Guys if you haven't done it yet you should definitely check out Fury Diamonds EXTENSIVE video from the show floor.

To make it easier, I made one large blog post with the pictures from Bandai UK, Tokunation and my TRU information on the Legacy toys called Ultrazord Protection.
|
There is a simple way of getting the price to drop on a figure like that...
Just band together as a Collectors Collective and don't buy it...if Bandai/TRU even think that there will be a high demand, and over populate the shelves..by not buying it, it will drop to clearance faster. Look at the Beast Fire Predaking...$60 to start, I just picked one up for less than $13... Just saying... =========== I will be picking up that MachFaclon, Q-Rex, and most likely the Ninja Storm zord...just for completion sake) |

So it'll be £200 when it hits the UK then? Guess that's an easy pass from me then...
IF it hits the UK that is. We got/are getting the other 2 legacy zords but the words "limited edition" don't instill much hope in me. |
Well, I'm out. I won't bitch about it, it does no good, but I will say this: I'm truly saddened. There's no way I can afford Titanus. Even as a present from the wife or something of that nature. Even if I had the money, I'm not sure I'd feel right spending that much on one single component. I did that once for Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy. While I don't regret it, it certainly isn't one of my proudest moments. I can't do that again, I just can't. That's on me and no one else, I will just make do with the MegaDragonzord and be done with it.
I do find it a bit crazy that the '93 classic can sometimes be obtained for less. I'm not sure why Bandai and Toys R Us decided to make it so expensive. I'm assuming there's a great deal of die-cast in that beast. Perhaps even electronics to boot. For those of you who can afford it, enjoy. For those of us who can't, I know that feel, bro. |
Yeah, that price is insane. You can get much better collector quality toys for much cheaper. I love my Sentai mecha collection, but at the end of the day they're just pretty bricks and not a lot else, if I'm spending over $100 after shipping its because its rare or there're multiple coming, let alone more then double a rare Sentai mecha usually is plus the $60-80 shipping it'd cost to get here.
People have been clamoring for all the Legacy items up til now, so they might've figured they could set it at whatever price and it'd still go like hot cakes. It remains to be seen if it will. I don't consider myself stingy with collector items, I've bought every Transformers Masterpiece released at retail or above and I'm constantly shelling out big bucks for Sentai/Power Rangers/Transformers stuff, but even I probably won't get him, because that price is atrocious, but we'll see how much restraint I have when preorders go up. |

How much was Titanus when it came out during the season 3 run of toys?

I was just looking at Ooebi's Hobby Factory http://ooebihara.sakura.ne.jp/ and I'm trying to figure out how the Ninja Storm Zord will even work on the issue of integration.
I'm thinking their display may have been misassembled or something, or perhaps it was still in prototype phase, I don't know. If it is as it seems to be, then I'm terribly confused because it has Zordbuilder pegs coming out of it and I see no holes in it. (I'm assuming they're all along the back of it or something.) I'll still buy it for completeness sake, but I'm just so confused as to what it's supposed to do... |

They've already revealed their next series with Dino Charge and revealed all that they're going to be revealing for Super Megaforce yesterday at Toyfair. The next push will be at SDCC and will likely feature the Dino Charge toys. Outside of con exclusives there won't be more keys. And just to clarify you won't be able to complete teams even if you do pay high aftermarket con prices. There will only be a grand total of about 60 ranger keys including what's already been released at retail so far. With what little that leaves now, it will be impossible to complete most teams even with convention exclusives thrown in the mix. |

200 fraking dollars! sorry but i don't see the justification on that for titanus. even if it is a reworked 2010 mold it still shouldn't cost that much, even if it was motorized. i don't see how die cast could make it cost that much, considering its around the size of the other two legacy zords. god dang it.
|
Man all cool stuff out of Toy Fair as usual, and the Wallet cries as usual because of it. Got my Legacy Dragonzord Pre-ordered and still waiting for release, guess I'll be buying/Pre-ordering Legacy Titanus when that becomes avaliable. Super Megaforce stuff looks cool too, Got my Legendary Megazord and still have yet to find my Gao Lion (GaoRanger is kinda stuck like glue sorry) So need to pick up the Q-Rex and the Turbo Falcon, and possabley the Ninja Storm Ninja Zord.

