look awesome in action and its going to have the coolest combination sequence of all time and if all these trains can hook up without issue, that is going to mean that is going to be one long ass train, and that excites me BRING ON TOKKYUGER :D |

BUT, the added gimmick of swapping train halves like Gosei Headers opens up tons of possibility for other combos down the line. (Fuck. Stop talking yourself into this show more you bastard, we already don't have any money!) Fuck. I've just talked myself further into this show. |

I like it! Very simple! Though the mecha is kinda weird-looking. Hopefully the actual suit doesn't look too bad.
But it looks like they change their colors! Which explains why they're going by numbers instead of their colors! So we can have a Pink leader and a female Green! AWESOME! |

I'm with you. |

I hope we get the a carrier mecha, THAT IS A GIANT ENGINE SHED THAT TURNS INTO A ROBOT THAT HOLDS THE TRAINS |

OMG YES! |
I think the biggest problem with the mech is that the trains all look like great trains to appeal to the train collectors. They just didnt took enough liberties with them so they could combine and make a good looking robot. I just dont like that he has no waist.

There's no denying it's a lazy design, but it has it's charm, if the minipla could give it a waist I'd be awesome. |

I kinda like the simplistic suits. The mecha might be too simplistic, but I don't hate it.
I'm wondering, might the simplicity in the combination have to do with a special feature, like perhaps the individual trains are all capable of running along a compatible track? As I can't read Japanese, I can't tell what's actually written there about them, but maybe they were intended as functional model trains first, with the ability to combine needing to work around that? Pure speculation on my part, as I can't tell what it actually says. |
The only way I can see myself liking the mecha designs is if they go for a Carranger style show.
