I could swear that that scene is an intentional reference to Star Wars, it seems too convenient. |

If Gaim fans glaze over little issues, it's only because the show itself is so good it makes it easy. Small imperfections in an otherwise flawless painting are easily ignored for the big picture. However, should Gaim (and I don't even know why we're considering this and living with worry when we could be watching an awesome show) take a nose-dive into the brown and stinky river, that doesn't mean fans will simply ignore that. People like what is good, so if it's not total perfection, it doesn't matter. It's still good. But if it's bad, well, they won't. The ability to overlook minor and inconsequencial flaws doesn't make us blind to ALL problems as you constantly insist. Not everybody analyses these shows with surgical tools in their hands, they just watch them for fun. That may not be how you do it, but they do. And you're perfectly entitled to do it your way, just as they are theirs. I know you probably don't mean to, but you make it sound like it's wrong for people to like Gaim as much as they do, because tehy're willing to appreciate it overall rather than make note of every single glaring flaw, distracting them from what they like. |
Oh yeah I agree completely. Gaim's problems have been fairly small, and haven't hampered the overall enjoyment. I also didn't bring up the issue of the show going south, either, so I dunno where the defensive stuff is coming from - especially in the very thread where I gave the episode nothing but praise.
I'm just saying if you're willing to glaze over issues now I can't see why the same can't be said if the ship starts to sink. Some people just want to have fun, some people let shows wash over them and let the internet form their opinion for them and some enjoy being critical. If they ship has ACTUALLY sank though, then maybe then, certain people should face the facts. But if this does 'do a Fourze', we've got a lot of good stuff left yet. |
Great episode, although I'm still kinda torn on Jinba Lemon. On Gaim I absolutely love it, but I'm mixed on how the armour doesn't really look like a fruit at all. On the one hand I can see how limiting themselves to just fruit looking armour could be difficult (especially when you start mixing fruits like this arms does) but at the same time "Orange + Lemon = Lantern thing" is a bit weird to me. Its a minor complaint though and I'm sure something that will grow on me.

This was great, I loved Micchy losin it over whatever it is they were lookin at. I wonder if Kouta remembered to get his faceplate :lol
Next week outta be amazing! |

All that was missing from the forest chase after the Kurokages crash were a few Wilhelm screams. :lol

What a cocktease! I really hope we see what Micchy saw sooner than later, it's got to be heavy to make him switch sides like that. The worldbuilding with checking in on how the teams are using Invess now was pretty cool.
|
Finally got a chance to watch the episode and had a couple thoughts.
1. If 'Jinba Lemon' is translated correctly as 'Lemon Rainment' then that makes sense that Gaim could have a form for each of the 4 Energy Riders. Melon Rainment, Cherry Rainment, etc. 2. I wonder if it will ever be explained how exactly the Lock Seeds can summon Invess. I mean, if each Invess in Helheim was an animal or human, how did they get 'linked' to a lock that's able to pull them through? |

God damn what an episode, what a season. Holy crap!
Again, something that I really like, Yggdrasil really aren't the bad guys. We may be seeing this as Micchy going to "the dark side", but is he REALLY? We don't know what the endgame is, we don't know why Yggdrasil is doing what they're doing. We are seeing it from Kouta's perspective, more or less. And sure, the means may not be the most "good", but we don't even know the ends. They may very well be, as they say, doing this for the greater good. As for Jinba Lemon. Again it's overall a pretty cool design, and it was really awesome in action, but I do wish it had an actual fruit form rather than just some nods here and there in the design. That and I hate that his weapon is just the same generic weapon all the energy riders have. I hate that the energy riders all have a generic weapon :[. Still a nice early season upgrade, even if it isn't as cool as most of the other arms. Edit: Also really dig the theory that Zawame is a crafted reality by Yggdrasil and that Helheim is the real world. I don't really think that that is the direction they are going, especially with the bit about Helheim "choosing someone" at some point in the future, but it's a cool theory. Oh and as for glossing over flaws/people liking things that are good, etc. Well Ryuki is not without its issues, but I loved that series so much I can even look passed the absolutely insulting final 10 minutes of it i.e. everything after they show Ren dead at the foot of Eri's bed. |
Finally all caught up with Gaim! Go me.
And wow what the hell did Takatora show his baby brother. I almost don't want to know, but then I really want to know, at the same time. But damned Orange Lemon Energy Arms is amazing on screen and in motion. And now the armor and why it looks so different makes sense. Because it wasn't straight Orange or Lemon it was a mixture. Glad to see Rat back in action, though team Red Hot is a bunch of thugs. And how come no one even misses Hase-Chan? Not one team, except his own fleetingly in the last episode, even asked where he was. |

Jinba Lemon still looks a bit bulky, but I love the Lemon pattern. I see what they were getting at with the design and once you got used to it, it's actually pretty cool. Though I still have to get used to the silver headpiece...

In regards to Jinba Lemon I dont care if it doesnt look like a fruit. I like the fact that the more heroic Kouta becomes he less and less looks like a fruit and more like an actual Samurai.

Well, if we have in mind what Urobuchi said, it's only a matter of episodes until the name will be used.
|
The masked freedom fighter and protector of zawame city...Kamen Rider Gaim!!
|
I do wonder though, what could cause him to abandon the Armored Rider name to adopt "Kamen Rider"?
|
Armored Rider is a name that originated with Yggdrasil and their Invess Game. I can easily see Kouta refusing to be called that after the things he learned or is about to learn.
|
I'd wish we get another Kamen Rider to momentarily jump in to drop the name. Oh man if the wizard special was cannon it would be nice to have that place be where Kouta learns about the name then introduces it into his series himself.
|
I would prefer if he would come up with the Name himself. This way it has alot more meaning to the character and his motivations.
The Legacy aspect you mentioned is cool too but it could come of as " I am calling myself Kamen Rider because thats what that other dude I barely know calls himself." |
I'm guessing a few of you already saw this, but:

Yeah, saw that when I was watching the episode, it got a bit of a chuckle out of me.
And yeah, I agree, I do like that as Kouta becomes more of the hero he does seem to become more..well, like a samurai, and it works. Am rather excited to see his final upgrade. |
So watching the scene with the Kurokage troopers again…I kept expecting to hear the Wilhelm Scream. :lol