At least with the Legacy Dino Megazord, if nothing else. |
And after Reading through the Thread my wallet cries even more. 200 bucks for Titanus, I could afford it but it would mean not buying some Transformers and if your into them you know there are far to many cool ones coming out of Toy Fair. So its going to be a rough year on the wallet for sure being a fan of Transformers and Zords, and there's still video games to buy yet.

And at the end of the day these keys were already made by BOJ. The US ones are a different size and quality and a lot of people are more than happy to just buy the original keys if BOA won't make american versions of them all. So at the end of the day it's a lose lose situation for any sort of 3rd party considering making them. |
Right money issue to some but people that are $200 for a titanus when bragigas was apparently that much plus shipping on time the bitch on price of this p. ok o dunno how much die cast but I feel like it's a a lot to cost this much but if I hope at least I hope the make a less die cast version witch only have little parts in die cast that will make it cheaper. But if come in uk I see being more the £200 due in the uk a legacy dragon dagger £94.99

BOA really do continue to amaze. |

What I don't understand is…
Why use fan-subbed footage if you have access to that footage already? |

lol
Titanus being $200 is an ouch and I'm out on that one. It looks great, and I'm sure it will be worth it, but I just can't justify it. |

I don't care, honestly, not only are Power Rangers toys of lesser quality than the Japanese counterparts, but the over saturation of MMPR has made this a total waste. Literally this whole '20 years of power rangers' event has just been releasing the first team in a billion different sizes, shapes and colours.
I've found this anniversary an ultimate test of my Power Rangers fan patience in general both because Megaforce was a steaming pile of shit of a show, but also this HUGE influx of new toys has been like I've said above. I know, love the show, hate the marketeers but it's just really really sad for me that it seems the only people the marketeers care about as people who AREN'T fans of the franchise. Oh what, here's a token Mystic Force figure without his fucking cape. See, we said this Anniversary would appeal to adult fans as well! |
Apparently the show is doing something right if the Legacy line is continuing into 2015 and the Legacy items are selling like hotcakes at TRU. The marketing images said Samurai did $40 million in sales, Super Samurai did over $80 million. We've still yet to see any indication of what Megaforce did.

I totally understand why the 20th anniversary is going "MMPR, MMPR, MMPR", but that doesn't mean I like it. I hate it, actually and that's coming from somebody who's bought practically every 20th Anniversary related item! I agree with Locke's assessment that it seems a lot of it is targeted towards non-fans or very casual fans more then the sort of fans on this forum, directly aiming for nostalgia buys more then anything else. The few places that I truly feel like the anniversary is shining through are things like the ACG, Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit and stuff carried over from Gokaiger. PR themselves have done very little.
Its just sad, because this is also the TF 30th Anniversary and their toyline has had really awesome new figures from nearly every TF line and franchise ever, rather then just "G1, G1, G1". Comparing that to the MMPR-fest PR's doing, its a little disappointing. I know TF has a far larger fanbase and is a bigger franchise, so its easier for them, but I would've loved it if the Legacy line gave us stuff from other seasons. Particularly from some of the non-MMPR seasons with extremely rare merchandise like Zeo. |
It's funny because even nostalgia junkies are surely gonna say enough is enough when they've bought their fifteenth green ranger variation from the anniversary. But this one has muscles! this one is four inches! This one has removable armour! This one has poorly applied paint! This one is imported! Blah. I guess at least the Megaforce toys represent Megaforce the show, lifeless, soulless, identityless and cheap.
|
i'm long past the point of caring about MMPR, to the point i actually recommend that people starting to watch the franchise begin with Zeo so as not to get MMPR-tainted.
But it is an Unavoidable part of what PR is, and if having to deal with a flood of Tommy's and Jason's means i can have even one Carter or Wes then i'll do it. |
Since people were wanting a Legacy Megazord with Titanus coming, I posted a full list of every TRU in the country with Legacy Megazords left. It's not a big list.
