And I'll just pop in and ask for a show about Takatora.

One thing we never got an answer to yet was about how and why the forest must choose someone. I think by now it's obvious that the Forest chose Mai, which is why she and Mysterious Girl are basically twins. That still leaves why, how she got the red eye, travels through time, and what it all means |

...and this one puts the count up to 20 episodes of pure awesomeness!!!
Am I the only one wishing for Urobuchi to go the Amemiya way and create his own franchise like Garo? |
The craziest part of this show is that, outside of Kouta, there's no real black or white heroism.
I mean, you've got Micchy, who's extremely two-faced and a couple of episodes back, it seemed like he was truly about to turn his back on Kouta, but then surprises everyone and helps him. But at the same time, he says that he'll betray anyone to protect his world. Then you take Kaito, who seems to be shaping up to be Kouta's ally, but then this episode, completely switches on us. You get to Takatora and despite him seeming cold, heartless, brutal and prejudiced, he's probably the only genuine good guy amongst his colleagues. Even Bravo takes on the role of a minor antagonist, but isn't necessarily a bad guy. |
Welp, so much for the all team dance getting people back on the Beat Riders side, though I suppose the scene was there to highlight the following points Takatora and Ryouma made.
Still, it shows the people of Zawame city blaming the Beat Riders are more willing to blame the people trying to protect them, rather than think about where the Invess are coming from if the Beat Riders aren't the ones summoning them. Man, hope Kaito gets his act together, otherwise it looks like he's trying to be the final villain. Also, Takatora? It'll be a miracle for you to survive the series with all the dramatic irony you're drowning in. |
Rarely does an episode of Kamen Rider get me to think like this one did. Not just about what's going on in the story, but about what's going on in the world. Normally I'd go into detail about what was good what was awesome and what was relatively okay. However this week I have nothing to say for any of that stuff, because all I can say is simply this... This is how you make one of the best episodes of the franchise.

ummm...wow...redivision of factions...new goals...and new motivations...wow...
|
A powerful episode. One of the best written episodes of any television show, ever, in the world. For serious.

I don't know if anyone agrees but, doesn't Kaito have his way of making you like him, but making you hate him so much for being a prick sometimes? Anyone? Just me, okay.

Kaito just pings off me. I have no feelings towards the character either way. I view him in a positive light, but he's easily the least interesting. They've done everything right with him, I just don't find him a character worth mentioning except for when he does stuff like this, and even then it's only what he does, not who he is, that's interesting. I'd consider him overblown. Quote:
An anti-hero is a protagonist who's methods and character are the opposite of a typical protagonist. Spawn is an anti-hero. Punisher is an anti-hero. Kaito is not a protagonist, or a hero, so he's not an anti-hero. If fans had their way, anybody who's not the main character would be labelled an "anti-hero." Quote:

Kouta's the protagonist. He learns the truth behind Helhiem and what it could mean for humanity and what happens? He's hit with conflict and wants to warn everyone in hopes that they will band together in order to stop this as one united people, but is also unsure if doing so will lead to an every man for themselves situation like Takatora warned of. Kaito learns of Helheim and what's his stance? Survival of the fittest. If someone's too weak to defend themselves from the coming invasion, then they don't deserve to live. As a result, he thinks this invasion would be perfect to weed out and eliminate the weak, only leaving the strong-willed and strong-bodied to fight off Helheim. Kaito's made it obvious that he doesn't care about fun or unity or any of that. He wants power to avenge the town he used to enjoy living in and doesn't give a damn about who's effected by it. Kaito's drive is personal while Kouta's is more selfless. |

Anti-heroes are not evil. Kaito is. He doesn't care if the entire world is destroyed. He's crossed the line of empathy. No sane human alive could possibly agree with his ideals. "Technically this" or "technically that" doesn't change what's real. He outright turned his back to every person. That's not an anti-hero, that's a villain. |
Or Kaito could be enacting one of the worst plans in Toku history next to Kusaka "infiltrating" Lucky Clover.

Exactly! The plot just keeps getting better and better. I don't ever want this show to end! |
What's ironic about Kaito is that he's probably the Rider that loses the most fights, not counting Gridon since he hasn't transformed in like, 10 episodes.
That "strongest will survive" philosophy of his will come back to bite him in the ass. |
AMAZING!!! That is all I have to say about this episode.
|
Finally know the secrets and everything! A very good episode, though I'd like to see more Zack. Intrigued with what will go on with Kaito, Ryouma, Yoko, and Sid. Still very intriguing.

Hooooooooooly crap at that reveal. Helheim Forest is a world already destroyed by the plants and we are next. How is it we are on episode 20 with that knowledge bomb that was just dropped? I did like Zack and Peco taking down Inves as a team, but Oren starting to become a pain just existing to slander the younger characters. And we have Kaito siding with the three crazies while Kouta is with Takatora. Should be interesting to see how things play out from here.
