I'm afraid it's hard to say. ToQger seems to be a love/hate series for many fans but I love it a lot. I hope you'll love it too, but I can't make promises. :)

The first two episodes were great, this one dropped the ball pretty hard though. I hope next week is better.

I thought it was the best and by a pretty good margin.

I thought the first two episodes had much better action, much better villains and much better character focus. Kagura came off well in this episode, it was her focus after all, but last week in last weeks Hikari ep, it also gave great focus to Right and Mio as well. The other episodes just achieved so much more.

Hmm I'll agree on the less action part, and this episode was more talky than the previous two. I liked it best because I just really enjoyed the scenes with Right and Kagura, it hit all the right vibes for me.

But even if there was less character focus (which I disagree due to the Right and Kagura thing) and less action (which I agree), would that really constitute "dropping the ball pretty hard"? From your description it would seem merely average. :lol

Dropped the ball pretty hard compared to the first two episodes high standards ;D Last week we learnt about Hikari, Mio and Right AND had train dog fights AND had train sword fights.

This week we had ULTRA GIRL which was both the entire character focus and action of the episode. Good action AND good character focus, but whereas the first two episodes were a chicken and bacon ceaser, this was just a chicken and mayo.

I voted Okay btw, not poor. Generally I like these polls public so we can name and shame :lol

Absolutely superb episode yet again.

A great focus for Kagura that shows her as being far more than the pigtails stereotype some of us feared she was going to be. I'm really enjoying her character and I can't wait to see her greatest strength/weakness rear its head again and prove to be a bigger problem.

The monster designs continue to be amazing, in my opinion the best we've had in a Sentai show since Magiranger (although Geki had some great ones too).

I am just loving this show so damn much. It looks so colourful and cheerful and it is, but at the same time its only been 3 episodes and the story already feels quite rich.

True past episodes had more balanced action... but come on! Ultra Girl! She kicked ass to the point she had to be stopped.

I just hope it keeps it up.

I'm sorta with Locke on this. I think I liked the episode a bit more than he did, but it was a bit of a step down from the last two, just not at "dropped the ball" levels. There was enough I did really like out of it that I'd say this was a good episode overall.

I just felt that the first two episodes were near perfect, so getting a third episode that was just 'okay' felt like a much bigger step down than it perhaps would be ordinarily.

I think you're both insane, I enjoyed this episode much more than the first two.

I think I want to see more Kagura-focused episodes. I wonder if this will turn out Goseiger where each episode rotates to focus on another character.

The focus on Kagura wasn't the problem, I already expressed multiple times I liked that part. I just felt the episode flagged in all other regards, as others have agreed. The first two episodes juggled a lot more content, outside of Kagura this episode was empty and lacking.

Absolutely hope so.

I gotta say I'm loving this series so far. Kobayashi seems to be bringing her A game. I didn't like how little screen time the main villains were getting but now I get the feeling she's building them up for something huge. When Schwartz finally takes to the battle field its going to be epic. Only things I don't like are the uninspired way the monsters grow and the suit swap gimmick. It was cute at first but its starting to get repetitive. Still despite those nitpicks I'm really loving this series like I said and hope this quality continues.

Overall I dug this episode more than the first two. Kagura was actually likeable in this episode (though I still dislike the "Super Girl" and "Ultimate Girl" shtick). The villian was pretty darn creepy and I find myself more and more fascinated with the Shadow Line folks (Schwartz in particular). Hopefully we get an episode focused on the main villain group in the next couple of weeks. Digging the series so far!

I thought this episode was near perfect too. Not as transcendent (trainscendent? Eh?) as episode 2, but certainly good.

The character relationships here are already 1000x more sophisticated than Kyoryuger.

So I finally watched this episode and it was A LOT better than the first two episodes. That isn't saying much, as I am already tired of Pink's antics to make her strong (hopefully this episode will mark the end of that though), but the villain was pretty awesome and there were some more mature under tones here. I did also think Right was a lot better with a toned down personality. HOWEVER, after the tasteless penis joke, I am about ready to just stop. I just lost complete enjoyment over the episode due to that moment regardless of it being in the last 3 minutes of the episode. It also does not help that the mech battle felt tacked on here.

I do like the mystery centered around the show, but the childish behavior of the cast and that Trainboner just completely pull me out of the immersion.

I guess I might be in the minority of those who thought this episode was better than the first two. I just watched it yesterday even though I had it downloaded for quite a while. The first two episodes didn't really convince me to keep watching this series. I don't know what it is, maybe I'm not used to seeing kids/teens as a Sentai team but I just wasn't that interested in it. This episode though slowly made me reconsider to continue on watching it. I did feel like if I was a young child, this weeks monster may or may not have given me nightmares. Haha

Finally saw the full episode, I am seriously not liking this show as much as I did Kyoryuger at first. The mecha fight was funnier this time, but the rest of the episode I didnt care for.

This series is starting to grow on me.. At first I thought the whole "trains" theme was pretty stupid.. And I guess it still is. But I'm coming around to it.. I'm not sure if this will really work in America.. But I guess anything is possible.

Nice character focus episode. After a year of how Kyoryuger handled them, this felt much better.
