I like the trend we've got of Garo as a probable winner, and Ryukendo seems to be doing alright as well, so I'll prop up the Iron King nomination instead. Legitimately available on Region 1 DVD and insanely affordable, or decently affordable if you want to watch the superior, less compressed BCI release.

Because having 4 super sentai/power rangers shows in a row was ok.

Y'know, if Garo wins, I'd kind of want to see it go through all the Kouga stuff, so basically Garo 1st series through Soukoku no Maryu.

You will regret this, Gills is the most pathetic rider ever. :D ...but Agito is a very good show.

Anyways, while I personally really enjoyed Ryukendo, I'm not sure this show will be to everyone's taste. The tone of this one is different from most of recent Toei's series.
It's worth a try, but some of you might be disappointed..

Magiranger gets my vote, it's an awesome show & I wanted to watch it again.

I really hope Agito doesn't win, if it's anything like Kuuga.

Kuuga & Agito have nothing in common. Thinking about it for a few seconds, I would say Agito is more like OOO.
...& BTW, Kuuga was not that bad, Toei was mostly trying to revive the franchise, you can hardly get it right on the 1rst try. That show has some good moments.

Kuuga is bad, and its historical and cultural context allow it to get an unfairly free ride. The show had three redeeming qualities, Ichijou, Rising Dragon and that motorbike Grongi.

On the topic at hand, I know Matrix was only joking, but I'd happily back Armor Hero if there is anyone taking the idea seriously, as this'll be a good excuse to get past the first episode.

Ultra Seven X! It's a very unique and enjoyable type of toku, more of a Men In Black kind of show than a Superhero one, but it's really enjoyable and interesting.

The pacing is great and since it's only 12 episodes long we can get done with it in a single month, and then continue with something else.

Ultraseven X is awesome and most people wouldn't watch it outside of a LWW, so you guys should consider it.

Or Iron King. The main character is a singing cowboy secret agent that tracks down terrorists along with a bumbling sidekick that can transform into a giant cyborg warrior. And the music is by Shunsuke Kikuchi, who according to the back of the DVD case did DBZ's music.

After looking through everything that has been posted, I say Mahou Sentai Magiranger!

As someone who watched Kuuga recently, I couldn't disagree more. It's better than almost every other Rider show I've seen, in terms of writing, consistent action (without being bogged down by gimmicks) and it has a really good plot, with a lot of mystery and suspense that's handled well. I think it's so beloved because of how well it holds up, not just because of its historical significance, like what we see from the nostalgia goggled MMPR fanboys.

Were we watching the same show? It had a protagonist who had no character growth in fifty episodes. It had a tone so gratuitously sadistic it was only as fun as getting cancer. The special effects, and general fight scenes, were just terrible bar for about six battles, in the entire fifty episode run of the series. The pacing was awful in how unfocused it all was, and choosing to leave the Grongi speaking entirely in jibberish with no clue what they were talking about was a terrible decision, as it wasn't mysterious you just never had a clue what was going on.

I reckon we should go a bit more old school; Kamen Rider Black perhaps.

Wouldn't it be more fair to include Toku that's not just between those two franchises? Outside of the one Ultra series, we haven't had much. We got the likes of Garo, Power Rangers, and other Ultra series to pick from, too...

Most of them, Black had more imagination to use its effects shots better.

No offense, but it's not like there is that much outside of those two that are subbed. PR are not worthy of LWW and as much as I like Garo, no, just no. The next series needs to be a Sentai one since we have done a KR and UM.

Dude take the condescending attitude somewhere else. You aren't the person who gets to deem whats "worthy" for this site or this segment. Ever. If the community voted for a Power Rangers Series we'd watch and you'd get over it, or wouldn't participate. Either way it sounds like a win win to me. The next series doesn't "need" to be anything other than what the members of this community vote it to be.

I don't like Power Rangers anymore, that's a fact, I can live without it happily. But ANY toku series is worthy of being featured on this segment. I'll happily sit through any Power Rangers series if that's what people want. Or any Sentai, Rider, Ranger, Ultra, Garo, Godzilla at all. Hell I'll watch Lion Maru G if that's how random this segment gets. At the end of the day all tokusatsu programming is "worthy" of this segment. So please take the elitism elsewhere.
